  1. Will do, chickadee! The meeting would have to be on the 23rd - if its going to happen at all. Don't know how people will respond to it, being that its so close to Christmas. I'll give L a buzz and ask. Now, time to amplify the warm and fuzzy with a glass of wine x
  2. This has made my heart all warm and fuzzy. I don't do warm and fuzzy. Indigo - I'm elated for you. Truly... Now, lady, are you going to be at the Murrayfield meeting at the end of this month? I think we should have wine! xx
  3. Oh honey. I'm so sorry to read this. Hope you're in fine fettle as soon as possible x
  4. Holy cow, you look 20 years younger! A-maz-ing!
  5. It depends. What research have you done so far?
  6. Oh, honey. You've just gone through another major operation! That's big stuff! You don't want to be beating yourself up so soon! Your body is probably saying 'what in the world?!' 'I'm hanging onto my calories, thank you very much!' Sounds like the common three week stall. Just keep doing what you know to be right and all will be well. One thing I will say - is food 'passing through' okay? As long as it is and you 'feel okay'.. Hang on in there. If, by another 4 weeks, things haven't 'levelled out', go back to your quack and have a chat. Hang in there, honey. It's too soon to be down and you'll be rocking your sleeve in no time. It's probably just your body's way of saying 'I'm grumpy, I've been fannied about with again.. Leave me alone!'
  7. Hmm.. do you have any thyroid issues?
  8. That's so crazy !! I sure hope I like everything that I have in my frig once I get home It's a whole lot of trial and error on that front. My finace is now the official human dustbin. For the first 8 weeks, I'd be like 'Erm, nope, this isn't working for me'... and i'd immediately hand it over for him to finish off! He put on weight as a consequence. Muahahahaha! If you don't like things - don't worry about it. You'll find something else and move on. My advice? Go reasonably bland for a while. You'll tolerate it far better and won't waste so much food.
  9. A-ma-zing!!! Massive congratulations to you - you're an inspiration.
  10. Oh yes.. Some of my most favourite things began to taste awful... and if they didn't taste 'awful', they certainly tasted weird. I found there was also a correlation between fat content versus taste, versus sleeve compatibility.. Fatty goodness... not so good any more...
  11. Beautifully put - and you look a-maz-ing! Many many congratulations
  12. That's just under a stone a month... That's exactly what you should be losing - according to my nutritionist. That's 5 stone in total... I'd be having a freekin' party if I got to that - and we have very similar stats.
  13. It's over! Yay! Take it easy, rest well and focus on looking after yourself. Well done, you!
  14. Next time she approaches you to ask another weight-related question and every time after that? I would let out an over-exaggerated.... <YAWN>...... Not productive or particularly mature; but then, I'm childish like that
  15. I have been sleeved for 12 weeks, I have had two periods lasting over 17 days each... so, 34-38 days out of 74. It blows. I, too, have PCOS. I should have shares in Tampax by now.. Loyalty scheme... Like a coffee reward card... 'Have two horrendously long periods - Get 4 boxes of protection FREE!' Urrrghhh.... Anyone else have that annoying Bodyform advert music going through their head right now?!!!
  16. You, my dear, need to go and speak to a lawyer.. and a good one... Sorry for your horrendous trouble. My EMT fiance and I send you are absolute best x
  17. Lol!! I love your humor Madam!!! Thank you, Darlink x
  18. Aww, honey. It's difficult to say without a bit more detail... It would all be conjecture... I'm really sorry this happened to you though. That's an awful thing for someone to do without any explanation. Could you just ask him straight? If he's going cold on you, you might have nothing to lose by just calling him out on it? You never know.. he might have something going on in his life that's not related, but has impacted on his ability to 'connect'.. Or, of course, he could be a total cold, heartless so-and-so... If it was me, I'd call him out on it... I wish I could help you further. Sorry honey x
  19. lol yeah, if someone did that to me, I'd be feeling pretty patronised, too. People don't mean to come across like that - to be fair - and most of the time. It comes from a 'good place'.. (bit like the 'happy place' ) Try not to let it get to you. I always find bashing my head repeatedly on my keyboard often helps with the temporary 'OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!' moments.
  20. That's size-ist! Or is it weight-ist?! I dunno.. I'll just shut up now
  21. I have PCOS and I can see a change in my hormones. Apart from breaking out in a load of spots recently - I've had two 'cycles' that have lasted over 17 days each... (not pleasant - particularly as I'm on a pill which is alleged to stop me having them ) But... I can't imagine that my nutritionist would have told me to be 'exceptionally careful' with regards to my birth control, if there weren't changes afoot and I needed to be 'exceptionally careful' not to get preggers. I don't know where your insurance person got their info from - but if you need some additional information, I can see if I can dig up some sleeve-specific gumpf for you.. Unless she's got confused with PCOS and Diabetes - of which RNY would be the preferred procedure - as it has such a rapid impact on that.... May I enquire how high your BMI is? That, too, might have an impact on their suggestions?
  22. If not, you can always come and sit in the naughty-porky corner with me
  23. Why of course not! Why would we, when we can leave our indelible mark of crazy on this website forever...... Or until the fun police stop us............ RJ... I couldn't get beyond the first line!
  24. Oh, it's ALL about the nuns.... Scary! Hopefully with all your new-found and sustained healthiness, your metabolism will sort itself out and you'll be groovy-do? It might be okay
