    Best Advice

I agree with all of the above... the only additional thing i would add is get use to making yourself a priority! This is takes a lot of planning & dedication, but it becomes like 2nd nature I feel like after you are on solid foods… I felt by month 3, I had a routine down… and it no longer feels like “dedication or hard work” it’s my way of life now… its a good life & so happy i did this for myself!
  3. I totally would not have been able to do it. My first week SUCKED! Everyone is different... I agree it is one or the other, because you wont know how YOU will be until you - yourself are actually on day 5... if you push your surgery back just a week, they you will have both... just not at the same time good luck!

    When did you try salad?

I wasn't allowed till 4months out, but my tummy didnt like it, so i didnt try again till 5months & LOVE LOVE it! I have the spring mix, cut it up really good... i use rice vingar & smart balance oil with good seasons dried spices. (about a teaspoon of it mixed up) & top it with shrimp or chicken! (Granted its only about a 1/3 cup food, dont always get it all down... )
  5. Mine wasnt negative persay... he tried to be supportive, BUT if we were to have a disagreement the first thing that would come up is the surgery & the cost and this & that...OR he would say, your going to lose all this weight & leave me... - this lasted about 3 months - In mid Feb, we had a talk about the above, i had recorded him a few times and when he heard himself, he realized what i was saying... since then, he has been awesome! During this time, it was a strugle for me to keep on track, it put a lot of stress on me & i found myself going back to bad habbits... but once i realized what i was doing... I took control... i didnt go through all of this for it to be a waste... I put me FIRST for the first time in my life... and you know what, it is paying off... - so try to stay on track & remember you did this for you & no one else... You did this to be healthy! I hope things get better - Good luck to you!!

    Favorite Food Staples Post-Op?

I am 5 months out. 99% of the time i pack a lunchbag for every where i go... here are some items that i pack for the "on to go": Water, Protein shake, String cheese, greek yogurt, cooked cold chicken or chicken salad (very little lite mayo) with a slice of Am cheese, peeled apple slices w/peanut butter, unsweeten apple sauce w/protein powder added into it, or nuts... and once in awhile i will pack a Protein Bar if i am in a jam... If i am going to be out all day on the go, i make sure i have something for every few hours... IF its for the work week, i will have something to heat up normally leftovers or a small spring mix salad with chicken salad or some other meat... or add some edamame to it... YUM!! As far as cooking & food -I have an egg white with a slice of LF am cheese for breakfast (this is my go to thing when i am hugry & dont really feel like cooking... ) 1/2 a snow crab heat it up in the oven for 10mins. most time i cant eat the whole thing so i will add the rest of the meat to a salad or something., Shrimp is another quick & fast meal - i get a 1/2 pound of shrimp - cook them on the stove with some spices and there will be left overs... this is also great over some spring mixed salad (i just started salads a week or so ago so i am on a little bit of a kick with this) When i buy steak... i cut it into 3rds wrap them up & put in a freezer bag, i take out what i want & cook only that 2 or 3 oz... add a veggie or salad and poof you have dinner in less then 15 mins. (i do the same thing with Chicken... some garlic powder, little lemon juice, some parm shaky cheese) that way i have enough for my meal & little left overs for lunch. IF on that rare outing i dont have my lunch bag, i will stop at WAWA & get something from there, like chicken, or fruit, cheese stick... nuts.. Congrats on your 35lbs!!

    5 Months out!

@cherrytree15 - I saw a hematologist the other day... i had surgery, i traveled 6 weeks after surgery & was stuck on a plane for 3 hours... and i have tested pos for the mthfr blood mutation - with these 3 factors he said it was like a "perfect storm" ending in a blood clot... that it was the cause of all three coming together... 2 1/2 months later the clot is officially gone - completely dissolved & i have been taking off blood thinners as of this past week... WOOHOO!

    "The girls" aren't lifting weights!

I went from a 42 DDD to a 38 LONG... LOL it happens to most of us... get your self a really good supportive bra, and start working out to try to build that area... if your still not happy after some time and they are still bothering you, then do something, but i wouldnt do anything before you have reached your goal.... Good luck with the girls

    5 months out with pics

all i have done, is walk. Actually i havent been allowed to work out due to a DTV (blood clot) i have only been allowed to walk a mile a day & not all at once. I have been just cleared this past tuesday to start walking & light work outs. WAY Back when i was in highschool & in my 20's i was very small waisted - I am really in shock that my waist is shrinking the way it is... However I hardly eat anything that has been processed... I eat 90% whole foods.. and no pork, bread, Pasta at all, and hardly any sugar... I only drink Water, skim milk & Protein shakes once in a great while i will have 1oz of red wine - My taste buds are so crazy wacky... if i eat anything processed or from a pig, it makes me very sick.... Thank you for the nice comments! Take care

    no time for me

I was the same way... At christmas time, my step mom got me a FITBIT - you can set personal goals on how many steps you want to do each day... it makes me want to do more then i did teh day before, sometimes i do, and another times not so much... but the point is i keep trying... i had 2 month down time due to a DVT behind my knee... but i am cleared to walk... so i walk... i take the steps at work rather then the elevator (started just going down the steps in the begining, now i go up & down) we have 4 floors at work... i take a 15 min break twice a day, and go walk each floor & take the steps getting there (This now takes me about 7mins) at lunch time, i walk the parking lots it use to take me 30 mins to do this, now i do it in less then 10mins... I park as far away as i can when i come to work or shopping etc... when i get home... i get 30 mins to myself... so either the hubby starts dinner or he is doing dishes (sometimes both LOL) but during that time - its ME time... lately he has been getting the kids to do the clean up & joining me on my walks. if you dont make time for you... NO one will... Good luck!!!

Thank you everyone for all your wonderful comments!! i was so neverous to post my pictures... idk, we are all in the same boat and so many others have posted pictures, i dont know why i was so insecure to do it too... to me, it feels like i am standing naked in front of a group of people... lol - again thank you so much for the comments!
