Yes. I think I have been too sensitive to their opinions. I will be strong and move ahead with my husband's faithful support. Thanks so much.

Why am I Doing This? poster
lswelk replied to Thunderhead27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
******* That's a great idea. I LOVE visual inspiration. So, here's a confession: I googled "size 4 model" just to see what that looked like---forget it. Then I googled "size 6 model" etc. I would live to be an 8 (now an 18+/20+). So I don't know. But I am going to print up those things and other "reasons." thanks for mentioning it. -

BMI 35 and insurance approved? ?

I will do that too if I get to 6 months supervision and am declined. Also am 62, with co-morbidities. Had lost about 18 lbs by third month pre-op, landing me at 230. (am 5'5) Doctor said don't get below 220 or my BMI would be too low for Insurance co. So, am finding this slow down frustrating, and it seems like my last 6 month appt in mid Dec will never get here. Then it will take 4 weeks for approval process and THEN I will get an appt for surgery taking into Jannuary or later. It's hard to keep my fingers crossed for 6 months. . IN GR AND TIRED OF WAITING -
Worried about post op pain? Me too

Wonderfully detailed. This could be written into a "how to do it well" pamphlet. Thanks for taking time to chronicle this. -

I am 62, have already lost 15, and from this point on will have 80-90 lbs to lose, I will have the sleeve in three months, I hope. Insurance requires a 6-month supervised weight loss program with three consequitive months. I have had those three. I was so gung ho and ready to roll, and now the waiting seems tortuously slow. So I am using this time to prepare myself to do things the right way when it FINALLY happens. This is a great resource. Anyone want to share your top tips? (Pre-Op or Post Op). I'll collect and post a list of the top tips I receive. (At least the top 10). Might be fun to also do a humorous TOP TEN SLEEVE List ala Letterman. Send either. Thanks.
