  1. My date got moved to the 23rd. I keep having pleasant dreams about being in the hospital. I don't know if it's an omen or wishful thinking. But then when I'm awake, I worry about things. For instance, when I woke up from my gall bladder surgery I couldn't breathe and I'm afraid the same thing will happen with this surgery. I'm scared of the surgery and the lifestyle changes like, "never trust a fart" which I've read here several times. I'm going through all the steps to get there, but I keep telling myself I can change my mind up to the day of the surgery.

just stay positive and all will be just fine. :)

  2. With me, the doctors office first found out what requirements my insurance asked for. I had to go through a 6 month process. Once the process was complete the doctor then submitted everything I had done in the 6 months and they scheduled my surgery. I am scheduled for 9/16/13. I'm sure everyones doctor and insurance works different. I would ask your doctor how it works, they could best answer.

  3. I am scheduled for my surgery on Sept 16th. I also had a vacation planned and was to leave out to florida on Sept 26th, only 10 days after surgery. I was wondering for the people who have had thier surgery, how did you feel 10 days out? Would it even be possible to think I could go on vacation. The vacation is a short one, arrive on thursday and leave out to come home on Sunday. I do have to fly from NY to FL. Any advise would be greatly appriciated. Thanks ^_^

  4. I am just beginning this process. Have a seminar scheduled this month and an appointment with my PCP. Any tips to speed the process up?! I'm excited! A girl I work with had it down about 9 months ago and she's down over 100 pounds!

Do you know if your insurance requires a medically supervised diet plan? Mine required a 6 month plan. I think the waiting another 6 months after I finally made up my mind to have the surgery was has been the worst part. I read everything I could on the Gastric Sleeve surgery, it helped keep me motivated and educated on what I was going to be in for and what I could expect. Hopefully you wont have to wait that long for insurance purposes. Congrats on starting your journey and ask lots of questions.

  5. Thank you for your post. I loved reading it. It was honest and that's what I need to hear as I await my surgery date. I have accepted the fact that there can be complications but I have trust in my surgeon and cant wait until Sept 16th when I have my surgery. I am glad to hear you are doing good and kept a positive attitude, congrats!! Please keep us posted on your progress :)

  6. When did you start your six month process. I started in May and was wondering when will my six month be. I also have to do the six month process due to insurance.

I started in February. Visits with my primary doctor counted as part of my 6 months. I did have to wait an extra month but this was because I had to use a C-Pap machine for an extra 30 days. So if you started in May I would think you could be scheduled anytime after October. Just make sure you make all your appointments that they schedule you for.

  7. Hello, my name is Patti. I just joined this site, I thought I could find some valuable information. I cannot make the support meeting due to my work schedule. I am scheduled for my surgery Sept. 16th and am so excited. I have had a 6 month wait due to my inusrance. Well, I just wanted to get started on here and I look forward to reading about everyones expierences and I hope to learn a lot and maybe meet some people. :D
