  1. Hello everyone! B) I did not have surgery in NC, but I did just relocate here. :)

Does anyone know of any "open to anyone" support groups or WLS friendly PCP's in the Triangle area at all? I am several thousand miles away from my Bariatric Surgeon now and need to find someone local that isn't a complete idiot. ;) I assume other Bari Doc's will not take on patients that they did not personally operate on, but if anyone has a good PCP or Gyno or knows of a local support meeting that lets any surgeons clients in, that would be AWESOME!

Anyone know if Duke has "open" support meetings?

  2. Surgery was 9/3 at about 2:30 pm. The first night was kind of rough. I think mostly because I only got pain meds upon request. If I had them on a regular interval, it probably would have stayed at a more tolerable level. Even so, the pain was mostly from the gas. The incisions are tender and my entire abdomen is black and blue and sore, but not super painful. Yesterday I was able to start Clear liquids around noon. Walked and sipped all day. Things were pretty good until I switched from iv morphine to liquid Lortab. I've had tablet Lortab many times and never had it in liquid form - turns out I'm allergic. We've got that all straightened out and I should be heading home this afternoon.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}}} Hope you are feeling better and they get your pain better under control!

5 more days for me, 12 for hubby. We both took the pre-op class together yesterday and I did all my pre-admission testing (the ones the hosptial wants to admit you with). So I have been poked, bled, EKG'd and xrayed.

Took all my measurements today too. B)

EVERYONE REMEMBER TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS AND BEFORE PHOTOS!!!!!!!! :D

  4. Low carb and which "diet" is best is NOT the issue you have here.

The real issue is that you have taught your husband that this is ok to talk to you this way. Not knowing you or your husband, and having no idea what his internal motivation is (whether he feels he is helping or is being passive agressive or abusive)... the issue is that he keeps doing it.

We teach people how to treat us.

Time to teach him a new way. ;)
