  1. I have been at goal for two years now, and people have only just stopped commenting on my weight. The way I am now is the "new" normal. It just takes time.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Yeah. Avoid the chatroom like the mean kid in the playground.
  3. Chickie

    Which type are you?

That's pretty much the size of it. Further to that, most people don't want anyone who doesn't have a weigh problem anymore posting with them.

SO NOW I am anorexic?? I hate people...

Good on you! I wouldn't have lets that Mother Ucker get away with it. But it *does* get better. I promise. People forget that you were ever overweight. It just takes time.

Some people are just assholes. Eventually people forget what you looked like before, and stop commenting. 2 years later, people have stopped with the "You are too skkkiiinnnneeeyyyy" bullshit, and are just letting me be. It takes time for people to adjust. But asshats will always be asshats. And the "Crack Whore" comment would have prompted me to ask if he was always a dickless wonder, or if this was a new thing.

I admit that I was (and still can be at times) LAZY. I admit that I was a glutton. It's what made me as large as I was. It was only when I faced my behaviour for what it was, and change it, that I was able to lose weight and keep it off. When people can own their behaviours, and change them for the better, great things can happen. Till then, they get stuck in the same rut, going around in the same circles.

    At Goal-Then What? Question

I always said "I will tell you when I get there" (usually the mechanics of the band have been explained by this point in the conversation, and thy understand that the band is in place till such times as it needs to be removed) And when I was there, I said "Maintaining isn't all that different to losing, so I guess I will just keep doing what I'm doing". Yeah. Not always. Just saying.

    Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey

Ok. I am drive-by-posting, so I am only commenting on this for the second.... From someone who has been there and done it (I was interviewed for a major weekly Australian magazine in August 2007). Remember it is out there FOREVER. One you say "Yes" there is NO changing your mind. It's there forever. I still have people come up to me in the street and say "You are that chick who was really fat, right?" (I say "whatever do you mean?" and walk away now... It really upset me for a while) And I got harassing phone calls for months after the magazine came out from wackos. I am yet to read the replies (I am sure the majority are saying to do it) but be sure you are ready to have yourself out there for public consumption forever. Be sure you are ready to know that perfect strangers have seen your body. Be sure that you are ready to know that strangers know your intimate thoughts. Be sure you are ready for the judgment you will get. Be sure you want to do this before saying yes. I am not saying don't do it. But be very sure you DO want to do it before doing it.

Ever feel its not worth it?

Sitting here looking back... It has all been worth it. And the things that felt like earth shattering drama's at the time, really were not a big deal.

Well, it's the really sucky days that make the not quite so sucky days feel fantastic. It's all for a good cause. I am great! I have a day off today, the sun is shining, the car wants washing and I have day day off! Its FAB! And how are you? How are you feeling? And where are the photos (I would search, but I suck at searching)

    Two words. Duct. Tape.
  17. Yeah, from the pharmacy, and in the supermarkets. You know the type, you drop the little tablet into Water and it dissolves? Goes straight through the band. Good stuff. I have to confess, when I do need neurofen I take the kids stuff. At my weight and height, I take as much as my 11 year old son.
  18. I went from an (Aussie size) 28 HHH to a 6DD. When I got to goal weight 2 years ago, I was a 6F, but my body composition has obviously changed a fair bit because I am now down to the DD without losing any more weight.
  19. Just after the op, I had either the liquid panadol, or in a pinch, crushed panadol.

LOL, yeah, I know.. I was being silly (Actually, if one goes back about 50 thousand pages, there are about 90 page of my dribbling). Perhaps my lack of :hurray::frown::smile::redface:'s made it appear I didn't know what this thread was really about

So. Are we still posting just to post? Or has this thread gone and got a theme?
  22. That's unreal! I am at a loss for words. You are an amazing inspiration to us all LJM.

All you people do is complain...

Lets take weight right out of it. Sunscreen. Ok. People who don't wear sunscreen and spend time in the sun tend to get skin cancer, right? But people who DO wear sunscreen don't get it nearly as often as people don't. Isn't it better to wear the sunscreen, than to say "I don't have to wear sunscreen because even people who do wear it can get skin cancer"? And as to "G" (LMAO) She called ME unattractive. She said I have "that look" The one she finds so ugly that she is eating junk and puking it up into the skink to stop herself looking like. I think you will find if you pull your head out of Graces ass for a few minutes and look around most people feel the same way about Graces bullshit as I do. And I do dammed well respect people. More than a few. But acting like you are morally superior to me because you didn't get as heavy as me, and calling me ugly is not the way to get it honey. I don't respect YOU. And that is your problem with me. And I don't find myself needing to approve of anyones weight. I think I have said that more than enough. What this comes down to is some people don't want to, or are afraid to get to a normal weight. Rather than owning those feelings they attack people who they feel show them up. It is their problem. Not mine.

All you people do is complain...

You are an idiot. I don't always throw that in. I respect people who literally work their asses off, no matter where they end up BMI wise. There are more than a few I can think of off the top of my head. Grace is an idiot, because has an eating disorder, and is boasting about it. I did say she needs to examine why she thinks people with a normal BMI are unattractive, not that she needs to examine why she doesn't want to be a normal BMI. So did a couple of other people. Yet I am the one you have a hard on for. And no, I didn't add that bit, because I don't really give two shits what someone like you thinks of what I have done. What you think of me and about me really doesn't enter into the argument. I don't come here for pats on the head from you my dear. The FACT remains the the medical community says that statistically a BMI of over 25 is overweight. And being over weight carries risk of serious obesity related illness. If you, and others like yourself cannot face facts, it is not up to me to hold your hand, and tell you that it's fine to be fat because thin people get obesity related illness too. Because I wont. It's not my job to educate people on their own health. And if you want to be fat, after having surgery to lose weight, that is well within your rights, but I elected to NOT be fat after having surgery to lose weight. Personal choice. We all have it, most of us use it.
