Rosie O'Donnell new pics posted today

I have little knowledge as to who this woman is. Being British an' all. I do remember my american partner once referring to her as a word that shall not be repeated on here.... Consequently, I shall take that, on behalf of LL and myself, as an insult!!!

So it hits me...... No Beer!

<Lifts her head in a meerkat fashion at the mention of Guinness> 'Black Gold'. Drink of the gods. I drink 4 or 5 of those every 1-2 weeks. It's the law, don'tcha know....

    Ok, the hair thing again

This might help you 'picture it'.. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/300353-hair-loss-a-harsh-reality-picture-of-loss/?hl=%20hair%20%20loss%20%20picture
  5. I was told by my doc that Iron intake is the key to limiting hair loss. Consequently, I was told to eat a lot of red meat and take loads of iron. I must admit, the moment I started doing this (loads of red meat, two spatone sachet's, two multi Vitamins a day), my hair loss has slowed considerably. Shame I didn't know this before my temples became really sparse... However, I am glad that its slowed significantly. Sorry your loss has been so dynamic and wishing you a speedy recovery.
  6. I would have spun on my heel, snatched my arm back and said 'Watch your mouth'... That is in NO WAY funny or acceptable.

    Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

Okay; CAVEAT: I understand that everyone is at different stages of their 'journey' (that phrase actually makes me want to vomit, btw) and I understand that there are occasions when some things have to be repeated for the benefit of those who are incapable of doing word-searches, reading, have a facet of a pre-thrashed-out-topic that they want further clarification on, or are more sensitive/IT limited/have less than satisfactory medical and insurance support and perhaps want specific attention and focus to their (not wholly different to anyone else's issues, which I can understand - as I have needed this, too).. but... Where in the holy-hell is the originality? I swear, if someone doesn't post a discussion topic that goes beyond the almost pro-forma, I am going to have a melt-down. This surgery goes well beyond the physicality of inches and pounds lost. It goes further than 'Did you eat 4 edamame Beans today?'. It just goes, well, further. The contributors to this site should, too. I think its break-time for me, because I am becoming more bored than a bored thing on a bored day in a bored month. BORED! <rant over>

    Hurting right now.

So you both gained weight.. Where is his weight right now? To be fair and how you recounted it; sounds like he was fascinated in a sort of science experiment kind of way.. However and to take it to base level - women should not be the only ones concerned about their appearance. Men have a responsibility, too. Why we beat ourselves up over it endlessly, I have no idea. You gave birth to Children. That's going to wreck your body - even before or after the weight. What children did he squish out of his body?! None! That means we as a sex work doubly hard to make and sustain a family and have these unrealistic self-imposed expectations put on us about how we look, how we keep the house, how we 'appease' out partners. So, your body is not looking like Cindy Crawford's right now. On the flip side (and I know irrespective of what he looks like, you wouldn't comment or see him as less attractive) - but I'm sure he isn't exactly looking like Mark Wahlburg sp/ph, right now, is he?! That should give you perspective. I know he loves you and means well - however 'foot in mouth' it was. But really, you can't beat yourself up over this. You're in the middle of a process. When the process is completed you can take stock then. In the meantime - tell him that you were hurt by him responding to you as if you were some weird freak of nature. After all, if he's in management, surely he has greater comprehension of what happens to skin after it has been stretched and deflated over a period of time?! And for yourself... Take pride in the kids you have brought into the world and the control you have now got over your diet and weight. Give it a little while and you'll feel much, much better.

Anyone feeling dizzy and faint like

Nearly 7 months out and I still get dizzy. No matter how I've tried, I still can't isolate it to one thing.... Or maybe it's the combination of things, specific to each body. I don't know. I'm still working on this...
  10. Madam Reverie

    Hair loss?

Started at 3.5 months. Accelerated greatly at the 4-5 month mark. 6 months, it is stabilizing, but still losing. Month 7 again, still losing, but less than at 4-5 months. Biotin promotes growth, but I am convinced the reduction in hair loss, has been down to my Iron intake. I upped it considerably and as soon as I did that, it abated somewhat. Get your iron in and in LARGE amounts... FOR SURE!

Very glad to hear you're on the mend and feeling much better May I ask if you've had your gallbladder out? Pancreatitis is normally a secondary issue presented after original gallbladder issues are identified? If you haven't had your gallbladder out, you may need to talk to your surgeon to ask about the possibility of having it removed.

    Sunshine and 5 Months Fabulous

Aww, that's too cute. Love this! Many more sunny dancing days for the pair of you x

    Goofy question.

My friend googled "Jennifer Anniston Brazillian Blow Dry Failure' today on her i-phone. We were talking about how it had allegedly damaged her hair, resulting in her having to have her hair cut short. My friend hadn't read about it so wanted to know. Being a sensitive and innocent girl, after she'd hit on a fairly innocuous looking website and then saw what 'popped up', she promptly dropped her iphone in her plate full of Ranchero chicken. Oh, how I laughed and laughed and laughed... I also might have made a terrible joke about her being greedy and wanting multiple c0@cks on her plate The poor girl!

Did they give you an acid reducer like Omeprazole. I think you lot call it Prilosec? If you're producing too much acid, this can make you feel nauseated. You say you can eat some things? What things are you eating? If you're eating things which are too advanced for you at this stage, then being sick is going to happen. If you're not and if I were you, I wouldn't take no for an answer. Rock up to your medical team and demand to be seen.

    Sleeved 3-26, complications

You need to contact your medical team. There are a million things people can suggest - like don't drink too quickly, don't eat too much, take your time, chew well, eat clean, low fat, low sugar - are you doing all those things? Can you get anything in other than Water? Either way, at 2.5 weeks, you should be at least able to get milk in... or even thin broth with no lumps. Go speak to your medical team. Seriously.

    inch loss

You'll lose weight.. then you'll appear to plateau and during that time, the inches fall off. Repeat indefinitely! Its just the way it works. Nothing to freak about - it's all good!
  17. Madam Reverie

    Ugh

Danielle, as per JeanZ advice and as I just posted on your other thread. You're showing classic symptoms of excess acid. Omeprazole should sort you out lovely
  18. Madam Reverie

    acid reflux?

If you have a constant lump in your throat, it does sound like reflux. Try and get yourself some omeprazole and see how you go.

    I'm in the medical field.

I don't want to play devils advocate here and by commenting, I have no viewpoint on the subject either way (that's the caveat - did you see that?! ); However, the relevance to WLS in this R&R, is, as far as I can tell, people who potentially misrepresent themselves as being more medically qualified than they actually are. This might give the information provided an over-inflated sense of validity, which could, in fact, be potentially dangerous. However and has previously been stated, no one should really be accepting medical advice, particularly of a diagnostic variety on a website. Taking away all the 'my grades higher than yours' malarky - it is a valid point if people have been misrepresenting their qualifications and have been providing people with dodgy, inaccurate or misleading information. I haven't seen this myself, but it isn't to say that it hasn't happened. It appears to get on the OP's nerves. Which is why it's in the R&R section. And its valid to appear here - if in fact, that is the root cause of the grievance. Now, who's for a giant love-in?!
  20. Madam Reverie

    I'm in the medical field.

Does that mean you're in the heavenly field? Yessum! A field full of grilled cheese sandwiches
  21. Oh, I'm not glamourising or making light of those that got to that size through awful circumstance. Just happy for those who have naturally and in a healthy way found themselves in the petite end of the scale. Its borne out of envy on my part. 'Cause I could lose all the weight in the world and I'll still be shopping in the 'tall' section - which aren't that prevalent in the average shops in the UK.
  22. Madam Reverie

    I'm in the medical field.

I am GOD. Tell me I'm not?!! Not a disciple, a missionary, I am the big cheese themselves. Muahahahahahaha. I am also, slightly unhinged
  23. A size 4? I can't even imagine what that looks like. I think my right leg is a size 4. Does that mean all you dinky wee cute things could fit into my pocket?
  24. @LilMissDiva Do you mind me asking why they're converting you to a bypass so long down the sleeve road?
  25. I was told last night that I looked 'normal'. This was in response to my asking, because I was curious about third party perception, as to whether I stood out as an overweight 'big girl' any more. I am, admittedly, always going to be 'big girl', being 5ft 10 and with shoulders like a hod carrier. It was the highest compliment since my surgery anyone could have EVER bestowed on me. If I hadn't been in a crowded location, I would have got up and done the Carlton Banks dance right there and then. Naked.
