    Ate too much?

My doctor and dietician said no real restrictions with full liquid diet which yogurt is. They just said stop when you are full. Listen to your body. When I am on solids then yes less amounts. I am having a really hard time getting calories in and I don't want to go into starvation mode. So if I have to eat a 6oz container of yogurt to get 90 calories then that's what I should do. I just didn't know if it was ok. Apparently it is! Thanks!
  3. I am 10 days post op and was able to eat a 6 oz container of light yogurt this morning. Now granted it took me almost an hour but still I thought I was only going to be able to have 3 spoonfuls and be full. Happen to anyone else this soon?

Ok awesome thanks! I was worried!
  5. I am a huge dip fan. I now intend to eat low fat of course. I know I'm no way ready now as I am only 9 days post op, but just curious. I normally do pretzels as chips. No more! What is a good substitute? I know raw veggies are also a no no for awhile. Ideas???

    Hair loss

My hairdresser who also had the VSG swears by biotin so I've added that to my daily vitamin regimen. Plus it's a lozenger so really easy to take. Got it at vitamin world.

    When will it get better?

All of mine are chewable. I'm post op day 9 started them on day 7 and so far so good. I do split up the calcium citrate into 2 times a day though. They are a little much even though they are chewable. I bought the petite calcium citrates opened them up and saw there was nothing petite about them! I'd have to take 4 a day!! No way! So now I add the little extra sugar and do the gummys! Hope this helps!!

    Diabetics who got sleeved....

My endocrinologist said with the right diet and exercise mine can be cured forever since having the VSG. However I was only diagnosed 10 months before my sx. And my hgb a1c was never above 6.9. Maybe I just caught it really early. Good luck to everyone!

    Dippers?

Pita chips sound amazing too! My hubby does make home made chips so I'll eat those too...maybe a bit less oil. Keep the ideas coming!!!

    Diabetics who got sleeved....

I have type two diabetes. My doctor told me to stop my meds, I was only on glucophage, and he will check my hemoglobin a1c in 3 months. Just got sleeved July 3 so I have a long way to go but here's keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!
  13. Had my post op visit yesterday and was told to advance to full/purée for 3 to 4 days then as tolerated. Was so happy! Had tomato soup, cottage cheese, and a protein shake with real milk, skim of course. Now I have no appetite whatsoever. It's been 12 hours since I ate (drinking fine) but no appetite. Normal??? I couldn't wait to eat and now....not so much. Not nauseous or pain. Just not hungry....help!

    Started on real food!

Thanks tigerbelle! I do have the head hunger please don't get me wrong. I would kill for a slice of pizza and some fries lol! That's what got me in trouble in the first place! It's only my second meal since clears so I'm sure ill get hungrier as the days and weeks go on. I'm def sticking around and glad that I found these forums. Great info an support! My biggest fear is that my family and I go to the beach this weekend for a week! My downfall has always been fast fried food so I'm trying really hard to prepare for that. We are renting a house so at least most of our meals will be eaten in!

    protein..4 days post op

I don't really have a problem with the liquids. I was always a big "drinker". I sip all day long but no different than before. I did the whey protein powder with water when I was on clears. That's all my surgeon would let me have. Horrifying to say the least! I tried the liquid protein from vitamin shop in the little bullets but they were even worse. Now that I can mix in some fruit an milk I'm doing much better with the protein as I suspect you will be too!

I was sleeved 7/3 and just started getting my protein in yesterday when I could add milk to my diet. Could not do the protein shake with water when I was on clears. I tried everyday and could not do it!

    Insomnia!?!?

I am 8 days post op and same issue! My sleep pattern is all messed up! Awake half the night and naps during day. I try not to sleep during day but sometimes it's impossible not to! Last night I actually slept a whole 6 hours without waking up and that was huge for me!!!

    Any Pennsylvania Sleevers?

Hi! From Allentown area. Had my VSG on July 3 at LVH with Dr boorse. He's amazing as is LVH!!!
  20. Just joined like 4 minutes ago but have been creeping awhile! Just had VSG on July 3. So far so good. Still on clears until Thursday which is now getting rough! My name is Danielle I am 37 with 2 small kids and a hubby, 2 cats, 2 fish and a dog. I am a labor and delivery nurse and I love my job. Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 10 months ago and that's when I made up my mind about WLS. Diabetes is scary and I want it gone! Been on every diet and exercise program known to man kind. Struggled with weight my whole life always known as fluffy or big boned. My highest weight was 248 at 5'5. I have already lost 10 lbs since Wednesday but am having a horrible time getting my protein shakes in. On Thursday ill be able to mix them with more than just water so I know it will get easier. Thank God for boards like this. Thank you for sharing your very inspirational stories! I hope to be one of them to someone else one day!!!!
  21. I told everyone. I don't care who knows. I posted it on Facebook too. It's a personal decision and mine was to tell anyone.
