  1. I saw my dr and NUT today. I'm 1 month out and lost 22 pounds since surgery. I've been keeping my cal limit to 850 a day. My NUT told me that this was way too little and that I shouldn't even count calories. She said I should be esting between 1200-2000 daily and drinking 3-4 Protein Drinks each dyay. She said that my body was in starvation, which explains why I'm so tired and dizzy. She said I could have probably almost doubled my weight loss if I had been eating enough. You can bet I'll be esting more Protein starting now.

  3. I plan my day during the work week. Each morning, I get up and grab a bottle of Water to sip on while I'm getting ready for work and commuting. I try to be finished with the bottle by the time I get to work. I open my 2nd bottle at work and try to finish it before lunch. For Breakfast, I have a 45 calorie yogurt and take my meds. Around 10, I have a Protein Drink worth 30 grams of Protein. At lunch I really try to pour on the protein, i.e., a can of tuna (in water - drained) with 2 oz of salsa. In the afternoon, I try to polish off a 3rd bottle of water and around 3, I get in 1 more protein drink (30 g. protein). I also keep sugar free Jello just in case I need it. When I get home, I try to come up with another high protein item. Sometimes a piece of steak or maybe some light cheese. I always try to allow for a snack before bed. Sometimes a couple of sugar free popsicles or even a Protein Bar, depending on my calories for the day. I usually stay around 850 calories and about 90+ g. of protein for the day. Yesterday for dinner I had grilled zuccini slices with garlic and salt. Then I topped them with pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni and little bit of light shredded cheese. Was really good. I do struggle some days with what to eat. Sometimes I'm just sick of meat :)

  4. Robo, can I ask how old you are and when you had surgery? We all come on here and complain:). If this wasn't important to you/us, we wouldn't bother. I'm one of those who cannot take just a bite of something. If I do, I'm going to eat it. Get rid of the junk food. I eat lots of sf Popsicles. Are you far enough out that you can have Protein bars? Good way to get your protein and enjoy a sweet. Just make sure they have plenty of protein and watch the sugar and carbs. My fav is the Peanut Butter Atkins bar. It has 15 g protein and 2 carbs. 250 calories though, so I don't eat them every day. Eat scrambled eggs. So what if you eat 3. Gotta be better than the junk. Head hunger is the worst part. When it hits, t try to remind myself why I am where I am and what I'm going to do about it. Take your Vitamins. Your body has to ave them and you'll feel better after a couple of weeks. You can do this. You made a huge decision to get healthy. You got this, girl :)

  5. Hi Robo,

Don't beat yourself up. Tomorrow is a new day. Work toward getting the Protein and fluids. You can do it. We are all in this together - you're not alone. Talk to your mom. She can help you with your choices. We all get hungry. If I tried to get through the day with just a deviled egg and fluids, I would probably eat the dog :) Are you drinking fluids with or within an hour after esting? Great place to start again. You can do it. If you want to chat, keep posting. And you're always welcome to message me. It really helps to not have to go it alone.

  6. I weigh myself every morning. Just like the girl said, bathroom first, then scale. Tomorrow will make 4 weeks since my surgery. My whole day is based on what that scale says each morning. If its down, then I'm up...if it's up, then I'm down. I have lost 17 pounds since surgery. That seems so little. The only thing I'm not doing right is exercise. I am very heavy and also have RA and fibro, so just moving around a little is painful. I know I have to start, but I keep putting it off. I HATE THE SCALE.
