  1. Hey there,

It seems like we all have different pre-op and post-op meal plans but i am still wondering...i had my surgery on monday and am still in the liquid phase but i am wondering how long should i wait between my liquif meals (mainly juice, clear broth and jell-o)? Each meal is about 1/4 to 1/2 cup.

I cannot distinguish very well the pain that should be when my stomach is full and would love some feedback from you guys. But if you're into cheating (which seems pretty frequent on here), thanks but no thanks ;).

    Thanks a lot

  2. hey there, just started my pre-op this morning. I am surprised to see how many of you seem to have a lot of «freedom» when it comes to what to eat/drink. I have to stick to 4 opti-fast Protein Shake a day (chocolate or vanilla)...pretty gross, and only 3 cups of veggies (natural) a day. I just drank my second Protein shake and could not finish it...it is so thick and yucky. I wonder if it is bad that i do not finish the shakes...At least, I feel terrific, so far so good :)...The thing i miss the most already: a piece of gum. It usually gives me a little boost, but i have no intention to cheat. I actually don't understand how come so many people on here say they cheated...Personnally,my pre-op diet is for only two weeks and also it's self-paid and though my parents are the one paying, i have no intention to put their money to waist...

If some of you have started a while ago, i would love to know what part of the pre-op you found most difficult. Usually, are the first couple days the most difficult, or is it towards the end, or else ?

It's great to know when everyone is getting their surgery, but it would be nice to ask our questions, share our experience/feelings on this page.

Thanks and good luck to all !

  3. I'm 5'3 and started at 196 day of surgery. My highest weight was 216. Sleeved 12/10/12. I am down at 141 pounds now and have 10 more to go. Started really slowing down the last month or so with the loss but I expected it. If I never drop another pound I am still thrilled with my results. I work out very hard daily and am now a size 7' date=' I was a 16 prior to surgery.[/quote']

Hi ! I am un a very similar situation: i am 5'4" and am around 240, i am starting my pre-op diet this monday for two weeks and my surgery is on august 5th. I was wondering, do you have a lot of extra skin ? I am 24 and everyone at the clinic (nurse, family doctor, surgeon an nut) keep telling me i have the perfect age (and not too big) so i should not worry about it...but i still do lol...

Also, when you say you work every hard everyday, what do you mean by that ? Do you exercise super hard daily ? I have a very busy schedule, being a dmd student, and so i am very aware that i will not have time to spend days in the gym...

I am asking you this just for comparison...to see if i will lose a similar amount with my lifestyle...

    Thanks in advance :)

  4. I'm having mine on august 5th, only one month after my parents offered and we all together found out about this fantastic surgery and all its benefits...how craaaaazy i feel so unprepared but yet couldn't find a better moment to do it. i'm young (so less chance of extra skin), not too far in my weight gain and still have a couple weeks before school starts again. geez i am nervous and excited at the same time.

  5. i'm in canada and my parents are paying 25,000$ for it. I will say however that you should not be looking for a bargain. My procedure may be expensive but it includes a great deal of health professionals (follow up every month for three years with the surgeon and one year with the nutritionnist, nurse and family doctor also).

You actually need to find a team you will feel comfortable with. I think that should be your #1 priority. Being in Canada, my family and I made the personnal decision to go toward a private practice because it could take up to a year (or even three years) in the public system and also because i might not have been considered for the surgery (being around 230lbs).

Just make sure you find the «right team» for you, i think it is the most important of it all.
