    post op diet cheating

by did i just blow it!! I have been on a soft diet, kinda of skipped pureed stage. i'm supposed to be on purreed for another 10 days or so. I ate a whole piece of pizza tonight. i was avoiding it and then WHAM!! I decided to eat it. Now i am feeling bad because i completely blew it:mad: i also feel fullness in my throat that is letting me know my band is ticked off:angry: all i can do is try to be better tomorrow maybe I'll liquid it for a little while
  2. I don't think I'm gonn venture out tomorrow unless it gets way better. Supposed to get worse after midnight tonight. sunday will work for me if I can get out of my driveway. I live in Union county in the country so it's pretty dicey out here. Let me know if you can.
  3. Sounds like you are all about ready for the big day. I had my post-op nutrtion class today. Pureed for 2 weeks we'll see how that goes. I had already started scrambling an egg and smashing it with a fork. 2 weeks post op and I feel like I could eat more than I am. Not that I'm hungry just have to watch out for that "psychological" hunger. It's gonna be tought til I get that first fill in about 4 weeks. Good Luck Everyone!!!

    Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!

Hi Fab girls! Well it's been 11 days since surgery and I feel Great!! Aside from an emotional time at the estaurant whee i was sooo hungry and couldn't find anything to eat:mad: I finally ended up with some mahed potatoes and ice cream what a combo but I didn't eat much of either so I didn't feel too guilty I had to EAT!!! so getting back to eating is kinda weird . I hop I'm not "pushing it" but the liquids gotta go.
  5. Congrats SueCab!! Glad to hear you got your date!! I am hoping it will all be worth it but it really wasn't as bad as I htought. I think the worst part is the liquid diet post-op. I got to eat a scrambled egg and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. so 9 days out I'm feeling good not really sore except when I get out of bed or roll over in bed. for me it was like I couldn't get a hold of charlene for days then out of the blue i got my surgery packet. Well good luck and I''l be talking with you soon.
  6. planning on it. My daughters play is that night so I'll have to see how the timing works out. would love to meet you all

A Week into my new life

This week has been the first week into my new life. I had my band placed on week ago today. I have lost 9 lbs. since the day of surgery. I started Really trying in mid jan and as of today I have lost 20lbs. I'm feeling pretty good not sore too much only over my port site. last night I had a feeling of fullness in my throat all night. Still on liquids so I know it's not anything "stuck" Hoping this is working and will be my answer to many years of praying. :biggrin2:

    Your Aetna experience?

I found Aetna to be a little more strict than my previous insurance. I had everyhting sunmitted to my old insurance in Dec. but they wouldn't even look at because i was switching to Aetna in Jan. Other had a really easy time with my previous insurance NGS. After everything was submitted to Aetna In Jan 3 weeks later they said they didn't have enough documentation which was not true. My GP 15 pages of weight history and a letter begging for me . After he sent another letter I was approved very quickly(FEB. 4) Got scheduled for 2/20 and voila I'm done.(Except losing the weight that is) Good luck and be patiently persistent
  10. Hi all I was banded a week ago today and still on full liquids. The soups don't last long for me but the protein shakes do. Last night though Ifelt like I had a pill stuck in my throat all night and there were some strnage effervescent bubbling noises and feelings. I hadn't taken anything since before 6pm. It still feelis like I've got something "stuck in my crawl" anyone heard of this? It couldn't still be the Tylenol could it? Not liking this feeling. Have been doing great until last night. Help!!!
  11. Hi my name is Sarah and some of your names look familiar from the LBT chat. I was banded on 2/20/08 @ Mt. Carmel with Dr. Choban so just getting familiar with everything. What do guys do at the get togethers? I saw the next one was march 8. Can any anyone show up? Polaris isn't very far from me I live between Delaware and marysville. Just wanted to get to know some people "in my boat" . Thanks:w00t:
  12. I arrrived 2 hrs before surgery, registered and was taken to a room to change. From there I went to pre-op holding so the nurses could get me ready for surgery. In there I got my IV, a shot of Heparin to prevent blood clots and little boots on my feet that they hook up in surgery to a machine that applies pressure to the bottom of your feet to prevent clots in your legs. Dr. choban came in to say hi. The anesthiologist cam in to speak to me and then I waited for surgery time with my husband. As they took me to the operating room anesthesia gave me " a little something" to relax me. By the time I was in the OR and on the table they were giving me something else to make me sleepy and that's all Iremember until I woke up in the recovery room. I woke up and was drowsy but not in pain. I had a urinary catheter during surgery but it was out by the time I got into recovery. Before I went up to my room( i had to spend one night) I asked for pain medication (not because it was really that bad but i was afraid in transfer and getting settled into the new room it would be awhile before I would get pain meds) I was in my room by 2:30(surgery was at noon). Was pretty sleepy after they gave me some medicine for slight nausea, Thank God I never threw up. I slept the rest of the day and they got me up to the bathroom(burned a little from the catheter but not bad. Got clear liquids that night. That evening I got up to walk the hallway got pain meds and went to sleep. by morning i felt 100% better although it hurt to get in and out of bed like muscle soreness. I also had quite a bit of gas pains from the surgery up in my shoulders and back and it felt like there was an air bubble in my stomach. That morning Dr. Choban came in and told the the surgery had gone well and gave me instructions. After keeping down a liquid breakfast i could go home. Breakfast was apple juice, cottage cheese(yuck) creamof wheat(yuck) milk. I did the best I could walked around for awhile and went home. If I had to say what I didn't expect or wished i had known is how much gas discomfort there would be(relieves with walking) and that i would be this hungry 5 days out. I keep trucking with the full liquids though. Let me Know if i can help further!! It will be sooo worth i. All in all really better than I expected if that helps....Whew.... I'm done typing I swear!!!

    post op day 4- hungry!

I too was banded on 2/20. I'm sooooo hungry and ready to call the fast food places and tell them to QUIT advertising at least for a couple weeks. I know I'm not getting in all the protein but the drinks aren't all that great I think I've been able to get in 40-50gms a day think that's good enough for the first week? I'll tell ya I made a yummy one yesterday with Atkins choc prtein drink 2 tsp peanutbutter and ice in the magic bullet mixer and I added a little splenda!! Yum it tasted like a choc peanut butter milkshake .I swear I'm very picky(although you wouldn't know it by looking at me). kept me full for a few hours. Well good luck and hope to hear from u all soon.
