  1. the notebook and marco polo if you have netflix.
  2. I have never had anyone tell me this but if they had gone through the surgery they would know that this is far from being easy and we did not make this choice without serious thought. When I hear people say this I think to myself what is easy about admitting that you need help. No one wants to ask for help of any kind, and admitting that you have a problem and having the courage to seek out help makes you a very smart person because for once in your life you are putting your needs before anyone else to be healthy and you do not have to apologize to anyone for that. Hold your head up high you deserve it.
  3. Congrats to you all, stay focus and take one day at a time the weight will come off, remember you did not gain the weight overnight. I am 7 months post opt you will gave stalls but remember as long as your eating right everything will be ok . Good luck.
  4. They are a great source of Protein and help with the sweat tooth craves I like the strawberry cheesecake one.
  5. I had rny and have 5 and they are so light and small they are not even noticeable, LOL my surgeon did a great job.
  6. I agree with the above statements your health is important I would just get a letter from your doctor informing them that you are sheduled for surgery the letter does not have to explained that you are having weight lost surgery either my letter just stated that I would be off work for a specific amount of days under my doctors care to get my diabetics.high blood pressure under control.
  7. Im sorry to hear about your illness I hope it clears up quickly and there is no delay in your procedure.
  8. Jersrose43 I like your statement that they were never friends in the first place, I am now looking at what our friendships was truly based on and now see it for what it is, she was never truly my best friend I was hers but she was not mine. As you stated above a friend supports one another through thick and thin, not when its convenience or to soot ones self. My weight made her feel better about herself and now that it is gone she does not feel great anymore, her lost.
  9. Congrats on your weight loss, I am 7 months post opt and I am feeling great , I work out 5 days a week for 90 minutes and I am now back in my dress, and I must say i look great in them , lol going from a size 3 x to a size large dress makes me smile everyday, although I am getting tons of attention with the weight lost some people who I thought were my friends showed their true color, envy, and haters, but it is ok because I have met so many new friends at the gym and their great.
  10. Congrats on your progress and I concur your attitude is just like mine are now I would have never thought that I would become a gym buff but I am, who would have thought that I would be hitting the gym 5 days a week. a person that was 332 pounds had severe knee and back problems and now I walk in the gym with stride and proud, yes I can do , I so agree with your statement that no is not in my vocabulary anymore, I will see rock climbing in my future and yes I will get there. I have learned to crawl before I walk and put one step in front of the other and I can do anything that I put my mind to. Keep us posted my friend.
  11. LOL I agree with the above statements the only thing that I miss is not being able to sleep on my side because i was a side sleeper but now a back sleeper, but I recently bought a body pillow and now can sleep on my side again. The comments and stares you are going to get, it is amazing how with this weight lost I have men opening up doors for me and going out of their way to be nice but I agree with all the statements above I have been happily married for 20 years and he loves me unconditionally and I would not changes him for anything we are both lucky.
  12. Samantha Ann you are so right I guess going through life trying not to be noticed and now you are the focus of everyones attention . I agree with your statement I am really vocal now and will not let anyone use me as a doormat. I have the '' in-crowd'' inviting me to their function and including me in things now but I decline, although my body has changed I have not forgotten how they mistreated and ignored me when I was heavier. So I am now enjoying my new friends who like me for me and support my weight loss and dedication for me being healthy.
  13. LisaCo yes it is they do not know how to handle your new change, people who I thought were my friends were not, they are now treating me different instead of being happy that I am getting healthy they are haters and blaming me for their insecurities, it was ok that I was the fat one in the group that they had no competition , now they see me as a threat because I am getting so much attention and being notice. Hang in there you will meet new positive people and ignore the stupid ones remember you do not have to apologize to anyone for being healthy.
  14. Maggie0210 you are so right thank you for your support and kind words, I'm staying focus , learning to enjoy life , and I have ever right to be healthy and make my health a priority to myself and my family because as you stated they are who matter and true friends would understand that and only want the best for me as I for them.
  15. My best xmas gift that I received was my beats wireless headphone set that I can used at the gym, I told my hubby that I wanted a pair but I did not expect him to buy them so soon< i was one happy gal, he told me that I earned them he is so proud of my weight lost and my dedication to work out. The best gift that we gave was our children wanted a maltese puppy and they got one for xmas.
  16. Hi I know there would be changes with myself family and friends but wow, I am truly seeing jealousy with my once thought best friends, they are acting hurt and mad that I have lost weight making statements that I am making them feel insecure with my weight lost and I even had one say it was my fault that her boyfriend and her got into a fight and broke up WTF. I told them all my weight lost is no reflection on them but a reflection on me being healthy there insecurities are their own and their own alone, I am not responsible for other peoples action or ignorants, but I am not apologizing to anyone regarding me being healthy. True friends love you and accept you uncondtional and if they can not accept that then I am better off without them. I guess they feel I am competition to them because I am getting all of the attention and they are not go figure. My husbands just says baby forgot those haters but it hurts that they truly feel this way. But positive speaking I have met new friends at he gym and they are great.
  17. Hello everyone hang in there focus on one day at a time the weight will come off I am 7 months post opt and remember you did not gain weight overnight so you are not going to loose it overnight this is a life time commitment loosing weight slowly allows your body to adjust as well as allow you time to work on tone your skin as well. Although the scale may not be moving there are inches and changes happening in your body. As long as the scale is going downward and not upward you are making progress, how do you feel? Focus on one day at a time you can do this.
  18. First I would like to say congrats and welcome to the losers bench, I agree with the above statements , I would just walk until you received the permission from your doctor because as stated your outsides may look heel but it takes the inside alot longer . I was not approved to exercise at the gym until I was 8 weeks post opt and I was approved for aqua aerobics only. Good luck my friend and keep us posted.
  19. I agree with the above statement this is normal, you have made the choice to be healthy focus on one day at a time and get out of that house , take a walk around your neighborhood, go and walk around the mall, go window shopping , and ask your doctor for a support group, you can do this and we are here for you. Good luck and keep us posted, also buy a journal I write in mine everyday and this has helo me as well. Once I joined the gym I began meeting new friends that are positive.
  20. Yes I was told it is the first 7 months and no matter what you do you loose weight. I think of every day as a new challenge to make good choices and to exercise, so even when I do not see the scale going down I know the inches are coming off. Good luck everyone and congrats to everyone success.
  21. LOL I agree with the above statements it is if your cushon is gone, I normally sleep on my side but can not any longer because my bones hurt as well as sit to long my butt hurts. I am always cold and wear clothes in layers as well as I have a blanket and heater in my office at work.
  22. Thats great, keep up the great work, and welcome to the losers bench this journey is so well worth it.
  23. Congrats you look great, keep up the great work, I feel like you do a princess, when I went to my support group my support group specialist did not even know it was me. I went from a size 3 x and wear a size large dress now and I am loving the new me. I am looking forward to 2015 and hitting target weight of 170, I want to try rock climbing.
  24. I havent worn dress in over 18 years, but now I am again thanks to God and this mew begining. Im looking forward to 2015 and hitting my goal of 170 pounds by my 1 year anniversary. Although the scale is not moving I Know that i am still loosing inches. I continue to exercise 5 times per week. What are you daily calories intake right now?
