Tiny One replied to guthsj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had surgery on 11/7 & got approval drink drink wine on 12/31. Drink a half glass of white wine. Not bad but felt a little tipsy. Didn't hurt the Timmy though. -
Sleeved on 12-12-12.....Down 70lbs with pics
Tiny One replied to simplyfedup's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nice transformation. Great job. Next week will be a year for me too. And last checked I was done 70 lbs. at 127 now & would like to stay where I am. My body has been playing with the last 3-4 lbs, so I think I'm at my plateau as predicted by my doctor. -
I do the Whey Protein shots sometimes. It's usually on Sundays which is the only day when I sleep in late which throws off my schedule & daily routine. It has 42 grams and it kind of taste like cough syrup. I only like the watermelon and normally drink water afterwards.
-
I snack 2 or 3 times a day. It's usually my Greek yogurt & some sort off nuts. This helps me reach my protein goal & keeps me satisfied throughout the day. Once in a while I may have a "bad" snack. But it's normally a very very small portion.

The first week or so the scale may not move much. You still have swelling & gotta get rid of all that junk they pumped in you for the surgery. This sleeve will work. Give it some time, and you'll be dropping pounds like crazy. I dropped 25 from surgery to my 30 day post op visit. Had my doctor didn't predict that, I would've felt the same as you are now. So hang in there. It will work. Good luck & keep us posted.

70 lb Progress Pic

Amazing transformation! Good job! -
You'll be ok. I'm approaching 1 year on nov 7. I can eat whatever I want in moderation, but it wasn't easy getting here. It will take time & patience. Believe me, you'll get there. Just allow time for your tummy to heal. I recall when I couldn't wait to get to the next food phase. And really couldn't wait to go on solids. Once I got there, I learned the things that I craved didn't agree with me right away. Some things that I craved when I couldn't have it, I don't crave it now. I'm good now. So hang in there as it will get better. Good luck.

I pray you'll do well. I'm approaching one year post op & sooooo glad I did this. Just follow the rules of your doctor & you'll be fine. Good luck & keep us posted.

Wow, my insurance was pretty good. I think i paid maybe $200 in copays for my specialist visits & $800 for my hospital stay., nothing more.

has anyone been sleeved that had 50-60 pounds to lose?
Tiny One replied to nomorecupcakes's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
When I went for my 30 day post op appointment, I was down 25 lbs (43 if you count 18 pre-op). My doctor expected me to lose 60-70% of my excess body fat in a year. But I reached that by my 9 month post op appointment. I was told during that appointment that I'd start to plateau around 11 months & they were right. To date I lost 70 lbs & not expected to lose much more. If I don't lose another pound I am perfectly fine as I am. I'll just work to maintain at this point. Good luck. -
Chips has always been my weakness. Of course I can't eat many now, . But I still part take once in a while.

What did you tell people?!?!?
Tiny One replied to LeahJade's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your bosses shouldn't say anything to anyone about any kind of medical issues. There is a law that protects against that. If anyone at work ask you, just tell them it's PHI (protected health information) and leave it at that. If they want more, tell the to google PHI or HIPAA and that will explain the laws & how it's illegal to probe or discuss anyone's health issues. Actually, your bosses are in total violation and the are idiots. Good luck. -
Do you have any other medical conditions that they can list? I was borderline diabetic, borderline for high blood pressure & cholesterol. Doc listed that with my acid reflux, sleep apnea & joint /back pain. Doc also asked me if I tinkled a little when I sneezed, and my answer was, yes. While my BMI was around 35, but doc said she'd list all of these things and was certain I'd get approved with no problem. And was right. I'd suggest finding out exactly what your insurance carrier requires. And then speak with your doctor regarding any other conditions that you haven't discussed. Good luck, and don't give up.

Lol...I have coffee daily. But I mix it. Half decaf & gave reg. but didn't try it until 6 mons post op.

I've always been a private person when it comes to my health matters. I don't like being judged & didn't want or need the added stresses & anxiety of them trying to talk me out of it or saying I didn't need it. I Told my very supportive husband , 3 very supportive friends & my HR rep. It's actually allowed this journey to be nothing but positive.

No worries, just get right back to it. Good luck.

96 lbs in less than a year is great. It will start to move again. Like the others mentioned, try changing up your exercise routine. Maybe more cardio. Hang in there & keep up the good work.

I eat the Yoplait 100 cal Greek yogurt, protein bars & nuts. For the nuts, I may do a trail mix, or sometimes I mix the nuts with some sugars free yogurt covered raisins.
