    I Got a HOT Date...

I got my date but they have changed it 3 times in a 5 hour span. I went from Aug 23, a date that my surgeon does not do surgery. Then to the 22nd but they took so long that I lost the date, so now it is official the date is the 29th of Aug. I am now waiting to receive my email on the next steps I need to take. I am feeling a little nervous because the date means its really going to happen and I am thinking about the after affects. What is going to work and what I need to do and eat? I know it will all come to me when the time comes but it does not stop me from thinking about the "what if's".

Hey congrats on the decision to get started. I have bcbsil, it took about 3 to 5 days to get approved but I think it depends on who is reviewing your claim. I know someone who was approved in 3 days so its really not to long. Once again congrats

I am happy for you and I work that same schedule. I am hoping for a date in August so I can use my vacation time but the bad part is our year ends June 30th and the year starts July 1st. So I have about 9 1/2 days left and then nothing until next year. But I am really excited for everyone that is getting ready to make the change.

Well hello family, I am very excited today called bcbs il and I have been approved for my surgery. I now have to wait for them to fax the information over to University of Chicago hospital and get the rest if the process rolling. Now I have butterflies knowing that the wait is almost over. I guess I should start getting myself ready, I am hoping that we can get this done by the end of August. Just so happy now that this part is over. Will keep updating.
  18. Hello my name is Kim and 41 years old, married and a mother to 6 young adults and grown adults(blended family). I have been on a few weight loss programs and self started programs, there has been so good results in it but it would come back faster than I lost it. I have been thinking about surgery for a few years but was afraid of going under the knife to have weight loss. In the past year I have been investigating weight loss surgery and what really happens when its done and real results good or bad. I was ready to do it but did not know how to get started but then someone close to me had just completed the process and was able to help me get started and now I am just waiting to get the approval from my insurance and from there I think I am just waiting on a date. I am looking forward to having one day where I can stand at my sink and wash dishes and my back not hurt. I want on day where my knees don't hurt walking up and down stairs. The arthritis in my knees go away and come back much later in life. I want to be able to wear a high heel, wedge heel, any kind of heel and it does not hurt before I can get out the door of my house. I just want to be happy with what I see in the mirror and know health wise I have put myself in a better position. I have chosen not to tell anyone but my own 2 children and my husband about this because I am not ready to here the judgement of people who feel like I am taking the easy way out or I am just lazy and don't want to do the work. But what I know is that this is the easy part the work really starts the day I leave the hospital and I can't wait to take on this new challenge and enter into my new life.

I am very excited to see this group, I have been reading post here and you all make me very excited. I have been waiting on my insurance company to approve me and then it's the home stretch. I spoke to them today and it looks like they have ok'd everything from what the lady I spoke to said but it should be done by tomorrow. I am so happy for everyone on here that they have taken this journey and running with it, which gives me hope. I cant wait to be on the other side going from pre to post. I will continue to post so you all can take this journey with me.

I am from Chicago and I hope to be having my surgery at University of Chicago. I am waiting on approval from the insurance company and then it will be set a date. I am very excited due to reading about all the success everyone is having but I am also very vervous about the surgery and fear of failing due to so many diets have failed. But I am keeping the faith and being calm.

Thank you so much KitKat40, I am getting a little nervous about the wait. I just found out on Friday that my paperwork for approval from insurance company had not been sent in yet and i just completed my PREP and I thought I was done but now I have to see if they ok it.
