    Pre-op verse Post-op protein shakes

The instructions I was given from my doc weren't really clear. I was suppose to start my pre-op diet on Sunday. I will do it without until Tuesday when I can reach my doc offic.
  2. Quick question...part of my insurance requirement is three months physician supervised weight loss. Here is the question. After your third visit did your paperwork get submitted, or did you have to go in for a fourth time to count a solid three months? Maybe it's a silly question, but I am trying to get an estimate as to how quickly I could get in for surgery.

    Almost done!

They did suggest I start it after my final appointment only because I am on a time crunch to get it done. Most of the time they don't recommend starting it until you have been approved for surgery and they set your surgical date around that.
  4. Yeah a fellow shortie!!! Thanks for sharing! Do you mind me asking how long it's taken you to drop the weight? The last time I was in a size 8 and medium tops was when I was 130 pounds. I am very fortunate that I put on weight very evenly and have great curves.
  5. Did HgC because my mom was convinced it would for me. At the end of one round of it I was hospitalized because my body couldn't fight off a simple sinus infection.

    My pet peeve

How hateful. Good thing you took yourself out of the group.

    My hair!

Ditto on the "it comes back" comment. I had to have emergency surgery last year. Post op I lost about a third of my hair volume. Total panic. But I have a ton of new growth. I am totally anticipating it happening again. I will do all the precautions I can and just take really good care of the hair I do have.
  8. I am on Pinterest and am constantly pinning outfits. But my splurge will be a pencil skirt suit from Theory with some 5 inch heels....yeah, I can't wait to get back into all my heels.

Talking about what comes out the other end

I know different docs have recommended different things. I just hadn't seen where they recommended regular fiber pills. I was curious if it was a no-no after surgery.

    Tracking measurements app?

My doc recommended thighs, hips, stomach, chest and arms.

    3 years post op

Thanks so much for sharing! I have been wondering what several years post op looks like and now I know! It's inspiring!

    Tracking measurements app?

I also use BodyCompare. It allows you to use your phone to take pictures on a delayed setting so you can take pictures of your self. And then it lets you set up the pictures so you can do side-by-side pics and see the difference.

    Wigs?

First off...buy a wig for the fun of it and for no other reason. On a serious note, I have already decided if the hair loss gets bad enough I will get hair extensions to replace some of my thickness.

    Today is the day!

Prayers sent your way for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!
  16. ISO recommendations on protein shakes. My doctor gave me a list. Just wondering what everyone finds to be the most filling and tasteful. Gluten free recommendations are greatly appreciated too!
  17. Ditto on the therapy or support group. I did 9 months of intensive therapy, at different times having to go in multiple times a week, prior to even discovering I wanted WLS. This is hard work, not just in changing your diet, but also our perspectives. You have made one big positive step. Now it's time to do what might even be the harder part...mental. You can do this!

    My Story... Good and Bad

I have a quick question. Were you at a bariatric surgical center where the doctor works at that hospital?
