I hate it when people post just to post.....

I plan on sitting on my ass, and watching the marathon tomorrow when the boy-child is at school.
  2. Mine was pain free too. I have been at goal over 2 years. Sorry to squash your theory!

    Is anyone NOT exercising???

And some 10 year olds have been through more than some 50 year olds. It doesn't mean that they have the maturity or wisdom of the 50 year old.
  5. I find it amusing that so many people think others get "Lucky". So far I am; "lucky" to have not had pain. "lucky" to be able to eat right. "lucky" to be able to exercise. "lucky" to have lost down to goal. "lucky" to have stayed there for over 2 years now. That's an awful lot of "luck" for one person. I wonder if it comes down to what you expect & are willing to work for. If you expect to be in bed for a month post banding, you likely will be. If you expect that you can't exercise, you likely won't be able to, if you expect that you won't like healthy foods, you likely won't, and if you expect failure, you will get exactly that. I can honestly say, without a doubt in my mind, that pushing a baby out of my vagina was far more painful than having a band wraped around my stomach when I was out. I was awake for the baby thing. That did hurt because, well, I was one of these fools who said "no thanks" to all the drugs they offered. So for my money, expelling another human being from my body was more pain. But yeah. Those who don't have pain that puts them in bed for a month are "lucky".

    Anemia

Anemia in women of childbearing age is surprisingly common. If you are getting lots of Iron rich foods, and taking Vitamins, you will need to have it looked into further, but if it does tun out to be diet related, it is super easy to fix.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

Trust me, there have been people who have all but starved the weight off with a band. Some people just do crazy shit.

You can get malnourished with a band too! Just fill to bursting point, and only eat a teaspoon of food three times a day, and there you have it! Easy as that. And, no wet stinky farts or poos. You just DON'T fart or poo anymore! Anything they can do, we can do better!
  9. I don't think anyone said that. I wonder if that is the difference. If the people who have had babies, and gone through other major surgeries found it easier to deal with than people who hadn't. I know for my money, compared to two induced hard, fast labours, and a couple of fairly invasive surgeries the band was a breeze. My tummy tuck, while I was fairly uncomfortable, I wasn't in major pain, slept in my own bed from the day I got out of hospital, took only panadol for pain, and recovered within a couple of weeks. Then last month, after a tube shortening surgery (that required to the use of a probe and the opening of my port site scar) I felt little to no pain at all. I didn't take anything at all for the pain. So it's not like it has been so long that I have forotten what the pain (or lack of) was like. I just find posts like the OP's alarmist. If one looks, there are plenty of posts with people who say they had losts of pain post op.
  10. You do see plenty of "I almost died the pain was so bad!!!!1!1!!!!" posts.

This has been done to death

LMAO, I love it! "Crazy, obsessed, and have forgotten what it's like to be fat" It should be my new sig line. Sorry you are having to deal with that Lulu. Some people just suck.
  12. I didn't take anything beyond panadol (I think in the US it's tylanol or something like that?) And I wasn't in a great deal of pain. Uncomfy? Yep. In pain? No. Perhaps some people just deal with pain better than others.

A wobbly is much the same as a dummy spit, but not quite as dramatic and cracking the sads is when one sulks.

    Vegetarian

I do pretty well. I eat lots of nuts, Beans, pulses, legumes and tofu (oh, and a stack of fruit & veggies) I never had any real issues with any foods, mostly because I never had a really tight fill. So perhaps others with a tighter fill might have found some foods harder to eat.

I get being an advocate for your tool. I understand that 100%. What I *don't* get is why they have to be so full on about getting every WLS'er to have a DS, and attacking everyone who doesn't agree with their choice. If an RNY, sleeve or LapBand work for a person, why not just leave it at that. It just sounds like they are trying to justify their surgey type. Like they have to keep proving to themselves that they made the right choice by picking the DS. Fear will do that I guess.

I don't get the hostility. I just don't get it. (the DS'ers, that is)

    PCOS help?

Don't stress. Not everyone with PCOS who is banded eats a low carb / high Protein diet. Some of us do really well just eating a balanced diet, and just swapping high GI foods for their low GI versions.
