  1. I need HELP and some pointers... My Doc asked me to speak at his Weight Loss Seminar tonight. You know the Seminar we all attended deciding whether to do this…. Normally I am prepared - but I have had so much going on with multiple sick family members in and out of the hospital these past several weeks that I haven’t had a second to think about tonight. Has anyone spoken at a seminar for WLS? How did you begin, what did you talk about? I am drawling a blank and this is so UNLIKE ME!!!! I have 3 items of clothes and before and after pictures… but what do I say? Why am I freaking out??? This is so not me… thank you for any help, ideas or advice!!!

    What worked for you ?

    I followed my doc/nuts guidelines and didnt wavier from it. (with one exception -the amount of Water & Protein - i didnt awlays get it all in the begining) But i didnt eat anything before i was supposed to... and i don't drink adult drinks - maybe once a month & didnt try any till i was about 6 months. and NO soda, my last soda was almost a year ago Nov 30th. I do not eat any Pasta, rice, or breads & def NO white flour - I think this has been a HUGE help... After 6 weeks of fluids, shakes & soft foods... i kind of was "weened" off of it... so i just stayed away from it... i am a pasta /bread girl .... or i was.... I am not saying that it isnt hard to stay away cause there are times, but i know if i have just a little, that will be my gateway down the wrong path... Good Luck!!!

  8. Your body is stil going through shock - give it sometime, as other have stated above - its still early. You might be a slower loser - which I think is a good thing - i had wished i lost a little slower myself. My skin isnt saggy, but funny... Its not a race, this is a life style change and a loss is a loss no matter how much or how little... Your doing great!!

  10. This was taken on 10/12/13 This was taken on 10/12/14 Down 105lbs - I am so glad i got sleeved! I LIVE my life now... I dont hurt, or dread the stairs. I fit in an airplane seat with so much extra seat belt (yes i took a picture of the space now between me & the belt) (sorry for the mess on my bed - its not normally like that - i was pulling out clothes that no longer fit) Anyway - it was all worth it... I have never been happier.
  11. Thank you!!!! You are 100% right... I haven't worn strips in YEARS!!! and without realizing it... all my new clothes are pretty much all strips... i guess i am really into strips now. LOL!!!
  12. @gaudjosl - Hi there - I just saw my doc a few days ago & we were just having this conversation.. I think part of my success is that i do not eat any Pasta, rice, bread, wraps or pork products of any kind. Also any products that have the first ingredient white flour - i normally don't eat it. (no breads of any kind) I was a HUGE bread & pasta girl before WLS - but i do not like the taste of it or how it feels in my tiny stomach now. Pork - yeah you know how they say you can have a change in taste or reactions to food... well if i try to eat pork or even smell it.. i get sick - like projectile... I have tried it twice and NEITHER time were pretty... so i am just staying away from pork. which is so weird cause i love BACON (well use to) lol cause the smell now is gross. Beverages: I only drink Water, skim milk, unsweetened tea, G2 - NO SODA... i haven't had soda since NOV of last year. Also I have hardly any alcohol - I have a drink maybe once a month - and nothing carbonated at all. which means no beer... (sigh) my day to day (Monday through Friday) are pretty much the same - on the weekends I tend to go longer periods of time without eating or drinking (i know very bad, but i am being honest) every morning i have 2-3 egg whites scrambled with a very thin slice of white Am cheese (every day - weekends too) Mid morning i have a few slices of apple with 2 slices of crackle barrel cheese or half banana or some kind of fruit or a yogurt, low sugar oatmeal - or sugar free applesauce with added Protein, nuts - or a Protein Bar lunch - normally leftovers from the night before or chicken salad, shrimp, steak with a small veggie mid afternoon - i will have a the rest of my lunch, or a repeat of mid morning snack, sliced oven roasted turkey - or maybe even a little Cereal dinner - always some kind of protein fish, chicken, steak, with veggies and either mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes or a small salad (i still use baby plates with the dividers) dessert - could be anything from some fruit, frozen yogurt, even a cookie - i don't have dessert every day maybe 2 or 3 times a week if that... (now during my phantom period week - i could have dessert 5 nights LOL ) On the weekends - i have my egg whites every morning, but i get busy and don't have my mid or afternoon snack - and sometimes i forget to have lunch. If we are heading out, i try to pack a little cooler with some Snacks, chicken salad or a Protein shake or protein bar - i don't have too many shakes anymore - i just keep them for when i am on the run. not all days are perfect - i have been struggling these last 2 months to get my water in... So i am to drink water every time i think i am hungry and i have to say this little trick has helped... *******But the one thing i want to say, is don't measure your success to anyone else's this is your Journey and you will have to find out what works best for you. what worked for someone else didn't work for me.. Go to the post op meetings - Listen to your doc & nut, i am very lucky, i have a doc & nut that are very involved in my success. ****************** Feel free to message me, wishing you much success in your loss

    @Ava324 - come on babe!!! you can do it!!! I am EXACTLY like you going between 148 - 151 & the food cravings have been crazy!!! i feel off the food tracker end of July - i am trying to get it together (started yesterday & then didnt do squat today) WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER. we have almost the same stats. I wanted to be no less then 145 - but i will try to do 140 with you!!! we can lose these last 7/8 lbs together!!!! what do you say??? you in? we can start tomorrow (but for real)

    Advice needed- sleeved 10/21/14

    It is too soon for regret.. the first week was the hardest for me. I couldnt even get in 1/2 what my doc said... i just tried to do better the next day even if its just an OZ of Water more. On day 4 i was "WTF did i do!!!" but i woke up on day 5 and knew it was going to be ok... 10 months later i am down 105lbs & feel better then i have felt in 2 decades! it will be ok, just go slow, let you body heal... Hope your feeling better soon!!

    The boss over sales can NEVER remember anyones name... EVER (its awful but true) he will call you 5 names before he gets it right... so my name right off the bat everytime he sees me now... "skinny minny" its a good thing i dont need him for a raise. Today a co-worker says "you done losing weight cause your face is too thin" I replied with "funny, no one ever had the guts to tell me that my face was too fat before. when you're thin its like everyone has a right to make comments about your weight....and you dont have that right - but thank you for calling me thin" I guess she thought about it, because later in the day she came up to me to say she was sorry, and that i was right, she has no right to make comments about anyones weight and that she was proud of me for wanting to get healthy. best comment - we were going to a friends wedding, and i came out dressed up - my husband, dad, step mom, & son all said at the same time WOW!! simple comment but had a power punch to my heart!
