  1. Every doctor is different' date=' even different doctors in the same practice. My surgeon's post-op plan is stricter than most & I was on Clear Liquids only for the first week post-op. I'm now in the next phase of clear liquids & 3 Protein Shakes a day for 3 weeks. Then it is on to pureed foods for two weeks, then soft foods for the next two weeks. At week 9 I get to introduce solid foods.[/quote']

I get to introduce solid foods at 6 weeks but only soft foods that can be cut with a fork. Then it'sa gradually process of introducing foods and seeing how I react. Have just found out that pureed tuna Mayonnaise is not one of the foods I can tolerate yet.

  2. I' date=' ve just cooked my family cottage pie and took some to one side and pureed the mincebeef and peppers in gravy, then added powdered milk to my mashed potatoes n butternut squash( for extra protien) and made my own tiny cottage pie in a little dish, and this will still make me around 6 meals so i, ll freeze it, I think as long as your cooking healthy food you can purree or eat if your past liquids, purree stage its fine cooking for family, unless its not what you can eat , like a fryup lol thats gotta be tough. :-)[/quote']

tuna mayo with mash and veg tonight! Am so happy to finally be past the liquid stage! Still had a latte for Breakfast though. Have never been a breakfast person. :-)

  3. That's what I mean tho' date=' its a long way off, i, m talking about only just having your sleeve and trying to eat the crap you did before then wondering why your sick when you, ve just tried to eat a burger or pizza slice, theres no point in that,i agree everyone should have atreat and 2 yrs down the line. Were all gonna know what we can and cant tolerate, but straight away we have to be strong, besides everything that we love thats bad for us makes us dump, it is hard every1 seems to be having Chinese around me and that was my fav junk food, grrrr lolxx[/quote']

Oh my god. Are some people doing that? What's the point of going through all of this if you're just going to continue as before....... Thankfully, whenever I see an ad for KFC or burger king or pizza hut, it has no effect on me at all. Probably coz I know I can't eat it now.

  4. Its my 3rd week and I have been stalled for 1 week. I lost 28 pounds in 2 weeks. I have increased my activity to include a variation of walking and cardio aroebics. I hope to see results in the next couple of days.

Um, not sure cardio exercises are wise just 3 weeks out of surgery.... Your stomach won't have healed yet. Maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't attempt anything too strenuous until the 6 week mark. Besides, on such a life calorie intake I just don't have the energy. Just walking for me.

  5. Goodluck to all the sleevers having thier ops' date=' i, m 11 days post op snd 21lb down from pre op 13 lbs post op, but I was told not to weigh myself for at least 3 wks post op because you actually weigh more after op , this is due to Water retention from iv Swelling to your stomach and can take 3 wks to settle, so I am going to weigh myself 3 wks from op and that will be my official weightloss post op. My surgeon said I have to work with my sleeve, its a tool but it wont do the work for me, I have to change my diet completely, no junk food should go into our mouths after being given this chance, whats the point of wls if your gonna go try and eat pizza or a big mac or Chinese or choclate, Its not going to work if we dont change our diets and excercise, afterall we all know the reasons we got here in the first place was all the bad choices we made, so we have to embrace this new way of life and work with the sleeve not against it, its not gonna be easy but we, ve all already gotten over the hardest part and thats making a concious decision to have the op knowing our lifes are gonna change forever, for the better for the healthier for the slimmer person we all are going to become, we are going to do this my fellow sleevers, we can do it, I for one am looking forward to the journey and sharing it with everyone thats on the same path with me :-D[/quote']

I agree but also agree with ' everything in moderation' am not going to deny myself the very occasional junk but the majority of the time will eat healthily. :-) what will be lovely is having a Chinese and only being able to eat a quarter of what I would eat previously, or even less! However, that is a loooooong way off! :-)

  6. Today is so hard.im still on liquids and its getting boring.I knownits whats best for me right now while inheal.im just having a bad day. Went grocery shopping for my family n omg it was hard.went to target' date=' bought a smoothie, took a drink and realized it had seeds in it.so gav it to my mom.got an icee, took a sip n didnt feel great.found out its carbonated.Im just bored.chicken broth &fruit punch g2 gatorade & sf Jello

& popcicles all are pretty much same flavors over n over n im getting tired.I literally felt like sleeping all day.didnt want to think about my liquids.sorry for all this its just how I feel.I need some suggestions on other things to add to diet.cant do Protein shakes yet.cant tolerate it very well.still vomit I try some everday tho.[/quote']

Do you have a blender? I've Been on ' anything you can suck through a straw' since day 3 post op. I bought loads of different Soups. I blend the the Soup and sieve out lumps. Having said that, I got really frustrated the other day and bought some chicken and ham paste for toast (very small jar). I slowly ate half the jar and it was heaven. Didn't suffer any ill effects either.

  7. Im going through my day to see if I did nething different to have caused my recent pain. Im still on liquids. I can drink 6-8oz of water/gatorade within an hour. Is that too mcub too quick? Can that have caused my pain? I can also drink 4oz broth' date=' 1 popcicle (1.65oz) &about 1-2 oz of sf Jello at one time. Is this normal too? Or am I drinking too much at a time? Just tying to find out wat caused my pain so suddenly[/quote']

Hey, I seem too be able to drink more than I'm supposed to too. Thought it was just me. I'm in UK so measure stuff by millilitres and grams. I can down 500ml in an hour and can consume 1/2 can of Soup in half an hour when the literature says I should only be able to manage a few spoons. And I feel hungry too. Am hoping this will change when I move on to pureed foods. :-( does anyone know how many grams or millilitres an American ounce is?

  9. Thank God I found this thread. I lost 20lbs in the first 2 weeks but the very next day I'd gained 3lbs. Over the last 3 days I've been bobbing up and down by about a pound. This is frustrating and confusing. What happened to calories in vs calories out? I walked 90 minutes yesterday and only had about 20g Protein and this morning I'd bobbed back up again. Aaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhh!
