  1. Holy Wow!!!! Congratulations, you look amazing. So tiny!
  2. Can you just do clear liquids for today? It sounds like you are retaining water and the clear liquids only might help shed it. I understand, I can gain 8 pounds just looking at salt but I know it is only water retention. Sadly, your Dr does not know it is only water. I hope you can do it, I hope you get the surgery.
  3. Your before and after is amazing!!! You looked so miserable in your before picture and now you are tiny and look happy. How much weight have you lost? I do not think the info under your picture can be right.
  4. 27 pounds lost in one month is insanely amazing!! Congratulations on your success!
  5. You both look AMAZING!! Good to hear you had a great vacation. We love cruising and I admit I was wondering how it would work out after surgery.
  6. I have not had the surgery yet but I would think that the amount of pain you describe is not normal. Have you seen your Dr about it? I hope someone who has had the surgery will answer you. Good luck!
  7. I am still pre op but I will have my husband and two sons at home for support. This website for any questions I will have, either asked directly or searching for questions already asked. My PCP if I have immediate problems or concerns. My surgeon and his coordinator Amy who does the monthly meetings in case I need to go. I could not think of doing this without everyone and everything I listed here. Good luck to you on your surgery date
  8. Oh jeez, and water. Water, water and more water. Sometimes when people increase their water intake the weight loss starts again.
  9. I have been reading this site for a long time. I am still pre op but feel comfortable answering you. Some people have written that they can not eat some foods for months after surgery, chicken being one of them. Sometimes it is red meat or turkey ect.. but they can usually eat it again after a while. Take your time and eat the things you can for now. As far as the weight loss stopping- every body is different and everyone stops losing at some point while their body catches up. It is a shock to lose weight fast. When your body stabilizes it will resume losing. Sometimes it is because you are not eating enough and have to boost good calories. If you feel like you are eating enough it is your body playing catch up. If you feel you are not eating enough then up those good calories. I wish you the very best
  10. You look incredible! Congratulations on your success
  11. What a huge achievement! Congratulations!!
  12. Congratulations!!!! You have had amazing results! I bet that vacation will be 57% better with all that weight gone. And good for you for planning on healthy activities while you are there. We went on an 8 day cruise in December (I am still pre sleeved) and managed to not gain a single pound. If I can do it without the sleeve you can do it and better with the sleeve. Have fun and relax, that's what vacations are for
  13. I could put my face over yours in your before pictures and it could be my current body. I am 5'3" but hold my weight up top like you did with the boobs and belly and little legs on bottom LOL. You have inspired me and given me such hope. I was worried about how I might look after because of my shape but now I can envision how I will likely look afterwards. Your youtube video was great!! Thank you, thank you for posting and doing the video
  14. You look wonderful!! Congratulations on your success, I can not wait to see your goal pictures
  15. Fluids and vitamins should be priority and eat when you feel you can. I can kind of understand how you feel. I am a stay at home mother and my husband is an iron worker so it is typically feast or famine lol. Relying on one income is hard enough but when layoffs come it is pretty rough. I hope you can start to feel better and eat but all in your time.
  16. I hope everything goes smoothly. I can't believe you had so much go wrong. It must be so terrible to go through the wait, weight loss, surgery and then have the band fail you. I wish you the very best!!
  17. I have a 12 year old son who is overweight. My 17 year old is VERY fit and my 12 year old broke my heart when he told me he wanted to look like his brother. I have taken him to Weight Watchers (when I did it) and he loved the point system idea and would do great in the day (I never did great) but he would still sneak out at night and eat. We also tried cutting carbs, more fruit ect.. My husband and I were talking about therapy or a personal trainer (we were desperate) to get him more active but settled on karate. He started at the beginning of February and goes 4 days a week for 45 minutes each time. He is such a shy kid and now he is getting more confident and happy. He wants to lose weight so he can get better in class. He wants to be able to do more sit ups and push ups and knows he has to lose more tummy to do it well. It is amazing what a month can do! He stands straighter, talks to strangers more easily and I swear he look slimmer already. Maybe your daughter would like to do something like that. Or a sport in school to keep the focus off of food. I wish you all the luck in the world, there is nothing more painful or heartbreaking than seeing your child struggle and not being able to help. ((HUGS))
  18. Congratulations!! BTW, you look way smaller than 180 pounds
  19. You are so tiny! Congratulations on your weight loss.
  20. That's awesome. That must have made you feel on top of the world
  21. Great job! Can't wait to see your before and after pictures at goal
