Does your throat make noises after you drink?
kj44 replied to MissErika's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine does this too and I wondered if it happened to others. Especially when I first lay down at bedtime. Sounds loud to me and usually makes me smile cuz I remember the reason for it is my decision to change. :-) -
Do you think one slice...
kj44 replied to ginger429's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made myself one using flat out light ( found by the tortillas) topped with some sauce parm onion turkey pepperoni and mozz. One made four servings for me and gave me my pizza fix -

Yes. I was there too. I found myself resentful that everyone else could eat. Had a fair share of pity parties with me as only guest. But it DID get better. I'm 5 months out now down 55 lbs and no longer am envious of them lol. Hang in there and drink ur shake while u cook. It helps.

Unbelievable charge for VSG to my insurance
kj44 replied to Bridget312001's topic in Insurance & Financing
Same crap here! They were billed over 75000 when I was quoted 8-10 thousand. Also keep receiving bills even tho supposedly my out of pocket yearly max is 3000. I call BS*** -
So gonna find that brush! I'm losing my hair at an alarming rate.... Like freak out rate! I'm taking the biotin also for two months now and I get my protein in most days. Here's hoping!!

Another former diet-coke -aholic here too. I started about 4 months before surgery weaning myself off them so that a month prior I was not drinking any. Mio energy also was my bestie thru that. Unfortunately for me post- op I can't stand the taste of the sweeteners. They taste so bitter to me now. Soooo. I drink only ice water( figi or evian for some reason r the ones I like now). Occasionally I still think about diet coke with that first love feeling..... But I know I'm better off without it.

Are you getting a new driver's license or work ID since losing weight or once you reach goal?
kj44 replied to buplee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh. And where I'm at in Texas is a relatively small town. So wont have to wait more than 15 min when the time comes. Sweet ! -

Better than myfitnesspal?

I use the lose it app. I found it easy to use and love that I can scan barcodes to input the info. Also love I can input recipes and get total stats too. I can customize the nutrients I want to keep track of too. And see at a glance where I stand protein wise. -
What an awesome moment!! Congrats to u! Can't wait to have that moment myself!

Well this morning I got gut-checked by my grandson. I was babysitting this morning and was letting him and his little brother draw and color. Logan's 6 and Luke is 3. Anyway they r drawing away and Logan says "I'm gonna draw u grandma". Then he says. "I'm gonna make you fat ,cuz ur fat". I. Just smiled and said"ok baby". But inside I sure felt like someone kicked me in the gut. I know I've still a way to go, but with 55 lbs down I had just convinced myself that you could see a difference. I know he's only 6 but I also know he was just calling it like he sees it. I'm not upset with him just myself for letting my guard down. I've keep it up for most of my adult life and never let the hurt feelings show when the comments or glances came my way. Hopefully I will continue to lose and by next year be at or near my goal. I know.... This too shall pass As long as I let it. Starting wt 270 Current wt. 215 Surgery date. 4/4/13
