    What's for lunch?

Jeez guys, I haven't even had Breakfast yet, stop rushing me! lunch is likely to be either some tuna fish with a bit of Greek yogurt and shredded cheese, melted in the microwave, or a Pure Protein bar, since I'll be out running around all day today.

    Headaches every morning

For me, morning headaches tend to be the result of not enough hydration the day before. I went through it often when I was first sleeved and what they say "sip, sip, sip" really helped. Good luck!

Mall Food Court..What would you do?

Starbucks for a hard-boiled egg - they have a protein package that has an egg, peanut butter, grapes, cheese and some kind of little flatbread. I usually eat the egg, grapes & cheese and try to restrain myself from the bread.

    Oh, do please shut up!

Oh Laura, if you haven't figured it out then I have my doubts whether any of us will. You're one of the smartest people on here, IMHO.

    Oh, do please shut up!

LOL. OK Ms. Crankypants, thanks for saying what most of us think at times. Patience is a commodity often in short supply; sometimes I can read those kinds of posts and respond gently and kindly. Other times I need to roll my eyes so hard I fear they'll come loose, go flying across the floor, and the dog will eat them. And I ate a few grape tomatoes last night because I couldn't eat another bite of shrimp, I'm a complete failure as always, the sun stopped shining (really, I'm in Seattle!), and locusts fell from the sky.
  6. I think the reason half of us are here is because our bodies like to f*ck with us. What did you decide to add to your day to increase calories? I've been trying to drink at least one Syntrax ice tea a day. But still having a hard time getting out above 600 C/day. Like you, I'm just not hungry (well, except for crap food). I reach a point each day where I feel like I've just OD'd on Protein and can't choke down another thing. But wave a breadstick in my direction and I'll come crawling. Sigh.

    Psychotherapy

So my sugeon required only a presurgical checkup by a psychologist, not ongoing visits. But I feel I could benefit from some help in that area and since I couldn't stand the smarmy psych I saw, I found another one who sounded good on paper. But as I've mulled over our first visit I'm filled with doubts that I can't decide are legit or not. So you guys get to offer some opinions. :-) The therapist specializes in women with eating disorders. She works in tandem with nutritionists. All good so far. But in our session she made several statements that raised flags for me, but that I didn't call her out on at the time: 1. She's seen "lots of people" fail at this surgery 2. She said there was no way I would get to 125 lbs. given my age and the fact that I like to eat, and that I should face that sooner rather than later. 3. She was shocked that I came from a family of skinny people and asked several times if my sister and brother were anorexic. 4. She insisted I make an appointment with one of the nutritionist, even tho they're all "young and skinny". She's neither but she wasn't super overweight either. Dunno, writing this makes her sound really bad, but she's witty and asked good questions ... opinions? TIA (again!) Lisa
  8. And let us know if it works for you too? The thought of swallowing vinegar is a bit of a downer ...

    Psychotherapy

I doubt you're wrong, GG. And thanks to everyone who responded. I'm going back to the drawing board to find someone else. I feel like the Elephant Man: 'I'm a human being' and I deserve to be treated like one. (You can't see me - fortunately- but I'm making like an elephant. Lord. I think I got too much sun today. It all went to my peabrain.)

    I can't handle the puddle!

Wah! That's no fair - you've been through too much. Tell that brain of yours to go take a hike. You do look good! And I hear you about spanx - spawn of the devil they are.

    Long "Spaghetti noodles"!

The music, the dog and the floppy leftovers. Not in a bad way! Just in a silly way. No offense intended, the music was rather grand for such a mundane tool. :-) It tickled me.

That video was awesome ... and cracked me up.

    Aspirin

I know aspirin is not recommended for Sleeved patients, but it's the only thing that works for me in catching a headache early before it turns into a migraine. Otherwise it's Percocet and a dark room. I see my surgeon tomorrow for my 10-week check, and plan on begging then, but in the meantime, anyone still use aspirin on occasion? TIA, Lisa

Forearm strange sensations after lifting and pullups

It does. My apologies for suggesting otherwise.

    Severe migraines, what to do?

Anyone tried sumatriptan? I've had it work a few times when I've taken it soon enough. Otherwise its a blindfold, earplugs and percoset.

Forearm strange sensations after lifting and pullups

I'm beginning to worry about you, Fiddle! No trading one obsession for another. :-(
  21. I just had a mojito, 3 tiny shrimp, and a Trader Joe's meringue. So here's to *you* Madam! :-)

    Aspirin

She said that know that I'm fully healed, NSAIDs are OK. Yay!

Forearm strange sensations after lifting and pullups

I've had a similar feeling in my forearms when I was doing a lot of preacher curls, but that was 10 years ago or more and I haven't run into it since. Sorry I'm not much help, but it did not turn out to be anything serious. You may have seen this on HuffPo, but it freaked me out: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eric-robertson/crossfit-rhabdomyolysis_b_3977598.html. Good luck!

could anyone tolerate icy cold protein shakes?

Same goes for me. They've got to be icy or at least over icy before I can drink them. Which does keep me from gulping them down - can you say ice cream headache?
