  1. I'm 5'11" and I'm shooting for 170. Willing to go a bit lower but I want to see what it is like there first.
  2. It was right after I began puréed foods. I was on liquids for three weeks. The worst night was refried bean night but there were varied intensity nights for about a week and 1/2. I was so paranoid that I would wake up around 1 am every night and sleep upright in a chair. That might have helped, I guess. Hopefully yours is temporary as mine was!
  3. On my. The EXACT same thing happened to me at about the same time since surgery. It was awful. I woke up to my mouth and esophagus FULL of acid. I coughed and puked for hours!! Just a few weeks later it is gone, though. I stopped eating anything after 7 pm and stopped drinking an hour before bed. Also, weirdly enough, I stopped taking my Prilosec because I felt more acid whenever I took it. I doubt that would work for everyone, but it has worked for me!!
  4. My surgeon had me do a 7day liquid diet once a month in the three months leading up to surgery. I was so glad he did. After the first one, the rest plus pre-op were a piece of cake. I wasn't all stressed out before surgery either!
  5. These sound good. Especially the Thai chicken! http://shrinkingkitchen.com/friday-faves-the-magic-of-pb2/
  6. I was sleeved on 9/3 and there was a time-1-2 weeks out where I felt exactly like you. I can tell you that the head hunger fades. I have lost 23 pounds since surgery and am walking 5 miles a day. All I can say is acknowledge your feelings but allow yourself to feel EMPOWERED by this. You have given yourself your life back. It's a brave and totally kickass thing that you have done.
  7. I was sleeved on 9/3. I'm 41 and my surgery weight was also 263. I was 290 in may so I lost quite a bit pre-op. post op I've lost 23 pounds but nothing for 5 days. Trying to walk 5 miles a day. Have hit that goal 5 of the last 7 days. Feeling optimistic!!
  8. So excited! Down 20 pounds in the two weeks since surgery and 47 since my first doctor appointment on may 20th!!!
  9. Just the beginning, but I'm starting to see a difference.
  10. Yay!! For sure add me!!!!
  11. Mine was $100. Free shipping. www.fitbit.com
  12. Thanks sockless! Yay! A friend!!
  13. A Fitbit is a cool device that you wear (mine is a bracelet). It tracks steps, distance and time, etc for exercise. You can track food, protein and water. Even how much and how well you are sleeping. I love mine!!
  14. Just got my Fitbit and am 19 days out from surgery. Feeling sassy and need some friends for mutual motivation. Anyone interested? My email is sharikalsta@gmail.com. Add me!!
  15. I'm just a little over 1 week out and I feel great! I can't imagine how great I'll fell in two more weeks. I had very little pain and took no pain meds after surgery. However, everyone is different.
  16. Are you using premixed shakes? My doctor has me use powder and mix one scoop with 4 oz of water. I use Nectar brand powder. I get it on amazon. Close to 30 grams per scoop.
  17. I had my gallbladder removed and a hiatal hernia repaired. I'm one week post op and I feel almost normal. I also did not need any pain meds afterward.
  18. I'm September third, too. I'm less nervous than I thought. I've tried to only read positive threads on here for the past week and daily I visualize myself and how I will be one of the lucky ones and breeze through surgery and post op. Try it!
  19. Hi! Just got my date. September 3rd! Yikes! That is much sooner than I expected! Please add me to the group. Sharikalsta@yahoo.com
  20. I'm from Puyallup. Also have Dr. Srikanth as my surgeon. Should get my date soon. Really hoping for September!
