thanks guys! Yes, my meds need adjusting, again. I just want to flip the switch and have everything be OK, which is a good sign I'm in a funk. I appreciate the advice, and the support.
I'm going to have some Water and take a few deep breaths, and then go back to my arts and crafts project at work (I'm cleaning up my lab notebook, to shut off my analytical mind for a while).

Sounds like you're just in a funk. Something good will happen that will change your attitude. Unfortunately, we tend to allow outside events determine our emotional forecast! This is an issue def meant for your therapist and I'm glad you have one to moan, b***h and complain to, not everyone does. I'm also happy to be part of your sounding board, give me your best shot!!!
Since you've lost so much weight, your hormones have probably been up and down, have you thought about meds or maybe changing them if you already take them?? At least until your body is done losing the weight and your hormones balance out.
I hope your life changes to a point where you are happy again and that your true friends love you 'unconditionally' and will help you mend the relationship(s) most important to you.

SAME range (65-99). You're good! You don't have to do anything you don't want to do!!! If your glucose levels are normal and your A1C is under 6.0, then you are fine! You know your body better than any doctor.

I'm upset because my doc is forcing me to take the glucose test which I need to drink a bottle of sugary substance the same amount of a bottle of Water within 5 mins. There's no way my stomach can intake that much liquid in that time. So of course I threw it up. Now because of that I need to poke my finger 4 times a day I check my sugar w the blood strip machine and it came out at 64. Does anyone know if after the surgery what's normal for us? Is it the same range? So worried :|

Good decision, but try your best to take the high road and rise above it. You can chose to forgive someone, and it is a good thing, but you don't have to put yourself in the company of people who are only going to make you feel bad. Its times like this you learn who your true friends are. If you find one or two people in this world besides your parents or family, who will be there for you and never let you down, count yourself blessed.

I have a friend that I am ready to walk away from after 9 years of friendship. We always ate lunch together at work. Then we invited a new employee to eat with us. This person has insidiously and passively aggressively done things over several years to take over our friendship and push me out. There have been so many hurt feelings that I have tucked away thinking I was paranoid until another employee pointed out everything I had been thinking. The sad part is my girlfriend is totally blind to her behavior and despite proving some of her behavior to my friend she turns a blind eye to it. After being off for the whole summer and returning 41 pounds lighter neither one of them even acknowledged my weight loss. Only after someone complimented me in front of her did she act surprised that I had lost weight. So I guess I am so frickin invisible now she doesn't even notice anything anymore. Today I am at the gym and she starts talking to me and asking what I did to lose the weight. I told her wls and she was happy for me but only said "You can really see it in your face" and you could tell she didn't want to say another word. This pissed me off and I just looked at her and said Thank you I have lost almost 40 inches and went from a 22/24 to an 18. Waited a few seconds and said okay I got to go and left. If that was bitchy of me OH WELL!!! I just feel like this friendship has gone toxic as is and I need to distance myself from her. Am I nuts or is this a good decision?

Everyone is different and will have different experiences! You should stop worrying about the "what-ifs." Otherwise, what if you don't lose enough weight? Live in the present. There are several ways to stop losing, but you really need to focus on what you need to do right now.

I too have a hernia and I am self pay. My surgery is day after tomorrow and my hernia will be prepared at this time. My surgeon is charging me the cash price for sleeve surgery and billing my insurance for the hernia repair which will be paid in full by my insurance. Even though they are being done at the same time it is billed like a separate procedure. Hope this helps you some!

Who would I ask about that? Would I contact the coordinator at the Surgical Center? I guess they would know the ways of getting around that?

There is a good possibility that you could get a major part of the cost covered for repairing the hiatal hernia, with you covering whatever added cost is involved (additional OR time, probable extra day in hospital, etc.) This is done all the time in getting tummy tucks and similar reconstruction surgeries partially paid for by way of repairing umbilical or incisional hernias.

I have had a busy, wonderful, stressful summer that I let become an excuse for going beck to some bad coping behaviors. Of course the coping behaviors involved going some horrible eating habits. I had lost about 57 pounds and have gained back about 5. I am evaluating what I need to do to get back on track and this seemed a good place to start. Still love my sleeve and am so grateful for the weight I have lost but it is time to get myself going again, still have a long way to go to be where I want to be. Any advice or encouragement is welcome! I know there are lots of people that have had great success on this forum!

Ummmm.. Call your doc ASAP if you're in excruciating pain. No offense but nobody is going to be able to give you proper advice besides your Doc. Or worst comes to worst, I'd go to the ER if it's really that bad.

I understand exactly how you are feeling! I was down right afraid ---- TO DIE! Well, obviously I was over-reacting because here I am! I am 17 days in and can HONESTLY say that I am completely happy that I did it. The surgery only took about an hour and within moments of waking up, I was drinking my Protein and walking within a few hours.
This is going to be a positive journey in your life so you should have no reservations about it. Just focus on the long-term outcome!

Please don't get discouraged! You need to remember that the scale doesn't always move but most of the time, the inches are shrinking, especially when you're exercising! Even just walking increases muscle mass - in all the right places!!! Protein also increases muscle mass. So keep up the good fight, if you gain 10lbs then you know you're doing something wrong. Measure your waist every other week instead of watching the scale, this may make you smile a lot more!

Oh and I decided to lose some weight on my own. My surgeon only requires a 2 day diet. Why? I don't know yet. But I plan on doing a 2 week diet because I keep reading about the liver shrinking. So, if I can avoid any necessary complications, then that will be one. Thank you ladies. I'm so grateful for these boards.

Well I'm glad you responded. Haven't met anyone here with hypothyroidism so its good to know you're losing and have lost weight. That was one of my concerns with this surgery. Change of diet is not what truly scares, although, I don't know how I can live without my ice creams and sugars. I don't binge eat. I eat because I just love the way food or junk food tastes. That's why I decided to look into the sleeve. What truly scares me is that I am in remission (colon cancer) and I came across a topic on the boards about stomach/pancreatic cancer. I don't want to scare anyone here so I won't elaborate. But this is definitely something I have to talk to my oncologist about. Oh and death, yeah, that's another one lol. But that goes with any surgery. All of the concerns every other sleever has worried about or any pre sleevers. I'm so happy you responded. Good to know that the surgery can work for hypothyroidism. Well wishes and good luck on this journey. Hopefully I'll have great news 6 months from now.

We've all tried to lose it on our own... right? I for one have lost 60lbs on my own in the past and kept it off, BUT have been down and up another 20lbs for the last several years - major plateau! The reason the surgeon wants you to lose weight before surgery is to mostly shrink your liver so that it's not too much of an issue during surgery. You have quite a bit of weight to lose, so I wouldn't worry about not being able to lose after surgery; the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off for some reason. I understand your concerns about losing your stomach, it IS a valid concern. I can honestly say that although I had the same concerns, I am SO happy that I did it!!! I believe you will be too! You have to ask yourself what you are truly afraid of... losing your stomach or having to radically change your lifestyle for the greater good...? How badly do you want to keep the next 121lbs off?
Look at your weight-loss history. Were you able to keep it all off? How many years have you tried? I have hypothyroidism too, but it isn't my reason for such an insurmountable weight gain in my life, it was a small part of it. I'm thinner now than I was in 1989, and I STILL have hypothyroidism. Oh, and my diabetic symptoms - gone!
My doc required me to lose 10lbs before surgery, I lost 20 as of the morning of surgery. I could have kept going, and I know I would have lost a bit more, but I know me, it would have crept back on in my moments of weakness!
If you continue to replace meals with shakes, you may lose quite a bit by December. This may result in you losing it slower after surgery, but why does it matter? I know that for me, I am a slow loser anyway, but I prefer it that way, less probs with skin hanging and will be more apt to keep it off for good.
Much luck to you in your journey!

In about 24 hours I will be heading towards the hospital. Sugery is at 2pm tomorrow. I'm trying to stay busy and focused on the lists of tasks I made for myself to stay busy today but the annoyance of the clear liquid diet keeps distracting me.
I'm sipping some chicken stock with some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder sprinkled in right now. I was pleasantly suprised when I opened that sample pack and smelled the Protein Powder. Smells like that creamy chicken romen noodle seasoning packet. Its my favorite of the noodles.
