  1. My total bill to my insurance for my surgery was $63,000. I don't know how much my insurance actually paid everyone (hospital, surgeon? Anesthesia etc). Thankfully all I had to pay was my hospital admission copay which was $250.
  2. I was sleeved 9/19 and I have lost 21 lbs. I am content with that. I do not want to lose too quickly (excess skin). Slow and steady is good for me. Good luck to you! HW 262 Surgery 241 Current 220
  3. 10 days post op today and I had about 2 spoons of my daughters frozen yogurt :/
  4. You look absolutely amazing! Congrats!
  5. I'm not from Idaho or going to Mexico for surgery, but my VSG is on September 19th. 2 days to go!!
  6. Congratualtions!!! My surgery is on the 19th!
  7. Hi there! Mine is on Thursday. I'm very nervous!
  8. You look amazing! What are your stats?
  9. Yes there are doing both at the same time.
  10. Surgery is re-set for September 19th. I'm so excited! Here we go again!!!!
  11. It's benign!!! Calling the coordinator tomorrow to reschedule my surgery!!
  12. Thank you everyone for the support. It still feels so surreal. I can't believe it didn't happen, but I need to focus on the other aspect and hopefully be sleeved soon. Thanks again!
  13. So after two weeks of liquid diet, prepping and planning for support and care for myself and my kids, as well as prepping myself mentally for this surgery, I woke up from anesthesia with no sleeve. They found a tumor in the base of my stomach. I have to see a gastroenterologist and have a biopsy done. Once everything is ok and the tumor is removed I can proceed with the sleeve. I'm sad, disappointed. I cried so much in the hospital, the nurses were so nice to me. Good news is the surgeon said that from the look of it, it looks benign. Im calling the specialist tomorrow to see how soon they can get me in. Hoping for the best!
  14. I'm on day 6 of a two week liquid diet. I know exactly how you feel. I have not ate a single thing in six days and I can't believe it!! I think in this stage its mind over matter. I keep reminding myself how much I want this surgery. How much I need to change my life and its working. Still on track after six days. Good luck tomorrow, start from scratch. Don't make any excuses for yourself tomorrow. Our minds have a very powerful way of rationalizing things. Even if you have it in your hand you don't have to eat it and if you put it in your mouth spit it out. Lol. Lots of water and try to get the protein in somehow. Lots of luck to you!!!
  15. Absolutely amazing!!! Are you exercising as well?
  16. I feel the same as you. I'm 35 and have been up and down my whole life. Never maintaining my weightloss for more than a couple months. I have two kids 6 and 1. I also want to see them achieve great things. I do not have any comorbidities at the moment, but I know that wont last for long if I do not change my weight (currently 257, 5'1"). There is diabetes and high blood pressure in my family. We are brave to make this decision and for me it was finally realizing that I could not sustain the weightloss on my own. I need the sleeve to keep me on track long term. My surgery is 8/29. I'm nervous, but I know I need to do this if not for me for my children. Good luck to you!!
  17. I don't have a roller coaster story. I've always loved them but as my weight increased I avoided them all together. Also having those fears that I alone would break the ride. My story is that one day while volunteering at my daughter's kindergarten class I heard a little boy say to my daughter "your mom is so fat". Now, I could care less about what a five year old has to say, but it was the feeling that I have now embarrassed my daughter and put her in a position to have to defend her mom. She just replied "yes, but she's so beautiful" . My eyes filled with tears and I will never forget that day.
  18. I'm so sorry that happened I can totally understand where you are coming from. My surgery is at the end of the month and while I tell myself there is no need for "food funerals" there's this part of my brain that says "better eat it now". The best thing out of all this is that you didn't set yourself back by eating that meal. I have a feeling the guilty feeling would have been worse. Good luck on your journey.
  19. You look great! I'm having surgery at the end of the month. Hoping for the same results!!!
  20. My surgery is scheduled for 8/29. I have the same exact worries. My husband looooves my body how it is now. He says I'm perfect. He has also been very supportive of my decision to be a healthier mom and wife. I also so not think I will ever be a stick figure. I have thick legs and thighs that I've always had even when I weighed 140 lbs 13 years ago. I understand you because I also worry about him not liking what he sees.
  21. August 29th!! Just scheduled it today!
  22. Thanks everyone! He can climb on the couch but my bed is too high! I might out a step stool there and maybe he can get up there on his own. He definitely cannot climb into my car it's also an SUV. Good news I got approved by my insurance and my surgery is scheduled for August 29th!!!! I'm excited and nervous!!!
