  1. Your doctor has a point. I was sleeved but have managed in two years since then to lose and to gain back the 70 pounds I lost. I was never a grazer till I had this done, I had a problem with Portion Control prior to VSG. I have become a grazer due to after I had the VSG I got sever acid reflux that feels like hunger pains and the only way it goes away is to eat so now my mind thinks I'm hungry all the time and its a struggle to try to break this habit. I will eat and 10 min later feel like I have not eaten all day. I have tried every acid medication from prevacid to tums and nothing helps. I went into this thinking this would be my cure all and at least my stomach will be small and I don't have to worry. I feel like Karma has smacked me down now. Please do not go into this thinking this will be your cure as I didn't think I would have this happen as I lost 70 pounds from Nov till March but then when the acid reflux started I stopped losing

  2. I'm a little over two years out and since I was 3 or 4 months out I had sever hunger pains. Like within 15 min of eating my stomach would growl and roll like I had not eaten all day. When I asked my doctor he laughed at me and said ya your little stomach is having hunger pains and told me to go see a therapist because the pain is in my head. I asked if it was reflux but he told me no that it is in my head. Up until then I had done great from a starting weight of 260 down to 235 on the day of surg. to 189 in less than three months. Once the stomach issues started I stopped losing and I know I was grazing because I felt hungry and if I ate it would stop rumbling. I have not seen my doc because when I had scheduled my last appointment his office cancelled me 5 times and never rescheduled the last appointment. So now I don't even want to go back there between what was said to me before and them cancelling so many times.

But within the last 6 months I have really started to gain a lot of weight were I had been holding at about a 15 pound gain . But my problem now is I have had three episodes recently where I would get a sever pain in my mid stomach region. I started taking omeprazole to help with the acid but it does not seem to work. I tried prevacid also but no help. Yesterday I had another attach and I could barely sit my mid stomach area hurt and then I had this burning feeling all the way across right below my rib cage. I had my gallbladder out over 10 years ago but i have also had a similar dull ache on the right side right at the bottom of my rib cage for a few months. Just not sure if this is a complication of the VSG, Has anyone had anything similar. I'm thinking I need to find a new doctor but not sure if that is possible as I don't want to see my original doctor after he blew me off and would not even listen to me and see if there was something going on. I don't get acid up in my throat like normal acid reflux does so not even sure what that part could be.

  3. my plan says Protein first always first because our stomachs are so small and the protein is the most important then veggies and then carbs. My nut said you want to make sure you get your protein or you can loss your muscle ton or as some people on her have said you can have Hair loss. I don't have a problem with ground beef, chicken or pork but I did try a hot dog the other day and it was horrible learned my lesson on that one.

  4. It seems early to be able to eat anything, at two weeks i was still on pureed food. My plan says don't exceed a half of a cup of food per meal. Are you making sure that you eat Protein first, it will make a difference. Most days if I eat my Protein first then veggies I have no room for any starch or anything else. Also it is important not to drink a half and hour before or after you eat. You may want to also check the calories and carbs on the Protein shake you are drinking because not all are made equal. I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and this has 22 protein and scope is 100 cal and there is zero fat and 3 grams of carbs. This is the Protein powder my doctor's office allowed on the pre diet.

But keep chugging along and it will come off. I did stall at 3 weeks out but i keep going and it started to move again and now at 6 weeks out I will still have a few days I don't loose anything and then it will move again. As alot of people on her say that this is not a race its a marathon.

Another good idea is to weigh and measure everything it helps alot because some foods are more dense than others.

  5. I had cigna and they approved my in hospital stay. I was denied the first time because my doc office forgot to include my diet information from my primary doctor. i had done the three month required diet with my primary doctor earlier in the year. Once that was resubmitted they did approve me and I was sleeved on 12/13/2013.

  6. I thought I had alot of smaller sizes but they all fit right now. I was so excited last week to try on a size 16 and it be a little loose. Some of my cloths that were tight or too small I went right past and now they look to big. I had one shirt on last night and I told my husband that in another month or too I will be able to were it as a dress it was so long. This is just a happy bonus to losing weight.

  7. My doctor told me only walking till he sees me again for my one month check up and then he will release me to workout. He said that even though I may feel like doing more my inside is still healing and its not like the outside when you can feel it. I figure better safe than sorry. I also took three weeks off to let myself heal and to get use to eating because its trial and error it seems. I work from home so I don't have to worry so much about eating the wrong things. I'm glad I took the extra two weeks off to get use to this, I had originally only wanted one week also, but my doctor insisted on two weeks and then a third due to I also had a hernia repaired that I didn't know I had.

  8. After having my gallbadder out over 10 years ago I went threw years of having bathroom issues. I could not eat fastfood without having to go to the bathroom within 15 min later. I found that if I ate anything high in fat it triggered it. I saw a doctor and he told me that the gall bladder holds the bile that is released to break down fatty foods so since I did not have a gallbadder anymore it was being released into my small intestine and it was causing me to have bloating and pain and runny BM. It has gotten better and now since being sleeved and still in the pureed stage I have not really eaten any fatty foods to know if it will still happen. To tell you the truth I'm having the other problem of only going every three or four days.

  9. The hospital called me on Thursday and told me the charge would be $1288.00 but I expect more to come. I had $3700.00 out of pocket and had only satisfied $700.00 of it so I knew I would not pay more than $3000.00. I got my letter from Cigna on Saturday when I was released from the hospital and got home it was in my mail box. Good luck they are picky but mine was due to the doctor's office not submitting my diet info from my primary. At least with it taking them so long to approve it I never had time to worry myself about the surgery and if I was doing the right thing.

  10. I have had several surgery and my best advise is walk. I was sleeved on Friday and because I was in pain coming out of it the nurse dosed me up on the pain meds which made me sick to my stomach and extremely tired. They would not let me walk or even get out of bed without someone in the room to help me because I was a fall risk. I had my gallbladder out about 13 years ago and it helped so much to walk and walk and walk. I never started walking till 4.30 in the morning and it helped but that is where alot of my pain is from the gas and my stomach is puffy from the gas. It will hurt I'm not going to lie but it is manageable.

  11. My packet was submitted to Cigna on 11-18 and the took 5 days to deny me. The doctor's office forgot to attach my diet information from my primary. I had asked her on 11-14 if she got it and she said up its all there. They scheduled me for 12-13 which I was like heck no problem. Then because I was denied the day before Thanksgiving and we resubitted it on that day at 1pm they then said no the resubmit day was 12-2 because they were closed Thanksgiving and Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Then they keep saying not done maybe by Friday and then on Monday they said maybe tomorrow. I was so annoyed because my surgery is this Friday. Finally they told me to have the doctor's office call and ask for a nurse and they will tell them over the phone if they approved me. The doctor's office called and within 15 mins she had called me back to say I was approved. I then had to go get pre op blood work and x-ray because I refused to pay for anything else till I knew it was approved. Even happy to day when hospital called to collect its money. They say it will cost me $1288.00 but we will see, but I'm almost at my out of pocket so it won't be much more than that.

So now as I sit here I have made it threw 12 days of the pre diet and lost 13 pounds not fantastic but I will take it, every little bit helps. I have tomorrow to go and the next day will be the big day. Kinda sucks because I was always a big baker at Christmas but this is so worth it. I feel happy today.

  12. OMG I'm on day 9 of this and I so want something to eat, I went to Sam's to get some stuff and they were sampling cheese cake and chocolate cake, all I could think was really really is this a sign, but I was good I didn't have either and got me the heck out of there. This is hard but this too will pass. I keep telling myself you can do anything this is not forever some day you will eat chicken again,

  13. I just completed mine on Monday and mostly she just wanted to make sure that I understood that this is a tool and not a magic trick and that I understood what it will be like. She did have me do a true or false questionnaire with different questions about being sleeved. The other part was mostly to make sure that I wasn't having any on going deep depressions I guess to make sure my head is on straight. She did ask a lot about my support system.

  14. Your insurance usually has a website to go on to find this information. OOP is your out of pocket, this is the amount you must pay out of pocket and usually once it is met you pay zero depending on your plan. The oop met means how much of your out of pocket expense you have paid so far. I hope this helps.
