when do you get your surgery date?
pjsmith222 replied to linda305's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With me, the doctors office first found out what requirements my insurance asked for. I had to go through a 6 month process. Once the process was complete the doctor then submitted everything I had done in the 6 months and they scheduled my surgery. I am scheduled for 9/16/13. I'm sure everyones doctor and insurance works different. I would ask your doctor how it works, they could best answer. -
Congrats! All will be great. Please keep us posted on your progress.

I have my surgery 9/16/13 and I can only hope and pray I have the positivity that you have. Very inspirational to say the least. Congrats and good luck with your new life, you deserve it!!!!! -
I am scheduled for my surgery on Sept 16th. I also had a vacation planned and was to leave out to florida on Sept 26th, only 10 days after surgery. I was wondering for the people who have had thier surgery, how did you feel 10 days out? Would it even be possible to think I could go on vacation. The vacation is a short one, arrive on thursday and leave out to come home on Sunday. I do have to fly from NY to FL. Any advise would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Thank you for posting your pics. Gives me the motivation to keep patiently waiting for my surgery. Your doing great and you look happy. I cant wait -
Do you know if your insurance requires a medically supervised diet plan? Mine required a 6 month plan. I think the waiting another 6 months after I finally made up my mind to have the surgery was has been the worst part. I read everything I could on the Gastric Sleeve surgery, it helped keep me motivated and educated on what I was going to be in for and what I could expect. Hopefully you wont have to wait that long for insurance purposes. Congrats on starting your journey and ask lots of questions.

Day 7 post op, made it thru first day of work!
pjsmith222 commented on adargie's blog entry in adargie's Blog
Wow only 7 days and back to work. I have scheduled 2 weeks off for my surgery and was wondering if that was going to be long enough. It would be nice to feel good enough to go back to work after 7 days. Keep up the good work and congrats! -

I was scheduled to have my sleeve done 10 days before I was to go on a short 4 day vacation. For some people who have already had their sleeve done can you tell me how you felt 10 days after your surgery? Should the vacation be rescheduled? Thank you for any advise.

Thank you. We are planning to go to Florida. I would be happy to just relax and enjoy the sites. I think the only issues would be not being able to enjoy food and drink with everybody else. I appreciate your input, I will defiantly consider this. -

I get my sleeve done on Sept 16th and I wonder if it is normal to be in so much pain for several days after words. I hear some people say they have no problems at all and some say they have a lot of vomiting and pain after words. Any input would be greatly welcomed. Thanks. -

Finally got a surgery date!
pjsmith222 replied to pjsmith222's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I started in February. Visits with my primary doctor counted as part of my 6 months. I did have to wait an extra month but this was because I had to use a C-Pap machine for an extra 30 days. So if you started in May I would think you could be scheduled anytime after October. Just make sure you make all your appointments that they schedule you for.
