  1. Great question and thanks for the forum link!
  2. Very awesome! I'm right ahead of you. I'll let you know how it goes! Congrats!
  3. You can do this! Pay attention to your body and read about symptoms of a leak. You are your own advocate. You've got this. A man in my surgery group lost 400 pounds from this surgery. If you did that, you'd be bones! You've got this. The complications are scary, but the risks of obesity are worse for sure.
  4. I had an upper GI test yesterday. Anyone else have one of those? Wow. They had me drink a crazy potion of pop-rocks that cause gas and then made me roll around in an xray machine. It wasn't painful-- just uncomfortable. I wrote more about it on my blog: http://greeknugget.blogspot.com/ It was a brand new experience and I hope not to have it again. Happy sleeving!
  5. I have heard this too and can understand why the average would be that low. All of us on forums are working hard to be an active part of our weight loss experience. There are plenty however, that probably choose to reverse back to old habits. Also, there isn't much data yet. People like us are helping to shape the new view of this surgery everyday!
  6. So the tests aren't painful or intimidating at all? Oh the scales
  7. http://greeknugget.blogspot.com/ Pre-op testing on Monday. What can I expect? Other than more of the stuff I listed in the link above?
  8. A bunch of us made a facebook group for September sleevers-- our own little place in the world to share our journey. To join, search for September Sleevers 2013 or email me your email address and I can add you in that way. Or, try this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/571496612897118/ Happy sleeving and losing, friends!
  9. Thanks to the two wonderful sleevers that PMed me their info, we are now up and running on facebook! September Sleevers 2013 Request to join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/571496612897118/
  10. Ok, All. I'm ready to make the September Sleevers 2013 group, but.. I have to say who I want to add to start it. And none of us our friends on there yet. So.... I'm private because I'm an educator, so you can't search me. But if one of you wants to PM me your name, I can add you in and we can start this. Oh goodness. I sound like a shady salesmen. or we can all just use Sassy Sleevers, which is lovely but HUGE.
  11. I really think we need a september 2013 sleevers FB group. I think I'll create one. Stay tuned!
  12. I just threw away 4 years of weight loss journals. Pictures here: http://greeknugget.blogspot.com/ It's a freeing experience but it's also sad and scary. How do I prove I really fought to get to this place? It feels like throwing away really hard work. Anyone else have these kind of weight watcher logs and personal tracking diaries? Are you keeping them?
  13. I'm glad to hear about the tummy noises. I had the same thing when I was on a liquid diet for 3 months! Our stomachs can be really loud!
  14. Hi All, to aid myself and others on this journey, I created a blog of my experience: http://greeknugget.blogspot.com/ I don't get a single dollar for it, so I hope it's ok to share here. Humor helps us get through! Today I posted about Pants-less selfies. Here's to support and weight loss!
  15. I meet with my surgeon the 12th ant 22nd. Hoping I get my pre-op diet on the 12th. We'll see!
  16. I, too, would like to know your meal plan or any tips for success. Great work! You look amazing.
  17. Wow! So many September 9thers! Me too Will be thinking of you and LuckyPants and KTodd. We got this!
  18. We're surgery buddies! I'm September 9th too. I like that it's a Monday. I'm trying to walk as much as possible and am trying to adopt 3 ounce meals. Though, I need more than 6 since my stomach is still normal size! HA.
  19. WOW! You lost 7 pounds a week the first 7 weeks? That's incredible! Way to go!
  20. Wow, Gmanbat way to go on the loss! And Dallasgal, I hope we have close dates! We're in this together!
  21. With a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Yup, I finally have my date: September 9th! I'm so excited. Thanks to all of you for your support during the waiting game!
  22. I'm going off caffeine and it is really hard. I still am not sure what the "real" reason (if there is just one!) for eliminating it? I have one cup of coffee in the mornings and eliminating that has been hard! Good luck to you!
  23. I know this feeling all too well! I'm normally pretty patient, but this is nerve wracking! My approval is done so I'm just waiting for the office to call me with a date. Talk about hard! I wish they'd just tell me when they think they'll call so every morning I don't wake up expecting my phone to ring. Good luck to you! It's almost here!
