Went grocery shopping today and for the first time in years I bought only the items I went in to buy. No Cookies, cakes, cereals, gummy candy etc...I am truly amazed and did not even realize it until I was in check out.

I hope everything works out for you. How awful to go through surgery only to have so many bad things happen to you. I hope your revision brings you to where you want to be Best of luck to you.

If we have the money when I am at least a year stable with weight I want the mommy makeover in one shot. I would not want to keep going back over and over. One operation, one recovery period and on with life -
New to the forum..Soon to be sleeved!

Welcome!! I think anyone, any size that needs this surgery should get it. You should not feel like you have to convince anyone else when you know why you need this done. Rally your support team and stop mentioning it to the people who do not support you. I have my fingers crossed for you, I hope you get approved. -
I am excited for you! It's catchy

You both look amazing Madelyne and Eric!! Congratulations on your success.

That's great I think picking up the 22 pounds I lost would be hard. 57? No way LOL. Congratulations on your weight loss. -
You can add plain Protein powder to anything. Put it in your pudding if you have to. That's my plan once I am cleared for soft foods.

I was sleeved March 25,2014. Everything has been going pretty good but I just woke up choking. My mouth tastes sour and my lungs are burning, I keep coughing up acidic spit or something and I am scared. I think I breathed some into my lungs. Has this happened to anyone else? Oh, and I have been sleeping on the couch propped up to a near sitting position.

My stomach feels weird too, it keeps flopping around and squealing. Not too loud yet but I can hear it. I am calling my surgeons office when they open, I wasn't given any prescriptions for antacids and at this point I want their permission to take whatever I take. Thank you both for responding, I was so scared I breathed it into my lungs and my nose, throat and chest were burning so badly when I wrote this post.
-
I will call my surgeon today to ask about antacids. I wasn't prescribed any and didn't know I could take them. Did this ever happen to you hopeful2beslim?

I had my surgery March 25th, yesterday I had my leak test and then I was discharged at about 5:15pm. Last night and this morning were pretty rough. I kept getting sick, throwing up. While I was in the hospital it was all right because they gave me medicine to stop the sick feeling but I didn't have anything at home. I started drinking the Unjury chicken broth today and it stopped all nausea immediately. I crushed up a pain pill and slowly drank it with my broth and now I feel wonderful LOL. Must be the meds Entered the hospital weighing 216 and today I am 214 so I am not retaining any fluid. The gas pains went away yesterday afternoon so that was great, now I am just sore at the incision sites. It is really weird though, sometimes I can only sip a little at a time and other times I can sip an ounce in like 5 minutes. Is it like this for anyone else?

How did everyone go about telling manager you're having surgery?
BeeLee37 replied to re14768's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to write a note for my older son to have late parking at his school for two days (he had to get his brother on the bus) and I said it was because i was having surgery for a ventral hernia. For anyone who finds out I am recovering from surgery that will be the explanation for them as well. -
Great job!

Anyone not tell family?
BeeLee37 replied to MIMamaof2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have only told my husband, two sons, mother and brother. I now really wish I had never told my mother and brother. I live a distance from the rest of my family so the losses will seem huge to them but as other posters have said- When asked I will say I am low carbing with portion control. I just want this to me my journey for now. -
If you do not go you will be in the same spot you are in now 5 years from now. How much more active could you be with your kids and husband in that time? How much better could you feel about yourself? I would be scared too, going to another country and leaving loved ones behind but in a year from now those 5 days will seem like nothing. Treat it like an adventure you and your sister are going on. Have fun where you can and look forward to the new life you will have. Good Luck!!

Good luck to everyone getting surgery today! I hope all goes well. My surgery is tomorrow, I don't know what time yet but I feel the excitement.
