  1. Yes ma'am, your sleeve us telling you "no thanks!" I encourage you to listen to your body and not your mind(aka stomach, appetite, craving center) so that you don't end up wondering" how on earth have gained these pounds back??" Lol the answers pretty simple, ...by not following the program.

Thank you for your encouragement, I appreciate the support. I'm here also should you need any yourself. ...I wish you the best and hope you are doing well.

  2. I am totally in the same situation! I have felt like I really failed at this because after the year mark I stopped losing. I lost 80 lbs but have now gained back almost five lbs in the past month or so. I'm 17 months out now. I also feel hungry a lot. The carbs have snuck back in too. We had some financial changes so I'm not able to grocery shop like I did at first. Buying the meats and veggies that I "should" be eating is getting too expensive so I've had to fill in with cheaper meals to get everyone fed. I realize I'm Gonna have to work around that too My niece has bought me a few cases of Protein Shakes so I'm going to try just drinking those and eating one meal. I'm only in a size 18-16(on some) so I feel like I've wasted the money for the surgery if I can't get losing again to get closer to my goal. I need to lose between 50-65 more I have been guilty of not tracking my food again. Going to get back at that too. Anyway I haven't been on here in a while either cuz I felt like I had given up. Gonna change that too.

  3. @@Emilee68 here is the link with lots of info: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/291240-52-links-and-info/ It's at the top of the vets forum. FYE put that together and made it a sticky should it should be easy to find. Feel free to ask questions on that link and those of us that do 5:2 will try to answer them and support you along the way.

The link for that is no longer there when I clicked on it

  4. Im 15 months out and I've been stuck at 162 since Christmas. Im getting very discouraged and depressed like I was before I was sleeved. Im willing to try anything

I'm in the same frame of mind as you are. Been stuck at 186 with only a 6 lb loss since January ! The hungers back with a vengeance and so is that looming feeling of failure. I am grateful for this thread cuz I will check out the more detailed link and give the 5:2 a try. Was also having difficulty finding specifics on it. It helps for me if it's specific. I've been doing things basically on my own. No nut since before surgery and no follow ups with surgeon Since about six months out. Too far from where I live sooo... No trainer or gym membership cuz I can't afford those either. I do have a recumbent bike which I use daily and some five lb weights which I need to use more. Also got the Zumba videos but haven't tried those yet.....I need to...just been talkin myself out if it. Tried when I was at heaviest and guess I'm still doubting I can do it.

  5. Am I glad to hear that others face this same struggle! Not glad u r struggling by any means...just good to know it's not just me! I was really feeling like I had failed at this journey, even if I kept those thoughts to myself, they were there. I've been stuck between 186-189 for over three months!!!! Started exercising ....nothing.....more exercising ...nothing...have been keeping food log and will start today by doing the Protein only. shakes and one meal. Also will increase my Water. Here's hoping I can budge that stupid scale!!!!

  6. This should be and for the most part is a place of encouragement and support it has been my only support system and I'm grateful it's here. As someone who most of her adult life has dealt with those having the "if u want to lose weight just don't eat" school of thought I try to gauge my comments accordingly putting myself in others shoes so to speak before commenting We are much stronger together than alone. Thanks for all the information and support that's found here

  7. I think it's normal to be anxious about this life changing decision. But keep in mind. IT IS LIFE CHANGING! I fretted over all the what ifs I could think of before surgery day too this is the most important thing I've every decided to do for myself. It's the best decision I've ever made. You will find yourself saying that also. You'll see!

  8. Slowly and barely steady here. Before surgery wt 270. Sw 261. At six months 201.8. Hit onederland at month seven 198.6.its like once I hit under 200 mark things just stopped. Since then losing only 1-4 lbs a month weight this morn 186.6 will be one year in two days. I still need to lose at least 60 more lbs. down 82.4 lbs total so far
