Fatigue midday, almost 6 months out

Funny, i too felt great the first 4 months... by month 5 & 6... i was falling asleep at work... had no idea what the heck was going on.. had all kinds of blood work done etc... it wasnt until a co worker was telling me a story about her & the B12... long story short per my doc it was my B12... i now take 1/2 of what i was & now I take it at night. and now i feel like my old/new self... Check with your doc before you do anything, but just to find out if its your B12, stop taking it for a week... if that helps, then talk to your doc about taking it at night or adjusting the mg you are taking... Just a thought... But i would def talk with your Doc before you do anything - good luck

    Post-op Body Building

i would think you would be ok, but i would build up to it at a slow pace & not full on hard core... Listen to your body... and when you can, double check with your Doc or Nut. Good luck

Looking for stories of your 100lb weight loss!

So true!!! I have to say, this was the best thing i have ever done for myself... I live "normal".... i eat what i can tolerate (my new tummy does NOT like any type of pork products now...) Its like being on a diet without being on a diet... check with your doc on how much you can lose before your surgery... I know i had to watch until i got my approval letter. Good Luck

Looking for stories of your 100lb weight loss!

hi - everyone's weight loss will be different... I am just shy of 5' 7", My pre surgery weight was 253, currently I am at 155lb My doctor wanted me to drop 100lbs.. at 6 1/2 months I was down 90lbs and by 7 1/2 I was 2lbs from my doctors weight loss goal - I feel really good... and if I don't lose those other 2lbs - I am totally ok with it. I try not to worry about stalls (cause they are going to happen) I just followed my diet plan that my nut & doc set up for me... Try to not compare your journey to anyone else - it will make you nuts!! Good luck!!

How do you handle the attention?

Reading your post, I find myself relating to your story… I was thin till I was about 30/31 years old… so for the last 10 years I have put on weight for one reason or another – but I too didn’t match what I saw in the mirror… now 8months post op and a 100lbs lighter, I look back at pictures and have no idea who that person was for the last 10 years… I always knew there was a “skinny girl within” so when people who didn’t know me before I gained weight say “omg you look so different” I just smile and say well I am still the same on the inside… or a simple “Thank you.. I think..” and then normally they realize that they kind of crossed that invisible line of offending you with a compliment… and then they kind of back tract… Most of my coworkers know that I had this surgery, I just couldn’t really hide it… there are just too many big mouths and there was just no point in trying to lie about it… HOWEVER – in my life outside of work, only close family & friends know. It’s not something I post, blog or brag about… I have had a lot of people that are not in my everyday life ask me what I am doing, and I tell them I cut all pork, Pasta, rice, breads & alcohol… (which is the truth – I just have left out the part where they took out 90% of my stomach) I do feel bad, but half the time I just feel like they are being nosey.

@mariavg I completely agree! i actually took pictures of the space between me & the belt... SUCH A GREAT feeling... I flew in Nov of 2013 and the seat belt bearly clicked - this time i flew... it was just awesome... no dreaded looks of "oh no she is sitting next to me" it was just nice to not worry about it... i just scooted into my seat... not only was the seat belt roomy... so was my seat! YAY US!!!!

    gallbladder

I never heard of that, I had asked back in October when I found out that I had gallstones what I could do to prevent it from having to come out... maybe because I already had stones?? idk... It was fairly simple procedure I have 5 'battle wounds" on top of the 6 I had from the sleeve & the 6 from hysterectomy - you can play connect the dots on my belly... LOL actually you can hardly see them...

    gallbladder

Hi all.. surgery was good... but i had to stay over night (me & general anesthesia dont get along) Doc said my gallbladder was full of stones... and was surprised i made it as long as i did without being in the ER... so i am happy its out... NOW my question is... do you have to watch what you eat? My brother had it out and said he has to be careful of what he eats - I had the sleeve so i already watch what i eat etc... but is there something on top of that i need to watch? Its not like i eat bad... but once in a great while i will have a taste of something that i wouldnt normally eat... how about you all??? does anything effect you?
  24. Ok so i am 6 months out, and NOW i have hicups after i eat... they start a few mins after i am finished eating and last about 5 mins... it doesnt matter if its a "meal", a snack or Protein shake... Its been going on about 2-3 weeks now... Its not the end of the world lol - but just wondering if anyone else this far out is having this happen...

    gallbladder

I was having pain in my stomach.. like there was a rock in my stomach... I would eat a taste of something, and feel full, and like I was going to be sick.. and the runs... Was on a flight home from FL Monday night & that's when the pain started... I went to the doc on Thursday... honestly I thought the doc was going to say it was just a stomach virus... but apparently not the case... I also have been having sharp stabbing pain in my right side of my back (lower rib cage area) I haven't been able to really eat all week - I am hungry, but when I eat, I get so sick to my stomach... back in Oct/Nov 2013, I was told that I had gallstones, and that it would have to come out 3 or 4 months after my sleeve... so the fact that I made it 7 months I guess is a good thing?? just really nervous - I hate being put under, my body just doesn't react well to anesthesia at all...
