missindiana317 got a reaction from kvlasy in regret
I am quickly getting over this feeling of regret. I had to remind myself y i had this done in the 1st place. Now all i want to do is loose this weight. Any ideas or tips on what to eat for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I am on week 3. I am cleared to eat meat. I dont want to gain any weight back. I have lost 18lbs so far.. i am trying to get more liquids in. I just started walking yesterday.

Hang in there. I am going on 7 weeks post op and I still struggle with what I chose to do. I appreciate the positive aspects of my journey, but I still struggle with keeping liquids and food down and figuring out what I should eat daily. I heard everyone around me talk about how great their sleeve experience was and just assumed that my experience would be similar. However that was not the case for me. I regret that had had to do this to loose the weight, however I appreciate the tool offered to me. It will get better, and you will feel better as the weeks pass. Continue to focus on learning to get those fluids and Protein in. Take care of yourself and give yourself time to heal. Measure your progress by how you feel week to week. Don't compare yourself to others. I have to remind myself that I am unique and so is my journey. Same for you. You will feel better over time, but keep communicating with others about your feelings(it helps). Best of luck.

It wasn't until the 5-6 week mark that I really felt like myself again. I still burp all of the time and have diarrhea about half of the time. But, I'm down 48 lbs and feel better than I have in a very long time. It will get better - I promise. Some of us take longer than others to recover. I know it can be confusing when you read the stories from people who seem not to be fazed or affected at all - I think that's the exception rather than the rule but I'm no expert. Hang in there and let us know in a couple weeks if you are feeling differently.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I was so excited for my surgery, but the day before i had a major panic attack. I cried and cried all night, didnt sleep a wink, wondering the what if this happens and why am i volunteering to have this done. Do I really need to do this. Then I went over why i wanted this in the first place. I am 300 lbs and 51 years old. I cannot walk two blocks without getting into a complete sweat. I wanted my life back, Even on the way to the surgery, i was like why am i doing this? Go with your gut, not your fears. I am so glad that i did the surgery - i am 5 days out, it has not been easy, but we knew that going into it. The greatest fear, is of the unknown, but do not let that stop you from your dreams. It is definately hard work, and I so wish i could fast forward another couple of weeks, but i cant. Have faith in your decisions and you will be fine. Good luck to you all
