I got approved!!!

I finally heard back from Aetna and I got approved!!!! ????

What do you have to include when your doing an appeal? Did your surgeon do a peer-to-peer review with the medical director before having to do an appeal? Wanted to get a jump start in case I get denied. Thanks for any information anyone can give me!

I am patiently waiting to hear back from Aetna about my surgery. The waiting is driving me crazy !!!

It did because I got retested for H-pylori and it came back positive after I finished taking my PrevPak. My PCP ordered me to take an endoscopy to make sure that the test was not a false positive test. My surgeon's office did not schedule me to do an endoscopy when they schedule my other various test I had to do.

When I did my initial testing with the surgeon's office they told me there I had H-Pylori. I showed no symptoms and it was news to me that I got diagnosed with it. That PrevPac is nasty but what I can tell you is if it doesn't work you have to get an endoscopy and a biopsy has to be done of your stomach to double check you don't have. You will be fine!

I tested positive twice for h-pylori. I know have to go to a gastroenterologist to see what's going on with my stomach. I never was tested by my PCP and if I was not going for this surgery I don't know how long I would've had this issue. I have not shown any symptoms of having this. Hopefully this doesn't derail my gastric sleeve procedure.

Good luck on your surgery! How did you do on your liquid diet? How long did it take for your insurance to approve you?

I am new to this site and looking for people to help me along my weight loss journey. I have one more appointment with surgeon and dietitian before my paperwork is submitted to Aetna. Then the dreaded waiting game begins.
