how much weight did you lose each month?

I would say thats about right - i am 10 months out & i remember my doc saying the first month will be the most, then about 10lbs a month till about 6 months - then it will slow even more... One month i didnt lose anything... but by 6 months i was down 90lbs... My Advise - Do what your Doc & Nut tell you and dont worry about the number, you will have stalls... the more you stress over it, the longer the stall (well in my case it seemed like it) Good luck
  2. Thank you - you make me blush!! lol

    2lbs from goal !

Needless to say I am walking on cloud nine today!!! at my 6 month check up my doc said "by 9 months I want you at goal" (at the time it was 20lbs away) I thought to myself "no way that's going to happen, I am losing very slowly now like a pound every 2-3 weeks...) Well at 7 1/2 months I am so EXICITED to say I am DOWN 98 POUNDS and only 2 lbs away from my DOC goal weight... I have a healthy BMI and that was MY goal... I have to thank you all - this website has been such a HUGE support!!! I will post pictures this weekend!!

About me (11months post op)----with photos

You are gorgeous!!! This is your journey and no one else’s… there is no winner if you get to your goal in 6 months or a year etc… You should be so super proud of yourself! Honey, you are HOT!!! I wish I was a “slower” loser… my skin is OK but I think if I lost it a little slower it wouldn’t feel lose… (not sure if that makes sense) it doesn’t look bad… it just feels weird… Anyway, pat yourself on the back for what you have achieved… I agree with Cow Girl Jane, it doesn’t have to stop at your one year… this is a life time commitment. But I think you look really good! Good luck!!!

    Two Week Plateau?

Just keep working the plan... it will come off... it happens to all of us, the best advise i can give you is to NOT worry about the stalls... understand they are going to happen & may last longer then 2 weeks, but then it start coming off again...I had almost 6 weeks stall... I didnt stress out (did it bug me, sure, but i didnt let it consume me or bring me down - i just kept working the plan & upped my exercise). Good luck

    Officially lost 100lbs :)

Thanks everyone I was over the moon - and before you all know it, you will all be there too!!! I have just cleaned out my closet (for the 5th time) and donated all of it to the gals in my WL support group. I finally just broke down and bought a whole bunch of new stuff so i am good and dont want to lose anymore weight. (THAT IS SO WEIRD TO SAY OUT LOUD! HAHA) But really I dont want to go below 145 (currently at 148.5) I go see my doc in a few weeks & want to talk to him about how to stop the weight loss now that i have hit his goal & basicly mine (i wanted to see 149 LOL) Wishing you all success in your loss!!!

Truth! What's the pain really like?

Before I had surgery – I would have nightmares about my stomach being cut - Our minds play horrible rolls in playing tricks on us – I had built this surgery up in my head and just was so scared about the pain etc… but in the end it wasn’t like it at all. The thought of my “stomach” being pulled through an incision – when I talked to my doc about it, he said “your stomach is like a balloon, once it is cut it will be deflated” so the thought of having this organ pulled through this tiny incision was put to rest… I had surgery on 12/11/13 (can’t believe I am 9 mos out) anyway – I had to stay 2 nights (it was planned because I have had issues with general anesthesia) I don’t remember pain, what I had was vomiting. I had some minor gas pain in my shoulder, but used a heating pad. I had some uncomfortable but very tolerable pain with my incisions. I had a morphine drip with the button bedside, I never used it – they sent me home with some strong liquid pain meds, NEVER touch it. I am not going to lie, the first 4 days sucked for me – but I was tired and tender and had vomiting for those 4 days, Day 5 – I was like a new person, I felt so much better. Over all this was nothing like I had built up in my mind. I wish you a speedy recovery!!
