  1. See SAGREEN07...maybe we are right in line with where we need to be...it's nice to see more people showing their numbers that aren't the exceptions to our March club.

I agree, I know some loose faster and some even slower, but I can't remember ever losing this much weight in 4 months. Also, it's hard to NOT compare yourself, you want to make sure you didn't get a defective sleeve, lol. But seriously, it wasn't gained overnight, it's not going to come off immediately, your body catches onto the starvation/reduced calories, and goes into protection mode, causing slows and stalls.

I also think that some people include their weightloss from their highest weight, not necessarily from their surgery weight.

  2. How in the world did you go from a size 24 to a size 16 by losing 29 lbs? That's like a size and a half for me lol. I am short, five feet two, my weight is about 238 and I wear a 20 comfortably. To be in a 16 I would probably have to weigh about 195-200 lbs. 29 lbs. lost is good, I'm looking forward to losing!

Mentalistfan, I said I could put them on...LOL, wearing them to sit in all day will probably be another 10 lbs.

I'm short too 5' 3", but I carry most all my weight in my stomach, not my hips/butt/legs. And as we all know, no two sizes are ever the same, a 20 in Gloria Vanderbilt is different than a Lee 20.

You are doing to do great!! :)

  3. Hello,

Just wanted to say hello I'm not on the boards as much as I'd like to be, but wanted to find some others who were sleeved around the same time.

I'm Kelly, I was sleeved on 3/17/14. Not having any issues, IF I remember to eat slow enough :)
I've lost 29 lbs since surgery. scale hasn't moved much in the last week or so, BUT, I was able to fit into the smallest pants I have in the closet, Size 16 - whoo hoo, which is great considering I started in a 24.

Everyone have a great day! :)

  4. Gamegirl I love that you can do the math with ease.....me, total math phobe! :)

Can you play the same game with excess weight to loose?

I'm early in my progress, starting my Kaiser Options classes next week, for 12 weeks, won't be able to schedule surgery until sometime in February. They require us to lose 10% of our current weight before surgery.

But I'm curious as to what my excess weight to loose is.....

    Goal: 130

  5. Love this thread!!! :D

Name is Kelly, I'm 44 and married to a wonderful, loving and supportive man, Curtiss. We have been married 8 years this month, together 13. I have one biological son, Ethan, he's 17 and the light of my life. When Curt and I married, I was lucky enough to have 5 new children to love. We have two grandchildren and love the whole grandparent thing!

I'm a legal secretary, have been for the last 22 years, I currently work for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, working in the Police Litigation Division for the last 13 years. Any time the City or LAPD is sued civially, we defend. Total job security at this point...LOL. I love my job and enjoy the work.

I'm originally from Wyoming, my parents and two of my siblings still reside there. Curt is from Tennessee and that is where is family is at. Both make a nice place for vacations. We are looking to relocate to TN after Curt retires in 3 years. I love Wyoming but he just shudders at the LONG winters.

I love to read, watch movies, go hiking, camping & fishing.

I am so excited for this journey, don't have a surgery date yet, just beginning the process with Kaiser, should be looking at a January date. :)

  6. Hi Blondiee! Thanks for replying :)

Gosh, I have so many questions...where to start?

I may be incorrect, the classes might be 12 weeks, I thought the Options cordinator told me 6 wks on the phone, but either way......whoo-hoo on your two left!!!!

Had to change my orientation date to 10/4 due to a colonoscopy on the 11th of September. So anxious to get the ball rolling...

What was your option during the classes, did you do the full liquid diet? How about the 10% were you able to reach it? I've heard people talk about their worry in loosing before the surgery that it might drop their BMI below 40 and they might be refused surgery...any info on this?

Do you think you will have your surgery before the first of the year? I'm so exicted for you!!! :)

    ok, I've rambled on enough!
