  1. Really I'm not. Just wondering if anybody else's husband/wife does this. First off, let me say that my husband has been so supportive. However, whatever I'm allowed to eat he eats it too. Then when I go to the frig to get something, it is gone. We buy whatever he wants at the grocery and he eats that too. He has quit buying cartons of sodas because he is"cutting back" on cals too. However he will stop at the gas station and pay $1.79 per bottle (3 bottles at a time, which lasts 1 day). He refuses to buy himself sweets but then drinks my Protein drinks and eats my Protein Bars, which are very expensive. I just don't get it.

I posted the above this evening and was referred to this topic. You guys crack me up :). I feel much better now.

  3. I had my surgery 8/8. I have both fibro and RA. I take Cymbalta (and a bunch of other meds). The only thing I had to stop taking was my anti inflammatory. My doc said they didn't want me to get an ulcer in my pouch. I've cut ally felt better since I've lost a little weight and eating healthier. I had an appt w my rheumy this past week and he says the Bari docs all have different opinions about the anti nflammatories but he didn't think they would be a problem. I've opted to not use them right now. I still take the prednisone and methotrexate as well as the Cymbalta.

  5. I try not to get too down when I don't lose what I think I should have or, Heaven forbid, gain a pound. I really struggle with being afraid of screwing this up. I guess because I have lost so much over the years, only to put it back on and then some. I feel like this s my last chance. I want to feel better last Sunday, I was so depressed because the scale hadn't moved that I went to bed at 5:45 in the afternoon. I heard myself say to my husband that how is it that i eat next to nothing and have mutilated myself by having the majority of my stomach removed in a dangerous surgery and I'm still a loser. My brain knows the how's and whys, but it's so hard to not feel that way. I'm trying to work on this. I gave so much to lose and I'm terrified I'll never get there.

  6. I posted this info before, but people thought I misunderstood my NUT. Nope, wrote it down. I'm a paralegal so I am used to being detail oriented :). I had an appt with my NUT last week. I was frustrated that I had stalled. I had been eating about 850 calories per day. I've lost 22 pounds since being sleeved on 8/8. She said I should not be restricting. Said my body was in starvation because I wasn't eating enough cals. She doesn't count the Protein in food right now - only Protein Drinks. I was getting 60 g and she said it should be at least 80 g. She told me that I shouldn't even worry about the cals but if I absolutely had to have a number to eat between 1200-2000 cals each day. She said it would take a week or so to start losing again because my body had to rebuild the muscle and tissue I lost while restricting. Right now he has me eating mostly protein. No veggies yet. Said at least 64 oz fluids, at least 80 g. Liquid Protein and to try to keep my carbs under 30 or so.

  7. That's where I get mine. I tried the vanilla. Not really fond of it. Kind of had a caramel taste. Too sweet. Don't know what you are allowed to eat. Every NUT is different. I am 6 weeks out. I eat meat, meat meat :). Can add veggies in 2 weeks. I can't count any food Protein toward my daily goal - only protein drinks. There's some good Protein Bars out there that are tasty. Found a strawberry yogurt from Dannon caled Kight and Fit. It's diabetic friendly so low carbs and sugar. Small container though. Had some bacon tonight for the first time. Too rich. Made me kind of queasy. eggs are good. Sometimes I use canned tuna and add some salsa for flavor.
