    It's Oh So Quiet ...

No question is stupid. Look in the patient data part of your profile. Hopefully this picture is worth a thousand words (and no more headaches):

    It's Oh So Quiet ...

On the website (not app) - go to your profile and choose Gastric Bypass from the drop-down menu to change the defaults (mine was showing the lapband forums until I did this), so you'll see more of the Bypass forums.

    Tylenol

Are you taking the Prilosec as a capsule, yet? it was around 3 weeks when I started to take it that way with Dr approval. If so, compare the size to see if Tylenol will work, too. Now, I take the larger capsules (Actigal, B12 and Prilosec) first about 1-2 minutes apart to check how each feels before taking the next one. Are you on MyChart - Steve said to message him with questions through that and he'll respond quicker than if you leave a voicemail.

It is too quiet! Hopefully the RNY folks will be back soon. They just fixed my username account tonight. Glad to be back as my usual self! Molly

    Any October surgeries out there...

I drink the hot chocolate from MyBariatricPantry online. They have variety boxes. I ended up reordering just the plain and adding my own flavors. I also have a sample pack of protein bars from MyBariatricPantry, but I haven't tried them yet since they aren't part of soft foods which is the stage I'm in. Molly

    Any October surgeries out there...

I've grown sick of the protein shakes, too. I've since switched to Isopure (kind of like Gatorade) and hot chocolate protein drinks. Molly 10/2/13

    Hiatal Hernia

I think it added one more incision (I had 6 instead of the typical 5) and 45 minutes to the operation. Other than that, no big deal. Of course I have no idea if my recovery was worse because of it, but I was back to work a week post-op. Molly 10/2/13

    soft food

Smoked salmon. It's yummy. My clinic's plan includes whole wheat toast as a soft food. So for Breakfast this week, I had 1oz of lox, a shear of cream cheese on 1/2 slice of toast. Molly

    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

The BMs and rumbling are pretty normal I think. Each clinic has its own protocol. Mine had me on puréed food for the first four weeks. I'm on "soft foods" now. However, I've seen many folks on here who did Clear Liquids first. Welcome to the losers bench! Molly 10/2/13

Please share the tips with us, too! Not all of us are lucky enough to learn from a pro. :-) Molly

    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

Soft foods! Today I officially start soft foods (although I have tried a little already the last couple of days truth be told). This morning I had lox and low fat cream cheese on 1/2 slice of whole wheat toast. I'm savoring and chewing each small bite. Yum! Hope everyone is doing well! I think my two week stall is over ( time will tell) because I finally lost the 2 lbs I had GAINED. So far I'm the turtle in this race - only 8 lbs lost since morning of my surgery but I figure that they are now gone forever, so still a win for me! Molly 10/2/13 HW 288, SW 256, CW 248

    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

I've read that the first stall usually happens 2-3 weeks post-op. I'm still stalled for almost two weeks, but I've gone down a clothing size! In a couple of days, measure yourself because most shrinking happens during a stall. Molly

    1 month post op

I'm not quite a month post-op, but I'll try to answer your vitamin question. At my clinic, they recommend 2 Flintstomes complete chewables, D3, calcium citrate. (I take 3 Bariatric Advantage chewables a day) , B12 sublingual and B-complex or B-50 (I open the capsule and mix with unsweetened applesauce). Molly 10/2/13

I hope everyone is doing well pre and post op! Many October pre-ops are posting in "Any October surgeries" thread in the Pre-op forum. Many Post-ops are posting in the "OMG October 2013" thread in the Post-op forum. We hope to see you there! Molly 10/2/13

    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

the ones I drink are in 8 oz plastic bottles. Amazon has it in their subscribe and save items ($38 for 24) which I just ordered after trying the flavors from an order with My Bariatric Pantry ($2.50). Molly 10/2/13
