Amazing...beautiful lady! Im so scared bc my hw 242...cw198..slow loser. It has been 5 wks. I have to lose 58 more pounds. I make 5 months in February so Im hoping mine is just taking its sweet time. How was your weight loss experience? Was it slow at first? Any tips for us?

  2. My Doc would have a fit. If the sugar is high I wonder how many carbs are in it ? Be very careful with sugar and carbs

Yep...41g of sugar...1 carb. I will try to make one at home. Surprisingly the 41g of sugar is the only sugar I have in a day. My doc said just eat less and Protein first....protein protein protein. Are any of you all using myfitnesspal

  3. What's a gladiator smoothie?

The gladiator smoothie is the healthiest smoothie at Smoothie King. Get it plain with any type of fruits from the list. The small cup is 180 calories and 45g of Protein. I usually do strawberry and pineapple or strawberry and raspberry. The rest of the day I eat my hard boiled eggs for snack or breakfast...a few shrimp or piece of chicken for dinner and my Water. Its easier for me. The smoothie also makes me full.

  5. Hi' date=' I am a slow loser also. I was sleeved july8th. And have lost 33 lbs so far. Starting wt 240. I get extremely frustrated when I think about how slow this has been even with exercise. My doc told me to expect this since I am a lapband revision. I'm told that the body figures out what you are trying to do and interprets weight loss at this level as starvation. Your body will hold on to weight Water etc. until you increase your Protein and calories to a level where the body feels starvation is not your plan. I'm finally averaging 600-900 calories daily and 60-80 grams of protein. Doc says 90 grams of protein is the target. Then don't forget to add resistive training which increases your metabolism and keeps you from burning your muscle up instead of fat. If you burn muscle instead of fat your metabolism will slow and your weight loss will stop and weight gain becomes easy.[/quote']

Yes...the last two days I added calories up to 650-750 calories per day. I also bought two gladiator smoothies each day which is 45g per small cup. The gladiator has been saving my butt. The last two days I reached 76 plus in protein and close to 700 calories...almost 6 wks post op. Thanks for the support.

  6. I am a slow loser. takes me weeks to lose a few pounds and if I'm not careful I'll gain it all right back. Question. in the past what has worked for you? I know when I increase the amount of veggies and salad my desire to snack goes down and I lose. Also.. in the past I lost lots of weight on Atkins ( gained it back ) .. so now that I've been sleeved' date=' I eat Protein first, and very little carbs. I don't eliminate carbs, that's just too hard. But I do watch the carbs carefully. Another suggestion that has worked for others ( not me for some reason ) is to increase the amount of Water. Are you getting in the recommended amount of water?[/quote']

Thanks for your response. I increased my water and calorie intake to 700 today. Im somewhat doing atkins..protein and very little carbs. Im stuffed already and haven't eaten dinner yet. Trying to eat b4 7 pm every day. I think I only did 300 calories somedays. Some say there are different ways to trick your metabolism. Im wondering how can I trick mine. Lol!

  7. Hello everyone. Im up this morning trying to wrap my mind around my slow loss. Im 6wks post op (sleeved 9/10)and Ive lost only 15 pounds since preop. My doc told me I have 60 more pounds to go but this is really slow. Since 2011, my grand total for weight loss is 42 pounds. I definitely feel better but I dont know what I am doing wrong. I feel restriction in my tummy and still get constipated a lot. I take MOM, all Vitamins and Fiber supplements, exercise, and eat very little. I havent had juice, sweets, rice, pasta or much of anything. I eat a boiled egg for Breakfast or 5 bites of grits/scrambled eggs. For lunch, a small piece of meat or few shrimp. Snack...boiled egg and dinner some type of meat and maybe a few bites of mashed potatoes. I finish all meals by 7 pm. Im not even eating 700 or 800 calories a day. Im considering going bk to liquids for some meals. I just dont know what to do anymore...

    :(

  8. Thanks for the encouragement guys!!!!

Sometimes it's hard to "see" our progress' date=' but the airplane was irrefutable proof that its working. This was my first flight without my ex-boyfriend, who was average sized. He would always get the seat next to me and raise the armrest so I wouldn't be embarrassed or encroach upon my neighbor. I've heard stories of people being asked to buy a second seat and I've been petrified that it would one day happen to me. I had tears in my eyes when i realized I could sit down comfortably :-)[/quote']

Aw, you are so beautiful young lady. Just imagine when we get to our ultimate goals. My weight loss is slow but overall, I feel better. I am trying to get my confidence/self-esteem back. It's amazing how many fears and unnecessary thoughts of humiliation pass our minds due to our weight. I wish you the best on your journey. Have an awesome day!

  9. Congrats to all the newbies' date=' and I would first all like to apologize to anyone I have offended. I did not mean it to come across that way. I type in caps to emphasis, not yell, I know how important this surgery is to all. I was a stroke victim waiting to happen, my PCP even told me that I was being Pro active by having this surgery. I had the surgery 4 months after my mom passed away from you guessed it .... strokes. .... I wish you all the best and success....[/quote']

I thought you were motivating us. No offense here. Im just 3wk post op and I originally lost 27 pounds but now ive gained 7 bk. I think some of the apple juice I had was too sugary. I was drinking a lot bc I was constipated. Ive been retaining Fluid too. Im lost bc it is only 3 weeks. I exercise 2 a day. Any advice would be appreciated.

  10. I know that every woman on here is concerned with hair loss! You don't loose your hair because you are loosing weight. Hair loss comes from Protein depletion.. It's our body telling us we are not getting enough protein. It does not matter what ethnic back ground we come from if you do not get your daily protein count in a day your body will start pulling it from other parts of your body such as your hair' date=' nails, skin, and muscles! I encourage everyone to take Biotin, as well as a good Hair, nails, and skin Vitamin before surgery and after.. Keep your hair in protective styles and don't put any chemicals in your hair such as perms etc.. Personally I keep my hair protected by a sew in, braided underneath with a cap.. My hair is still growing nice and healthy while I'm still loosing weight.. I have loss 31lbs in 6 weeks and my hair has grown 1-2 inches! I hope this has been a blessing to someone![/quote']

Thank you so much for this post. I will continue with my sew ins. I take Biotin 10000mcg max strength and the rest of my Vitamins.< /p>
