  1. On Sundays, I cook 3 oz portions of salmon or some other kind of fish to eat with salad or another green vegetable as lunch for the week. At times I may alternate my dressings or salad types to change it up. I may sometimes may eat a very small portion of what's left from dinner. And then eat my fish for dinner. Or I may eat a few crackers with cheese or Peanut Butter for lunch. I drink Water & munch on nuts throughout the day that satisfies me between meals.
  2. Glad you made it through the surgery. Walk as much as you can. It does wonders for gas. Here's to a speedy recovery.

    Feeling good

Looking good too! Amazing transformation!!!!!! Great Job!!!!
  4. Almost 2 years post op and I'm ok with the restriction. I eat about 1/4 of what I use to eat pre-op and my focus is my Protein intake, a little healthy carbs & veggies. My taste buds has changed, but I have no complaints. Some of the things that I thought I would miss either don't taste the same or I can't tolerate it. The discomfort from eating something that's not tolerable isn't worth consuming it. To be honest, by the time I reach my daily 80 gms of protein & Fluid each day, there's not much room for anything else. And I'm happy with that. Trust me, as much as you think you can't cut back portions for longer than a year, you can do it. After a year it will be force of habit. And you'll be so happy with the results, you'll want to keep it up. I know I did & still do. Good luck!!!

when did you go back to work?

Everyone is different. I didn't understand why my doctor recommended 5 weeks. But I'm glad I took off 5 weeks. While I starts feeling better after 2 weeks, my energy level didn't return until week 4. She also recommended the 5 weeks to allow me to get through the first few food stages without the stresses of my coworkers watching & commenting on my every move. I'm so glad I stayed out for 5 weeks.
  6. You'll be ok because you recognize what you've done. No worries, just get back to it and don't be discouraged. Before you know it, your habits will change for the better. Stay focused & good luck to you.

    Love to Shop!

I'm with you. The moment I noticed I could buy the small sizes, I couldn't believe the nice stuff I scored!!! It was very exciting. I liked shopping post op, but really really really love it now. Over a year and a half post op and still can't believe where I am. Loving it!!!

    Losing more than desired?

When I hit my goal weight, I didn't want to lose anymore. During my one year post op, I asked my doctor when does it stop. While she said there was another 15 pounds I could lose, she said those last 15 would be hard to lose. She told me I'd have work work really really hard to lose that 15. So she told to cut back on gym routines & incorporate heathy carbs in my diet that would stick to me. So far so good as I've been at the same weight since November and I'm ok with that.
  16. Everyone's different. At my 30 day post op, I was down 25 lbs. Took me another 10 months to drop the remaining to reach my goal. Some of it dropped fast, & then maybe a stall fir a few weeks. Nevertheless, the weight dropped. So just follow the plan. Get in your protein & fluids along with keeping up with your exercise. Be patient & you'll be pleasant surprised. Good luck to you.

    Protein Bread?

Sounds like a good source of protein if you can tolerate bread. For me, bread is no longer my friend. I'm almost 18 months post op & don't tolerate bread well. So good luck if you can handle it.

    hot flashes?

Prior to surgery, I had no hot flashes. 6 months post op, hot flashes began & cycle was MIA. Now I'm close to 18 months post op, hot flashes continues & cycle is a hit or miss. Major hormonal changes. Other than that, I still love my sleeve!!!!!

Can you have a stall just one week post-op?!

It's still early. You still have the swelling & all that gas & junk that was pumped in you for the surgery. Don't rush yourselves. Follow the rules & you'll be pleasantly surprised. Good luck to you 2.

    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

    That I wasn't, not went.

    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

Some folks just don't get it. That's exactly why I didn't tell no more than 5 people. Those 5 people understand I was borderline diabetic- cholesterol - HBP, had sleep apnea, back & joint pain. So they knew I needed the sleeve to get & stay healthy. I didn't want to hear or deal with the folks telling me I didn't need it because I went "big" enough to need WLS. It's been almost a year & 1/2 post op and it still haven't told anyone else. Me limiting folks that I told has made this journey a good & positive experience.
  23. Nice!!!! Congrats on the new car and the new you....

    Normal....or not

All normal. Be patient, follow your doctor's plan & you will be pleasantly surprised. I went through it all. Didn't get energy back until week 5 or 6. Had trouble with Water until swelling went completely down. so I sipped on decaf tea throughout the day. Some food was ok, & some wasn't. So I stuck to what was tolerable. Try eating & drinking slower. Hang in there. Good luck!!!!
  25. I was nervous up until i went under anesthesia. I just focused on why I wanted and needed this tool. I really needed it to get and stay healthy. So I focused on the life improvements that was waiting on the other side. My husband was my sounding board & kept be positive & focused. It all worked out. Good luck. Follow the plan & you'll be pleasantly surprised.
