Vines I'm so sorry you will have to go through all this... I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and wishing you through all this quickly!!! (((HUGS))) Better health is on its way... just hang in there and know that you can come here for suport anytime.. we miss you when your not here!!

I really can't think of any great way to give them up except.... COLD TURKEY!!! I always drank diet cokes before being banded and just finally realized that I had to give them up some time...better before banding than after and suffering trying to drink them. Good Luck.. its hard giving up some things and some things you never even miss!

#2 is my answer Paula........ Banded at least 6 months and have had reflux problems. I believe I just got filled to tight and once unfilled a little it went away!! This was only a couple months ago after getting my 4th fill.... so my first 14 months of banding no problems at all. Age 28 Gallbladder removed 1 month before band was placed.

Happy 4th everybody!!! Going to Mom and Dads later for visits and eats...i'll be good though! Fire works at our local park tonight!!! Everyone enjoy their day!!

Jessie bear ~ MAN DID YOU SAY WATERMELON!!!! I actually had my first watermelon yesterday at a 4th of July family cookout and it was awsome... Ive had cantaloup several times and love it too!! Thats the best thing about watching what you eat in the summer... I think it seems a little easier with all the fresh fruits and vegtables available !!! YUM YUM!!!

My port is on my left side and its just fine there. No choice given to me on which side to place my port. It was never discused and I figured the dr might know the best place for it better than me.. so my trust was in his hands!! I can feel it more now that I've lost alot of weight but it never bothers me.

Hey Angie Congrats on your bandiversary and your 50 pound loss is great!!! It sounds as if you have had a tough year but have still come out a winner.. so keep your head up and looking towards your goals and you will get there!!!

stephinie ask your Dr about chewing Tums for the extra calcium..instead of the capsules! My Dr. told me to chew 2 every morning and I never have problems with that! By the way congrats and welcome to bandland and I'm wishing you lots of success!!! Keep us posted on how you are doing!!

Angie I saw your post on my 100 pounds down thread and I love your new found determination!!! Keep us posted and I too will be reviewing my bad habits in a mission to lose about 30 more pounds!!!! We can do this girl!!! I'll be here to help... and get inspiration from you!!!

LOL!!! Yes the befores it kinda looked like humpty dumpty....he never had much arm that you could see cause his big round belly was hiding them!! HEHE!! I however am only 5'00 tall so there isn't much about me that isn't still short!! Well actually my BOOBS are a little longer !!! :faint: Still very happy with my results and thanks for making me laugh!! :clap2:

Bond girl Angie You can do it!!! Sounds like a good time to make a new start to me. I to need some tweeking on my habits sometimes and I do better during the week and tend to drift to the old habits on the weekends but over all do fair and continue to lose with some plateus here and there!!! Hang in there and take each day at a time and just remember the best is yet to come when you walk by the mirror and see the new you... its all worth it in the end!!! Please keep me posted you and others keep me on the right path as well... I love LBT cause we all help eachother!! By the way I see you are at a half way point to 100.. 50 pounds is awsome and it wasn't that long ago I was sitting right where you are... you will be there in no time!!! Congrats on your success and dont get caught up in the what if I would have's...... and just really be proud of how far you have come!! Keep heading for your goals and you will succeed!!

Man What are you talking about ... My husband is eating my left overs and gaining weight!! Not alot but hes getting a buge and the other day he told me to stop LETTING him eat my left overs... like I can stop him!!! Heck I couldn't stop myself from eating... THATS WHY I GOT BANDED REMEMBER.... is our conversation!! Dawg has done great with losing weight on his own!!! What dedication hes got!!

So sorry you will be having this surgery today!!! It is better if you get taken care of...but that never makes it easier!! (((I had my gallbladder removed 1 month before my band surgery)))...... Wishing you a speedy recovery. Have you already been banded or are you having that done soon as well?? Glad you are doing well after surgery.. hope you feel even better tomorrow!!! Keep us posted!!

Well I was always one that just liked to eat period!! I love baked chicken fried chicken salad it didn't matter I just like eating. I could go on a really strict diet but I always failed it after a little while. I think Icecream is my favorite and that is something I have to stay away from because it is still so easy to eat it after being banded.I to love potatoes and junk food.... I think I was and still am one that just eats to be eating... bordom or when I nervous... just over all an emotional eater. Its harder to do these days thank goodness but still a struggle!!!

Glad you are on the great road of success!!! keep up the good work!!! I deffinatly think that less isn't always better... it can help at times to eat healthier food .. but more of it!! Speeds up the metabolism!:clap2:

Kleinekatze ~ I'm confused at what you are eating not even a week after surgery. I think you should still be doing liquids it is still to soon to eat food of anykind... this could be what is causing your pain. What are nyou eating and what did your dr recomend to you??

Hey Angie~ I really don't have any tips except for follow your bandster rules and the main thing is that even when I'm not being a very good bandster my band is always there to remind me to be good.... when I decide to cooperate with it!!! Good luck to you!!! excersice and drink your Water.... never drink with your meals and you will continue to do great.. Congrats on your success!!!

You can buy anti nausea liquid over the counter at Walmart. maybe it would help you. Deffinatly just doo liquids for a few days. Hope you get well soon!
