  1. I've been on Syntax nectar (vanilla, chocolate & fuzzy naval) for 3 weeks solid. I was advised to look for whey Protein isolate as the first ingredient in my protein to ensure proper digestion, etc. I mix them with 1% milk and combine flavors. Unjury chicken Soup flavor has also saved me from too much sweetness. You can find them online at www.unjury.com (they also have a sample pack that comes with a shaker and a thermometer). They have unflavored as well to mix in crystal lite, etc. You have to get VERY creative but you can do it! Crystal Lite flavors are great with a fruit protein flavor. You will adjust to the taste. Keep telling yourself it's temporary and you WILL get through this! Trust me - I'm 3 weeks out and it's all that's sustained me. Best of luck to you!

  2. I was sleeved 8/26 so I'm just over 2 weeks and feeling better daily! Still on liquids only (water/protein shakes) and can't WAIT to move to shmooshy foods next week. Each day gets better and better. I'm not napping as much as before, swallowing is a breeze now (hurt like HECK at first). I'm down 29 lbs. total (10 post op, 19 pre) and have gone down a size already in clothes. Would love to stay in touch w/other August sleevers.

  3. Follow YOUR doctor's pre and post op plans to the letter. Don't be swayed by what others are doing on this sight. I found when I turn that part off, I do better. For example, some will have liquid only pre-op diets, others don't (I didn't). Some will be on liquids/protein shakes only for 1 week and then graduate, others don't. Listen to what your doc/clinic instructs you to do and stick with it. I have followed my instructions to a T and lost 19 lbs. before surgery and 8 lbs. post (including the extra weight I gained immediately after surgery from bloating and fluids). Don't 2nd guess it, just do it. Take all supplements they recommend and drink a TON of Water. Be prepared for exhaustion for a while. I'm just shy of 2 weeks post op, have 0 pain anymore but I'm so tired it's unbelievable. I allow myself to nap (which is very hard for me). You can do this!! Once you are through surgery it will be a blur and you can focus on the real work ahead.

  4. I'm one week post op yesterday and still very tired. I feel great but the exhaustion takes me by surprise. I'll get a little burst of energy and then have to lay down. I hear this lasts a while - give yourself plenty of time. It doesn't "feel" like a big surgery but it really is.

  5. Good decision, as hard as it may be. With friends like her, who needs enemies? Your TRUE friends are there for you, cheering you on every inch and pound you lose. Sounds like she could just be jealous, too. Move on. And CONGRATS on how far you've come!! Keep it up!

  6. Today is my last day of my pre-op diet, although my Center didn't put me on liquids only - just high Protein, LOW carb, no sugar, fruit, booze, etc. for a little over a week. I've lost 10 lbs since starting it and feel great. Since tonight will be my last "meal" (tomorrow is liquids only, Monday is surgery) I plan to relax a bit and enjoy myself. I'll be at a wedding and may even have a small glass of wine. You can put your mind to anything and be successful!

  7. I'm on a pre-op diet, prepping my liver for surgery. I've followed a very low carb program (20 grams or less) and huge amounts of Protein since last Thursday. I've lost 10 lbs. in a week. I'm drinking nectar shakes once a day, lot's of lean meats (salmon, shrimp, chicken, etc.), tons of Water and really watching the carbs. NO sugar, alcohol, grains, Pasta, rice, bread, etc. It's working. You can do it!
