  1. Good luck today you guys. Just imagine, when you wake up, surgery will be over and you'll start the next leg of your journey. I'm tomorrow at 9:30. Right behind you.
  2. Prayers for you all
  3. I'm scheduled for 8/8 too. I'm nervous and excited too. Good luck.
  4. Anthem. My husband works at the University of Kentucky (go Wildcats!). We switched to this policy do I could have the surgery.
  5. I called pre cert. I identified myself and told them I was following up on a review for pre certification. When they told me it was still in review, I asked at what stage, I.e., who is reviewing and how long they had been reviewing my file. I then asked the date they received my file and what type of deadline there was that the review be completed. Then I called them each afternoon until the review was completed. I am a paralegal in the Health Care Department of a law firm and was very comfortable with pushing each time. I'm also a Leo, so that probably had a lot to do with it too
  6. My insurance company said they had up to 15 business days to decide. They took about 11. But i harrassed them every Dsy I'm scheduled for Thursday.
  7. I've been doing the ore surgery diet for about 4 weeks. No sugar and under 33carbs. Today is my first of 2 days of the liquid diet before surgery on Thursday. I never thought I would miss chewing so much. A little hungry but not starving but just want o chew on something (I've been chewing gum -not cutting it). The coffee table is starting to look good right now:)
  8. Tjohnson, best of luck today. It'll be over soon. God bless.
  9. PattGee, I am scheduled for surgery Thursday. Start my liquid pre op tomorrow. My dr told me to take milk of mag too. I thought he said tomorrow night, which is 2 days before surgery. How close to surgery do you have to take it?
  10. My sleeve date is also 8/8. You can add sf jello to your list. And when you hit phase 2, you can have sf hot cocoa and protein shakes. I went to Walmart yesterday and picked up things I would need thru stage 3. Be sure to get protein shakes/powder. My dr allows those in stage 2. He says in stage 2 you need 60-80 g of protein per day minimum. The nutritionist said the drinks or powder should have less than 5 carbs and mre than 15 g protein per serving. Usually a serving size of poder is 1 scoop. Wishing you luck. God bless.
  11. I don't know what to say. Everybody took all the good words . You look great. Would luv to gear about your surgery, etc, especially your diet and exercise over those 4 months. I'm getting sleeved Thursday and I'm praying for the same results
  12. Wow! You look unbelievable. You look like a different person. You're beautiful. Way to go.
  13. Think you have some narrowing? My doc said if you do, it's an easy fix. They will do another endoscopy and stretch the tube that drains your stomach a little. Apparently this is not too uncommon. I'm sorry you've had to go through this. Call your doctor.
  14. I am scheduled for my sleeve on 8/8. I have RA and fibro and take a lot of pills. I can't swallow them with liquid only. Always have to eat a bite to push them down. Nervous that after my sleeve, I won't be able to swallow my meds. Would like information, suggestions, thoughts. Thanks.
  15. I also have RA and fibro. I take a ton of meds, including steroids and . I have had days where I couldn't walk, times where I gave slept 25-30 hours at a time (minus going to the bathroom). Also have osteoarthritis in y knees. When I first started the pre op diet 25 days ago, I weighed 410 pounds (I'm 5"3'). I'm down 11 pounds and feeling some better. I think the food itself that I've been eating has helped so much. I will be on a liquid diet tuesday and Wednesday and will be sleeved on Thursday. I sure hope the surgery doesn't cause the RA or the fibro to flare.
  16. I am scheduled for 8/8 in Lexington, Ky. I have been on the pre-surgery diet for 25 days. First week was rough. Not counting fat or sugar. Just up to 30 carbs daily. Have lost 11 pounds. First 3-4 days were the worst. Saving grace has been Atkins chocolate / peanut butter bars (2 carbs), EAS chocolate fudge protein drinks (3 carbs) and pork rinds (0 carbs). I will start a liquid diet on Tuesday and surgery on Thursday. Anybody else scheduled soon at St Joseph East in Lexington?
  17. Supermom, great job! I'm getting sleeved on the 8th too. Best of luck!
  18. My husband has IGA nephoprathy. He's had 2 kidney transplants. If you're not getting all your fluids, your creatinine will go up. What's your creatinine if you done mind me asking?
  19. Sheri, that's where I'm having my surgery. Who was your dr?
  20. The insurance company as approved my surgery. My surgery is 8/8! Just want to get it over.
  21. I was lucky. Insurance didn't require a wait. A little nervous. Have you done any testing etc? I wanted the RNY but because of meds I take for arthritis they are doing a sleeve. Why are they wanting to do the RNY?
