  1. But what I'm saying is that ... well, I guess I'm tired  of all the pressure of all the rules we have to follow to be sucessful in this journey.

I'm following too many rules already... keeping track of all those ounces of Water is just the tip of the iceberg. so I call it BS.

The easiest way is to find a container that will hold the water/fluids you want to drink in a day. And then make sure to drink it. A pitcher for all of it or maybe a few shaker bottles with ounces printed on the sides. Instead of trying to add up a bunch of different glasses, just drink all of your "container". You can even pour it into a glass, just make sure to finish off the whole "container". No mental math required if you know you have to drink that "container" each day, period. ;)

  2. Great! I have often wondered if getting sleeved (or any WLS) "together" avoids some of the emotional pitfalls of one person doing it and shifting the dynamic of the relationship? Obviously I know the "bad relationship gets worse and good relationship gets better" thought... but I wonder if both persons having WLS puts it on a different playing field? The "bad" stories on all the forums seem to be when only one makes massive changes. I haven't really seen many where both do it and both make massive changes. I mean it will be a wee tad harder to pull any passive aggressive crap when you both can't eat anything and you both physically feel the same way.

  3. There is a saying that I see on alot of the forums:

You are having surgery on your stomach, not your head.

The most successful long term sleevers deal with their head "issues" BEFORE they have surgery and keep on working on them afterwards. I would highly suggest talking to a GOOD therapist, one that deals with bariatric patients and/or eating disorders/disordered eating.

    Good luck!

  4. Just an update....first off, last week I logged into Plentyoffish, and saw my ex on there! WEIRD! It really made me wonder why he was acting the way he was, if he thought it was appropriate to go back on a dating site 3 weeks after our breakup. Either he was also not really into me anymore or he's looking for a major rebound! Anyway, that was pretty awkward.

Secondly, I've been getting tons of messages online - very different from when I was 200+, I must say - and have gone on like a dozen first dates, but there's only one guy I've wanted to see again after our first date. I've had some doubts about his level of interest in me last week and thought that maybe that was it, but then things seemed to pick up again after. In fact, today we're going on a road trip out of town; I think this is like our 5th or 6th date. We'll see how it goes, it's a 3-hr drive one way, so it'll definitely be the longest we've spent together to date - and without an opportunity to assume a horizontal position if we run out of things to talk about, so there's a challenge, lmao.

BTW, sex when you're not fat is awesome, hehe, I'm doing all kinds of crazy stuff that I would never dare to do before (handstands, you name it - thanks, Crossfit!). :P

Or I tried MultiQuote and that didn't work. LOL

  5. Ok I know this thread is over a year old, but I stumbled across it and read it all. Now curiosity is killing me.

OP how did that road trip go? How are you doing now? Did the ex ever get "weirder"? My thought was he might be stalking you on the dating sites.

And to the other ladies... did you all end up staying with your SO's?

  6. Sleeved with Dr Stephen Burpee in Tucson. He is fantastic.

I am seeing his practice partner Dr. Chiasson in Tucson with The Southern Arizona Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery. They go through Northwest Medical Center which is "Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence". They train other surgeons.

So far so good. Insurance is paying mine. Yes the cash price is roughly $18k.

I have also heard people like Dr. Robin Blackstone in Phoenix.
