I had my surgery Thursday sept 5th with Dr. Hamilton. Him and the staff at the Bariatric center of Kansas City were amazing. I was sore but I expected that and it's bearable with pain meds and no regrets!

Good luck tomorrow!!! Please let us know how you're doing afterward when you feel up to it!!!
I think I am doing ok. My blood pressure keeps being low and my drain is leaking more than it should. But pain is totally not that bad! Just trying to get some rest for now

Done with surgery' date=' actually was done at 10:30 this morning:) When I woke up in the recovery room, I had some pain in only one of the five holes in my belly. I rated it a five. Got less with the pain meds. Other than that I was drowsy. Going through the day doing well. Sitting up the first time a little dizzy, walking a little nauseous Not too bad though. Gave my some Zofran, much better. Second time getting up and walking not as bad:) No gas pains yet. Feeling pretty good, much better than I thought I would. Tired though, so I'll try to post more tomorrow:)[/quote']I am so glad your surgery went so well! I hope mine goes that smooth!

Bleh! Meh!Day 8 of my 3 week preop liquid diet.. Its odd..I have lost all desire to really drink my shakes or do anything else...in fact even wuen i look at real food..it doesnt bother me right now...its soo odd. In fact i end up having one Protein Shake for Breakfast and end up forgetting to have another shake until dinner...ive been going 7 hours without drinking my shakes....i just dont feel hungry anymore...i feel an emptiness but not hunger..
Guess my body loves low carb. The funny thing is that i havent stepped on a scale for an entire week. Usually i weigh myself everyday but right now.. i have no desire to weigh myself..perhaps its because it doesnt matter wuat the scale says..i still have to be on this diet.
I am on day 5 of my 2 week liquid diet and having the same issue so i double my shakes then slowly "chug" them so that i have 4 shakes total in two sittings for breakfast and dinner. I know I can't do that after surgery but trying to get my Protein in to the best of my ability for now.

I started my liquid diet yesterday. I have two weeks on it. Yesterday was hard everything seems to center around food! Today I am just not hungry. Did my shake for Breakfast and lunch not due to hunger but rather due to assuming even if I am not hungry I still need the Protein intake. I am hoping this continues up til September 5th when I have surgery! So excited to be on this journey for a healthier mother for my children!

Hi! My name is Jeanni. I live in Missouri, I'm getting my sleeve in Lenexa, Kansas September 5th, start my 2 week liquid diet (4 shakes a day and broth, sf Jello and sf Popsicles ) August 22nd. The liquid diet and excess skin is my biggest worries. The excess skin I can live with just would prefer not to have it. I am 30 and not sure if I am too "old" for my skin to bounce back like when I was younger. But excess skin is a very small price to pay for getting to a healthy weight so I'm not sure why it worries me so. I have substituted some shakes here and there to prepare for preop diet and just telling myself if I cheat on it I am only hurting myself. I wish you all luck!

small non-scale victory!
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I was able to fit into size 20 jeans that I havent been able to wear for over a year! I am only 2 weeks post op. I have lost 30 pounds in the last 4 weeks. I had a liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. The scale had told me I had lost 30 pounds but I couldn't really tell a difference. Then this morning I decided to see if a pair of size 20 jeans were even close to fitting. I was able to do them up without even a struggle, they fit perfect!!!!!! At work we get to wear jeans on Fridays but I never did because I couldnt fit in my jeans and refused to buy size 24 jeans. Anyone else have any non-scale victories this week?
