  1. <is mulling over whether she can be arsed to go through every reply and respond to each 'charge' individually..> <and she realises she can't be arsed, because it would be futile to>
  2. I got fat - because I ate too much. Why did I eat too much? Loneliness, unreasonable expectations, unrealised parental aspiration and their regret. Unyielding, all encompassing judgement. Condition-based love and affection, paranoia and knowing no matter what I achieved - I was never going to be good enough. Reason enough, I think.
  3. Satay chicken flavour
  4. I take a BIG mouthful of lactalose. I promise you... Give it 1.5 hours and you will be pooping through the eye of a needle. It won"t be 'comfortable', per se - as everything moves REALLY quickly. However, you will feel like a new human being afterwards. Happy pooping
  5. If someone waved one of those piercing contraptions near my boobs? The nipples would probably invert even more than they do now, no doubt ending up sticking out of my bleedin' shoulder blades <shudders at the thought>
  6. Incredible. Simply incredible. Very well done, you x
  7. lol I'm not evil! Maybe a bit of a pain in the bum, but not evil x
  8. lol That's how I look with a hangover
  9. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.. But when my cravings hit? I eat two squares of high cocoa content chocolate. Like 70% plain. And good quality, too - Lindt, for example. I was told to do this by my quack, who said that the high level of cocoa sates cravings far better than the milky, full of palm oil/butter type stuff. I have to say - it works and stops me from trying to chow down on doughnuts, cake, burgers, anything I can get my grubby little paws on and the like
  10. It looks truly lovely and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time, with your new svelte, running up and down the stairs, self
  11. Nicely done! You look very happy
  12. That's a cracking result. Well done, you! As an aside though - would you mind telling us where you were when that beach photo was taken?! I want to go there! Immediately!
  13. Muahahahahaha... My work here is done. <wanders off back to her cave. Chuckling>
  14. Okay, all I'm going to say, is that if people don't start to use the 'search Forums' function...I may have to have a Michael Douglas Whammy Burger moment. It's not that hard. ALL of the information you require will be there (with the exception of a few, personally focussed nuances and topics). If your topic is not original, do us all a favour; thoroughly exhaust the search function and if there is something not covered (which I doubt it won't be), THEN ask! Ideally making reference to what you have read so far and how and why, the information presented did not cover your specific area of interest/concern. If you don't know how to search - please ask us. We will be MORE than happy to help. Its just and outside of this, the general laziness permeating the threads is starting to get on my mammary glands. For those of the 'bleeding heart' brigade who will no doubt mew in my general direction: 'But some people are new. Some people need special attention. Don't be mean. You need to be more compassionate. You were new once. This serves no purpose but to scare people away from posting' (etc.etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum) Bite me. I have never been 'lazy' in the pursuit of information which will allay my fears and build upon my knowledge for a proposed action which really should not be taken lightly, so why are other people? If someone is incapable of using the search function through internet inexperience - this is one thing. (See above). But I find for those who have already managed to insert Giff's and tickers to their signatures, this is not applicable - so why haven't they searched first? If you evidence that you've searched (not just stating 'I've searched', moving on to ask the same bleedin' question, thus indicating you haven't actually been bothered to search!) and there's a genuine need for additional and unique information - there's not a person in the world who won't help you. However and I'm just going to put it out there. If you're this lazy in response to finding out the critical information YOU need for YOUR surgery and post operative care; how does this bode for your attitude post surgery? If you can't be bothered now, will you be bothered later? Or is this just emblematic of the attitude 'Its not me, it's them.' Absolving yourself of all responsibility? So and to summarize; take the initiative people. Use your brains. Read, analyse, compare, contrast, critique - THEN ask questions. You will gain far more from it and the website will also benefit. I concede that the search function on this site is a bit laborious. However, by showing some effort, the people who genuinely want to help you will be invigorated to do so - valuing the efforts you've already made to push the debate on and contribute to the ever-growing invaluable pot of knowledge on Bariatric Pal. Failure to do so will just fill the the site with repetitive, unanswered questions, because those who are capable of helping have become exhausted and their pot of compassion depleted, by those whom seem to think that THEIR questions are more important/relevant/unique than anyone else's? The Quest for knowledge should be a daily mission. It is how we learn and grow. Asking people to spoon feed you pap, like baby food, will do nothing for you long term and will do nothing for this community, either. Maybe have a think about that, before you post another 'done to death' topic; expecting the world to rally to your call. 'Cause after a while, people just won't respond and all thats been affected, is to leave the site a wasteland full of whistling wind and tumbleweed. Rant over. <Wanders off grumbling, back to her cave of mean>
  15. That's very cool indeed. You go, girl!
  16. I think that's a great idea. It won't be long before you're in them.
  17. May I ask, is drinking whilst you're eating the bad habit you need to break - or is it something else?
  18. Yep, I'm in the 'call her out on it' brigade. You should tell her how it made you feel. If you do it well enough, it should leave her with enough food for thought for the next few days. Lets see how she likes it, the offhanded cowbag. Stay strong, treacle. You're doing great
  19. Wasn't it one of your great countrymen that stated..'The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.' (F D. Roosevelt) I'm going to add - 'Every day is a school day'. When we learn, we grow. Living with a 'status quo' is not living. It is not growing, either. (Except, width ways) If you calculate the percentage risks of surgical complications (under 2% on average), with the complications of all the health issues we were all presenting with? Then calculate the likelihood of ending up having to have some god-awful treatment down the road, which will then potentially snowball into other treatments, to overcome the side effects of the first treatment. Then secondary issues because of all those, which then become primary issues, because your body can no longer withstand the abuse its been subjected to? I thought about this. It boiled down to this one, hard, inescapable fact: 'When I'm 70 (I was shooting high here, given my health issues), laying on my deathbed, with tubes coming out of every orifice, will I be thinking 'I am so glad I didn't change the state I was in. I had a good life, if limited and full of crushing feelings of inadequacy, but it was 'okay'.' Or will I be thinking (at 85 years old) 'Hell-to-the-f**** yeah, I spun that barrel and gave it all I had'. Its a personal choice, I totally get it. However and for me, this was a no-brainer. I was shooting for the stars. I still am.
  20. That's crazy! You've lost a 'me'. A whole 'me'! Well, me and the fruit tea loaf which I cooked this evening. It is an astounding accomplishment RJ. You should rightly, be very very proud of yourself. Just awesome
  21. If your throat is burning.. it sounds like excess acid. Did you get given a PPI? I would try and get some omeprazole in and see how you feel. I had a problem with that (still do), but if I take my tablets, I'm all good in the hood. As for the difficulty in getting things down.. It does get better with time. However and as Recycled stated - we can't sort it for you on here. You need to see your surgeon. Wishing you the best of luck.
  22. Eat LOTS of Iron, Protein, take your Vitamins and get your B12 and Vitamin D in. Oh, and did I mention Iron? Like LOTS of it. What you're recommended to take? Double it. It won't prevent it, but it should ease it. Did for me, anyway. Just as an aside.. Please use the 'search' function in the top right hand corner of this page. This topic has been WELL thrashed out and any answers or discussions you could possibly ever want to read or contribute to, are in there....
  23. That's incredible. All power to you.
  24. You are not going to get the help you need on a website. Sadly, you need to go to your surgeon - camp on his doorstep if you have to - and get some service. There could be a myriad of reasons as to why this could be happening - from a stricture, to your sleeve becoming volvulus, to excess acid, to infection, leak. We can all talk endlessly about this and provide you with sympathy (which you certainly deserve), but none of us can directly help you. You need to go to your surgeon and get it sorted. Sorry you're feeling so bad and wish you a very speedy recovery
