  1. Surgery date was July 23rd and while my goal was 185, my nutritionist and others thought it was aggressive.

    I am 5'11

    Surgery Weight 287

    Original Goal 185 pounds

Weight as of today 180 pounds

New Goal - Maintain essentially current weight. Lost 100% of excess body weight plus a few pounds more

My picture up here is now 33 pounds ago! And up to that point it was the only picture I was comforttable with in years.

  2. I went from 225 to 150. 20w to 8-10. My arms and thighs are sagging. I'm 51 and think I'd like to loose another 20 and then get tucked, if insurance will pay.

I was told that insurance has tightened down tremendously on what they'll cover with the most common exception of major excess skin in e abdomen and only that if it is causing problems. I think documenting any problems will help getting things covered but it looks like a tough fight. I'd definitely suggest getting a plastic surgeons name from your bariatric surgeon. It's not too early for a consult.

  3. I had my Sleeve surgery done on 7/23 at 285 pounds. I'm am now at 189 pounds (down 96), my goal was 185 pounds which is close but now I am thinking just a few pounds lighter (perhaps 180-182)

Overall it's been a great success and I never have that completely out of control eating binges which were often and that feeling of being in control is terrific, I think that out of control feeling is probably something that people that have never grappled with being severely overweight just don't understand.

  4. All Time High 335 pounds

    Surgery Weight 285 pounds

    Today's Weight 191 pounds

    TOTAL LOST 94 pounds

According to my Dr, I have not lost 87% of my "Excess Body Fat". My goal has been and remains 185 just 6 more pounds down, but I'm not certain if I can or should get there. That said, I know my weight is pretty good now, and I don't want to move up an an ounce.

Biggest bumps along the way, gallbladder flair ups, pancreatitis related to gallbaldder - twice and had to have my gallbladder removed.

  5. Finally in 1-derland! Yay!!!!

    All time high 335 pounds

    Weight at Surgery 285 pounds

    Current Weight 195 pounds

    Down 90 pounds!

Getting under 200 was my #1 goal, #2 goal to 195 and I'm here so that rocks!

My ultimate goal of 185, now within 10 pounds and my nutritionist told me that she thought 195 was a good weight for me, and 185 may be too low? I know I don't need to lose more, but stomach needs some help - maybe surgical?

  6. My 6 month check up was thursday. I am and haven been stalled for aver a month... but dr says that all I need is to add some excersize in because I gave up when my gall bladder started hurting. Now I have to have that removed here soon.. ugh.

    Highest weight 322

    Starting weight at dr 307

    Surgery weight 297

    Current weight 237

Goal weight... not sure 210-195 dr says that's a good goal for me.

    I need motivation

Hi, I also have to have my gallbladder removed. I had my second attack (first one was 4 months ago) on my first day of vacation. I'm stable but I guess it's inevitable.

Weight is now coming off real slowly, but with the exception of the last week or so, I have been exercising regularly.

    Highest Weight 335

    Starting Weight at Dr 287

    Surgery Weight 285

    Current Weight 207

Goal Weight. Like you, also not sure but thinking 185

I've stalled several times, note its really getting tough to lose

  7. I haven't posted in awhile. It got slow for a bit but working hard exercising.

    (All time high 335 pounds)

Surgery weight 285 pounds on July 23rd

    Current weight 212 pounds

Down 73 since my surgery, hoping for a few more by New Years, goal is 185!

I just started trying some red meat, most everything else I've tried and it seems to make me full really fast.

  8. I am hoping to keep my upcoming WLS a secret from most people. I hate lying but can't tolerate hearing everyone's opinion

Do you think it's believable to I'm having my gallbladder removed? Then when I start losing weight I was going to say I had some complications with the surgery.

I was very open about my surgery but in hindsight, I wish I only shared it with the people I am closest with.

That said, don't curse yourself. I now have gallbladder issues - which can be pretty common after this surgery.

  9. Oh no! Are we going to turn this thread into a confessions about Halloween candy consumption? If so.....yes' date=' I did eat some candy...2 small tootsie rolls, 3 tiny butterfingers. They were yummy. By the way, my knees hurt like crazy today. Others have claimed that eating sugar can make them feel really bad. I have to admit that there is no other reason for my knees to hurt today except my dietary indiscretion![/quote']

Not confessions, I actually had no desire for it. S amazing I had to post. Last time I didn't have any Halloween candy I was probably an infant. (Usually its been a ton)

  10. I got on the scale this morning and i gained 4 lbs! Wth?? The same thing happened to me last month and I dnt know why. I was going along so good and then bang. The only thing I can think of is that I ran out of Protein drinks and I'm not getting my Protein in now. That happened last month too. I don't exercise like I should' date=' but I counteract that with cleaning. I clean hard and vigorously everyday, with and occasional walk on the treadmill here and there. And I dnt have a period due to an oblation I had and few years back, but I can tell when it's my time because my boobs hurt really bad. And when I gained last month it was around that time. But this time it isn't. Does everyone fluctuate 5 lbs? Has anyone else had this? Or am I doing something wrong? I can still only eat a few bites at a time so I dnt think I'm overheating :([/quote']

Not sure what you are down overall but in short term (a week os short term), lots of things cause fluctuations but so long as the trend is in tact. This has happened to me a few times and it does suck.

  11. I am almost 10 weeks out and have only lost 33 lbs since surgery 7/31. It is 3.3 lbs a week which should be considered good but not by my hospital! However' date=' my new NUT (the old one moved) said due to my 42 lb pre-op loss that I was probably plateauing as my body adjusted. 29 she said anyday I should start seeing more rapid loss.

I do need to exercise more but my work hours suck and I can only workout on days off whish is 2 days a week. I want to get a more fixed schedule (why I am looking for a new job) so I can exercise more regularly.

I have had to buy new clothes though. Out of 30/32s and into solid 26/28![/quote']

The biggest exercise I do regularly is walking, it's trite but it is helping :)

  12. HW-277; pre lap-band in 2006

    SW-222; Sleeve date 7/16/13

    CW-186.3

Extremely happy that I made the decision to revise from band to sleeve. Sometimes wish I was losing faster; but glad to be steadily losing and hopefully will have fewer loose skin issues since listing more slowly.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST

Having done both, I was curious of any major things in how you feel that are different. Thanks and congrats!

  13. My gall bladder was removed yesterday. I was sleeved June 4' date=' 2013. Pain like a stitch in my right side under my rib cage. It turned out to be a large stong trapped in the neck of the bladder. Surgery and rrecovery were less than 1 1/2 hours. I was released 2 hours later.[/quote']

I thought they at least kept you overnight? Please let us know how you are doing on the next few days! I'm glad that its been going well so far.

  14. I'm with SerendipityHappens. Granted I dealt with GB issues for years but when I was in the ER it was horrid. Morphine kept the pain at bay' date=' but only a level 3-4 and when I went to the surgeon a few days later I was still in pain. My surgery took over an hour longer than expect because I was days away from gangrene, he said it was hard and stiff and that I had been very sick a long time and I had just grown accustom to it. I told my surgeon at my 1 month follow up that I was in labor with my son 2.5 hours and came home with a sweet baby but I was in labor with my gallbladder for 6 hours before they gave me drugs and days on Oxycodone before I had surgery and I came home with nothing. Like you said you are having an MRI and you are hoping to push it 10 days. Obviously surgeon knows best but if you aren't dealing with a raging infection you will probably be OK it is so hard to know until they have a clear picture.[/quote']

    First, thank you for responding!

It started in the middle of the night just 3 nights ago (Sat night/Sunday morning) with 103 temp and chills and saw Dr on call at my PCP office. In 24 hours after an ultrasound and 1 day on antibiotics the fever was at bay and the ultrasound looked like there was going to ultimately be an issue but nothing acute. One theory is that I passed a gallstone. Blood cultures showed my levels out of whack setting off the sirens.
