  1. My surgery is on the 7th but I plan to arrive at the hotel on the 5th. I'll be flying in from the east and will feel better with a day or so of aclamating. So I expect to see you, ktgrace!
  2. I feel like I steped off a cliff. The pit of my stomach is fluttery and I can't weem to accomplish much. My mind is fine with it but I'm not so sure about the rest of me.
  3. I'm nervous too. After I sent in the paperwork and the deposit I felt like I'd just stepped off a cliff. I think we will both be fine but it is a big step.
  4. BacktoBarb78, I'm looking forward to seeing you there! I just faxed my information so I'mm all set. Lori
  5. Ringo4, I am scheduled in October with Dr. Ariel Ortiz. My impression after reading around the forum, is that his people are happier, have less complications and lose better than others. this is a non scientific opnion. I have not read everything posted. There may be people who disagree with me.
  6. I just booked for October 7 with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico.
  7. HoosierGirl, thank you for the link to your blog. Your detaild account of the experience helped a lot.
  8. 2Btrim, What an awful experience! I think you are right about the health care in Mexico. Ours is in such a state of flux these days. My sister and Brother in law who are both doctors researched the possibilites and both had their sleeves done by Doctor Ortiz. They said they found more health proffessionals go to him. That is where I plan to go.
  9. I think people feel shame because they can't lose the weight on their own.
  10. I'm planning on early October in Mexico. Just waiting for DH to verify his schedule so I can schedule.
  11. Both my sister and my brother in law who are doctors had their sleeves done by Dr. Ortiz. they are 1 year and 6 months out and are delighted. I hope to have mine there in early October. they did lots of research and feel this is the best route. their daughter had hers done in the US and had much more pain and a longer healing time.
  12. If any of you are still here and have had the surgery, how did it go? I'm considering the sleeve and get something. I don't know if it's keloids or hypertrophic scars. I'm not at all worried about cosmetics, but about the internal scaring. Will it make me more prone to strictures? I'm looking at Mexico and have sent the question to the doctor but I think he is traveling and I have not yet hear back. So how did you do?
