  1. Hi.... I had my sleeve 4 month ago and am 20 years old :) I encourage u to have the surgery..... it's a hard decision to make but in my opinion it's worth it.... life is short and nobody deserves to be missing out on anything because of the way they look..... Think very well and make a list of the pros and cons.... Wish u best of luck :) keep us posted

  2. Hi... I'm two months post op and i lost 34 lbs since the day of the surgery... What bothers me is that i lost 30 lbs in the first month and lost only 4 in the second.... I feel really upset and discouraged because am losing weight so slowly .. Is it normal to lose only 4 lbs in an entire month? Or am i doing something wrong. Plz help!

  3. Everyone doesn't have to be so mean or sarcastic to the op. If her profile is correct, she's 19 years old.... I know I didn't know everything at 19, and I think it's brave of her to post her questions on here. In posting again in food and Nutrition, she was following the advice of a veteran poster on her last thread.

In any case, rmma1000: The main thing you need to realize is that by eating ramen, you are not only hurting your chances at weight loss, but you could possibly do damage to your sleeve as well. Definitely not something you want to risk. If you didn't get specific post-op diet instructions from your surgeon, then you can certainly search these forums for good information. As the others have said, Protein first, then veggies as you can fit them in. Check out some of the recipe forums for ideas, and be careful!

Thank u for standing by my side :) I appreciate your advice as well.

  4. This is a very generous offer, rmma1000, I very highly suggest you accept it and use it to help yourself.

(EDIT: I swear my grammar is getting worse as I get older!)

yeah, it is a very generous offer and I really appreciate it :)

    @SuNMooNStaRS816 thank u

  5. Uncooked ??? Are you kidding me? Is it the crunchiness you're craving? I just can't even imagine. I'm only 5 days out, but I don't care if I ever eat anything again... I know, that's going to pass, but my instructions are clear. Protein and Produce.

I don't get why u r being so sarcastic... I was as motivated as u 5 days out but now i just feel lost

  6. There's a bunch of us here who's doctors told them that with their new sleeve they have to prioritize what they eat. Always Protein first, veggies second, fruit if there's any room, then carbs if there's any room after that.

Did your surgeon not tell you this?

I know that but I'm really lost I can't seem to know how to adjust

  7. Nope, everything I've read/been told was to avoid Pasta, rice, etc. for at least 6 or so months...better to avoid for life.

As a side note, my nurse in the hospital told me about a guy who died after surgery. He had it done with another Dr (he was about 6 weeks out) and was told not to eat any pastas, rice, etc.

Well he couldn't resist and had some. Messed up his stomach bad and they couldn't get it closed up in time. He died on the ER table. She was literally in tears telling me about how it hit her hard.

U really had me scared there. I ate half a pack of ramen 2 days ago with no problem

  8. Um, I'm not sleeved yet. But - eating uncooked ramen which could expand in your sleeve? I'd think that would be a questionable choice. But, again. I'm not sleeved and not an expert.

Why, if you don't mind my asking, that particular choice of snack? Seems high in carbs and in general not nutrient rich. A month out, seems Proteins and liquids would be a priority? Don't mean that to sound snotty. Not how it's meant at all. Just wondering.

I know, that was a bad choice of Snacks but it was a momentary lapse. I should be more careful.
