Hi Mellissa, You and I are kinda in the same boat. I'm still waiting for approval and my date. (They tell me to give insurance a month) Anyway good luck, and stay positive you'll be getting ready for surgery in no time. Keep us posted.

totally agree with you guys. I think that the police should just t the arrest the illegals at thier parades and protest rallys. I watched all those people who were being naturalized on July 4th and was so happy for them. No matter how you get here, you should have to go throught the process as for the kids that were born here they can decided to take them back to thier home country. I feel all those illegal that have been here for years would have tried to gain citizenship if they were really intersted n becoming citizens. And why are we even considering thier side, I can't go to Canada and start demading them to change thier laws for me. Anyone want to try????? (Sorry got a little heated)

This is my first time to the Ohio page, so I guess I'll introduce myself. I am 29 years old from the Cleveland area, and I'm waiting to be banded. I am a teacher who was hoping to have gotten banded over the summer but I can't get in to meet with the surgeon until August 8th. But oh well, I'll get there one day. Anyone else from the Cleveland area? I'm going to banded at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Chand but I'm alittle nervous about the time it will get back to my normal routine and back to work. I am a single mom to 2 great kids (ages 5 and 3) so I have to be albe to keep up with them. (they are my motivation for making this work.) Oh well...Time to go. Hope to hear from some of you soon

Totally agree. They person that cam up with that slogan should have been fired for suggesting it (and given grammar lessons).

So far i've cleared psych and nutrition (lost almost 10lbs. so far.) But I can't get an appointment to see Dr. Chand until August 8th. My hope for having surgery over summer vacaction is dwindling. My only hope is that someone cancels so I can move my appointment up or for super quick insurance clearance. :cry

I just started my high protien diet. (the diet before the liquid diet) I was told that I have to lose at least 10% of my wieght which is about 22lbs. Congrats on deciding to have the surgery, and stay focused on your diet (remember why your going through this) Also, my nutritionist said that if you don't lose all the pre-op weight you can still have the surgery they main focus is on shrinking your liver and seeing if you can commit to changing your life.

I'm a teacher and was hoping to be banded this summer but now it looks like it will be after school starts back. I can't really afford to take off during the 1st few months of school so my question is how long does it take to get up and moving and returning 2 work?

Hi everyone, I just cleared my psych eval on Monday, and meet with nutrition on Friday. I don't meet with the surgeon until Aug 8th.:phanvan Being new to this I have sooooo many questions like how long does it take to get insurance clearance, do people treat you differently after surgery,canyou ever drink alchol after surgery, and what about ur skin does it normally get saggy? If someone could help answer these i would truely appreciate it.

My true motivation is to be healthy and be able to keep up with my kids (agegs 5 and 3) but I haven't really told anyone that i'm having surgery except for my mom and a few close friends. I figure alot of people will think I'm sick but most of my co-workers an some relative think I should just exercise more and keep dieting. I know I may have come off as purely in it for the asthetic reasons but I just need to do right fro myself and my family. thanks again
