Don't mother's hold their babies anymore?

Personally, I don't carry my baby. My arms get sore, I don't carry him "right" and we both end up grumpy.

All you people do is complain...

It's not ME who has decided the charts are the way they are, it is the medical community. I only happen to agree that a BMI of under 25 is better than having a BMI of over 25. That statistically, someone with a BMI of over 25 is going to be in greater danger of obesity related illness. And it's not my job to convince you of it either. I honestly don't care what anyone else believes about it. If people don't want to be healthy, that's cool, but I think this "You are so men because you say being fat isn't healthy" shit has to stop. It seems to me that too many overweight people jump up and down, saying thin is ugly, but if you were to DARE to say the same about obesity, you are fattist. It's a wee bit hypocritical, dont'ca think?

    Oh really?
  4. I guess the people I hang with respect me and my space enough not to question what I am eating. I don't have random strangers two tables over nudging each other, watching my every mouth full. And usually when I eat out it's a fairly social thing, and the last thing we talk about is portion sizes. I don't think that it's that unusual.

losing jusme's quest to the Minnie marathon

The Nike+ is pretty accurate when you are not on a treadmill. Doing well LJM! You excited about the MM?
  6. No one cares what anyone else is eating (unless it looks super yum, and you wished you had ordered it) but when we went to Sizzlers just the other night, I ate salad and fruit. No one cared that I didn't go back for 70 more plates, and no one asked any questions. I did sort of begrudge paying $18 for a lifeless salad and an apple, but what can you do, right? We had a horde of kids with us, and it was the best option (better than McD's anyway). Usually I avoid that place, and most like them, like the plague because the food is substandard. To answer the question of where Slimmy lives that still has a Sizzler... The same place as me. Australia.

Oh! You are doing SO well! You will be under goal and wasting away to a anorexic size 6 before you know it! Congratulations!

Because you didn't chase it with half a tanker of Mt.Dew and slime the lot up into the sink .

But "No... Sorry." wouldn't be too short  Every time I see the question "How many calories do you eat a day?" I have to fight the urge to reply with "5 million 6 hundred and thirty. Point two"

    Treadmill 30 mins?

It's a great start! Most people start by walking on a treadmill or outside. You will eventually have to kick it up a notch by walking more, running or trying something else, but for a start, it's fantastic!

Naturally you are always right! Just look at your army of loyal ass sniffers. How could you let them down by admitting you are less than perfect? Oh. Wait. That's someone else. Never mind. LMAO

Once you get to goal, you might need to ask the whole board the same question countless times, get the same answers and ignore it every time. Because, remember YOU ARE ALWAYS RIGHT! Even Doctors are wrong! And how wrong could you be if your surgeon is asking you how you did it!
  15. I wub Little Britain. Ann is a shocker. I think she/he is fab. To your question. I personally can eat ice cream. I chose not to because it's a nutritionally void food, but if I wanted to, I am sure I could eat a tub with no worries. I don't know how tight you would have to be to PB a liquid (ice cream is considered a liquid once it hits the stomach and melts), but I am assuming that's pretty dammed tight. That said every single band is different, so perhaps there are folks out there who can't tolerate ice cream. (Sorry it took so long to get back to you... Life has gone to hell in a pretty pink hand basket)

    Insurance Pay for PS???

Hi Slimmy, I am in Brisbane, and had my TT back in August 2006, so hopefully my info isn't too out of date. I got a referral from my GP to a couple of different surgeons (with the referral Medicare will pay for part of, or all of the consultation with the surgeon, depending on how much they charge) Met with a couple of different surgeons, settled on my surgeon, called my health fund, found they do cover medically necessary reconstructive tummy tucks (as a side note, not too many Australian private health funds cover reconstructive TT's. It might be worth looking into your level of cover) I paid my surgeon in full, and submitted all of my receipts to Medicare and my health fund and got quite a large refund (my total out of pocket was about $1800) Long story short, see your GP and get a referral.

    I have to laugh. She is so self involved that she thinks that *I* think she is fat. Uh. Yeah. Truth is I don't care. I just don't think about anyone else's weight but mine. Even DH's weight doesn't concern me. Whenever she goes on about thin people being ugly, and unattractive I think of this;

It makes perfect sense if she is displaying Anorexic behavior. And a lot of people here are stuck so far up her ass they can't see daylight. Seeing sense here is uncommon. I do have to question why we are supposed to NOT talk about trying to get to / getting to a healthy BMI because some people don't want to / can't get to a healthy BMI? Why are we supposed to be sensitive to people who call a healthy BMI ugly and unattractive?
  25. Chickie

    Just. Not. Fair.

There is little point in arguing with someone who is always "right". My father in law is much the same, I suspect it has something to do with advanced age. I will say this though. This girl's weight WAS the issue. It is in the media, and it is here. The who point was that she is a plus sized beauty queen. So saying her weight has nothing to do with this thread is wrong I am afraid. And because a healthy weight is something you personally don't aspire to / can't get to / don't want to be does not change the fact that a healthy weight is just that - A healthy weight. Calling me childish, and saying I have attacked you in this thread is not going to change that. Call a healthy weight "unattractive' if you wish, like you have in other threads, but I am reminded of Aesop's fable about the fox and the grapes. You might want to google it. Just as a side note, I am not God of anything, sadly. For if I was, I would wave my hand and be able to run a 15 minute 5k, would make poverty history, fix that pesky global warming problem, and lot's of other things before I was to worry about the BMI of the masses, but I am pretty sure I would be good at multi tasking, so I don't know... Maybe I could fix it all. But God being God, he can't die.. Unless you worship something / one who is mortal, then they might die, but unless that is the case... No. I am still not God. Sorry. I can't fix you.
