  1. I'm one year & 4 months out from gastric sleeve surgery. I lost 50 lbs. initially, but got on a major weight loss stall after about 7 months post-op. Since then, I've managed to put 16 lbs back on. I am so frustrated and disappointed in myself. I can't seem to get back on track. The frustration leads to stress, which leads to using food to self-soothe, and the vicious cycle continues. I can't do much in the way of exercise because of many chronic back and neck issues. Sorry for being a downer. I'm just really frustrated and disappointed. I wish I had more motivation. It is just very difficult when you see no change in the scale, then start seeing those numbers climb. Ugh. Thanks for listening.

    two year surgiversary

    That is AWESOME! Congratulations!
  3. That makes a whole lot of sense! I started at 280 lbs. and my most recent stall has been between 28 & 30 lbs. I don't remember where my first stall was (weight wise) but the first stall for me only lasted about 10 days and this one has been going on much longer! I have finally been seeing a few ounces coming off on the scale, so I hope and pray that the weight will start coming off again. Good luck, y'all.
  4. Thank you for posting these! I am only 8 weeks post surgery but have already found myself plateauing twice. It can be very frustrating! Thanks again.

    I know I have messed up :(

Don't keep yourself from going back to your doctor because you do not want to disappoint them. That is what they are there for. They are not there to judge, they are there to help you. Give them a call and schedule an appointment. Do you have support groups that you can attend as well? Don't be hard on yourself, just try to focus on moving forward and doing better in the future! Good luck!

    Frozen Yogurt

I am 5 weeks out from surgery. I bought some Blue Bunny vanilla fat-free, sugar-free frozen yogurt at Walmart. I eat just about 1/3 cup at a time. I haven't had any problems digesting it or anything and it satisfies my sweet tooth!

    Thank you, Suejersey and JustSayMoe!

I only lost 3.8 lbs in July

It is very refreshing to read all these posts. I am 5 weeks out, down 24 lbs. so far, but have not lost any weight for 10 days. It will go up or down by a few ounces every day, but no significant change. I was getting very freaked out by this! I know I am following the plan set by my doctor/nutritionist and getting enough protein in every day, so I couldn't figure out what was going on. Hopefully I'll get back on track soon, and I wish the same for you!

    LIQUID DIET SUCKS!

I use Flintstones Complete chewable vitamins. My doctor told me to take two of them per day. Make sure you get the "Complete" vitamins. They're not too bad, taste wise.

    cannot stomach vitamins!

I am also 3 weeks post op! I take two Flintstones Complete vitamins (chewable) each morning. Are you taking a chewable vitamin? The Flintstones aren't the greatest thing on the planet but not horrible either. Good luck!

    Pureé & Softs

I am 3 weeks post op. Just got into my pureed foods stage. I just tried grits tonight but they felt like they were sitting in my esophagus for a long time. I thought for a minute that I might have to get sick. Ugh! Not a good feeling. I have had good success with baby oatmeal (not regular oatmeal), mashed potatoes, greek yogurt (without fruit chunks), fat free pudding, scrambled eggs. I also put parmesan cheese on my mashed potatoes and eggs for extra protein. I tried some peanut butter but it also made me sick with lots of heartburn. I'm still relying heavily on the protein shakes. Good luck to you!
  12. I'm sorry that you're going thru this. I am only 3 weeks post-op. I am lucky in that my husband has been very supportive so far. He is also overweight but is dieting using Weight Watchers. I hope that things don't change between us when I really start losing, but I have heard that these things happen. I hope that you will be able to reconnect with your husband. He is probably feeling insecure and left out. But you have to do what is best for your health. Is there a way that you can have a "date night" or even a "couples weekend" where you could have a heart-to-heart talk with him? I'm with the earlier post that recommended couples counseling also, if all else fails. Communication is key to any relationship. I wish you the best of luck!
